A next gen game ported to Switch, generally considered to be decent but graphically lacking compared to its peers but still a marvel it's on the switch...4/10
I saw plague tale in the eshop yesterday at full retail price for a cloud game...it's an absolute joke.
I'd also wager that, if you cannot afford the machine capable of running these games natively then you almost certainly won't have the infrastructure needed to run these cloud versions at a capable level.
The sooner these cloud games go the way of Stadia, the better.
I applaud them bringing these brilliant games to switch but i will 100% hold off till Q3 to get this one now. Bit of a strange release decision if the saves wont be compatible, perhaps they should have delayed it. Oh well, I'll get it when the times right.
There's a bug with the save games - it adds the time that the console is in sleep mode to the overall playtime of the save. Ie, play for 2 hours, standby the console for 24 hours then the next time you save it shows as 26 hours playtime.
Good. It's a ****ing disgrace all things considered (old game, rockstar funding it, first true GTA on Nintendo etc) and I hope those who spent their cash on it are able to either see through all it's faults or get their money back.
@ItsjustAnotherGamer funnily enough I've never used a pro controller in all the years I have had a switch. Generally made do with majority portable play and then with the joycons in docked mode. I bought a Nano as a 'compromise' and the d-pad certainly is very much that.
@Mr-Fuggles777 yes but can you play 120fps while taking a s***? On an actual toilet? Jokes aside I get your point...I'm not great at these games as don't have the time to dedicate to them, so as a casual gamer I won't mind too much about the drop to 30fps.
Also to mitigate this didn't Fortnites matchmaking bias Switch users together so the advantage levelled out a bit?
30gb is a big lump but I'll give it a go no doubt.
Bought my son this for Christmas. Its amusing enough but severely limited to your available play space. We have a reasonable size living room but even then the novelty didn't last particularly long.
The first game was decent if not perfect and the patches lifted the quality - it's a great game. Hopefully the devs have learned from the experience and Zwei will launch without imperfections.
@electrolite77 @johnvboy I get all that. But the review doesn't read like its building up to a 10.
I dont really mind about their score (I expected it to come in high anyway) and I was tongue in cheek hence the smiley face. I know the game is great from the wii u.
@fox_mattcloud should never be 50 quid. 34.99 or something. 50 quid for a remaster/port is ridiculous - think of the pelters EA got for charging 45 for burnout! Nintendo seems to get a bit of a pass for being Nintendo.
It looks like Nights 2, but slower and less fluid. Not sure on this, the aesthetic is charming but it looks pretty dull and the costume mechanic not really fleshed out
@Magonigal its laggy as hell isn't it? If I reboot the console fully its back up to speed but quickly slows down again. Such a rubbish system for a console with such a volume of games released so quickly.
Its a great game. When launched it wasn't as good as the original, no, but it was a competent on rails shooter.
The aiming mechanic was off compared to the Saturn game but you could easily get used to it. Performance was perfectly fine at 30fps. Since the updates its sharper visually and with its controls too and feels more natural aiming and turning through the 90 degree views. I'm on board with developers that take feedback and improve games, let's face it there are plenty of switch devs that do not.
If you don't like this sort of game then no drama, give it a miss, but if you have affection for the original its well worth a buy - as long as you expect a reimagining not a 1:1 replica.
Ion Fury...more like Ion-Furiating...30fps is a joke for a game based on a 25 year old game engine for crying out loud. Wish I'd have known before pre ordering. That'll teach me to wait for reviews I guess. Should have just gone with pc version instead.
I can't wait to put my switch in my new headrest mount. This s*** beats Xmas all day long.
If you want news go read the daily mail. This is a Nintendo site, that is a (3rd party) Nintendo product. Thus relevant. I didn't once suggest it was a news article my pedigree chum, you seem to be the one obsessed with this point.
@YourGoodFriendly do you pay to visit the site and the content they give you? I suspect not. Ill take an affiliate article now and then for the privilege of reading.
As for the item, spot on. Something I didn't know I needed till now.
All this on a device the size of a small (2 year old) tablet. The obsession of comparing this and other games to the platforms they originated on is not fair (although I understand the desire to know how they run, they should be judged on their own right) and takes away from the remarkable feat of programming to getting such a game on the device.
I know it will look prettier on PC/PS4 Pro. But I won't be able to play this while sat on the toilet on those platforms so swings and roundabouts.
£35 is a complete disgrace for an 8bit game and 2x 16bit regardless of their quality. Seiken 3 is so good and I literally just went on after seeing this to buy it for that alone, but seriously...f that.

I care less and less about Reggie's thoughts with every passing article.
We all like Nintendo, but not everyone has this same hero worship for the geezer

Never change NL!
Still, great game. Looking forward to playing it again.

Re: Review: Minecraft Dungeons - A Simple Action RPG That Relies Too Heavily On The Minecraft Name
@Anguspuss same its why I bought it, my lad absolutely loves minecraft and enjoys it for what it is but I find the stuttering really jarring
Re: Review: Minecraft Dungeons - A Simple Action RPG That Relies Too Heavily On The Minecraft Name
The performance is grim. The frame pacing issues make it borderline unplayable docked with couch co-op.
Re: Minecraft Dungeons
@farmer_humpf such a strange game to not review, given its popularity/brand. I wonder why?
Re: Minecraft Dungeons Is Out Today On Switch, Here's The Launch Trailer
It runs dreadfully on Switch docked. A horrible stuttery mess.
