My thought about why the closeness of release dates? To stop people importing the US version while waiting for the non-English language translations to be completed...
I liked UC quite a bit, played through and unlocked almost everything. Having played the DC demo @ SDCC then it's harder for sure, though you can now play the game only using the Wiimote, you don't have to use the nunchuck. Also earned the publicised zombie T-shirt as a reward
It's based on how many you register during the year (June to June). All I can say to this is "hell yes!", now that's more like it, something exclusive. Guess I'll go register for it (as I have a US Wii and Club Nintendo account).
Considering Japan never got a retail release of Super Punchout (it was download station only) then hopefully more people over there will finally be able to play it
So you complain about people spending far more on cards and comics too? It's his money, he can do with it what he wants. I got similar attitude from some people for spending $2,600 on a game once...
Just a pity the US version doesn't come with the boxes... still, I played this a few months back and loved it, so will be picking up the US version in due course.
@6 - doesn't and won't matter. If a kid wants a game, then there will usually be a stupid parent ignoring the age rating on it who will buy it for them... how else do I see so many underage players on XBL?
@Djungelurban - if I remember reading correctly, the UK makes up almost half of Europe's entire videogame sales, so it's pretty much territory #1 to release in. So you have to get it rated by the BBFC. Having said that, I do know there is a serious push to try and get PEGI as the standard here, so it might make things easier if that comes to fruition.
Not that it makes much difference to me anyhows as I import 99% of my games...
Woot, Bubble Bobble finally in the US. Think I might be grabbing that and perhaps getting my bro in on some two player destruction. I wonder how much the DLC will be in the US...?
@93 - my thought too. If it does, it makes it far more likely for me to get the trilogy pack. Might have a chance to unlock some of the stuff I couldn't earn in MP3...
I played it back in February for a good 3-4 hours in total, and it was maddeningly addictive in multiplayer mode. How it stands up as a single player game I will wait to see... but it's on my US shopping list for the future.
It is a bit strange as to why not, how did Excite Trucks do in Europe? Actually I could have posted this news last week as a mate of mine contacted Nintendo personally and got the same reply, much to his amazement (both in getting a reply and finding no release for it here). Thankfully he's enjoying a US import copy at the moment. I liked Excite Trucks and have been considering picking this up (have a US Wii here), so maybe if it's about when I visit the US in July...
Just the fact if it comes out over in the West at all will be a triumph... I've seen plenty of videos, so I might give it a whirl even though I prefer one on one fighters and not the sort Capcom did with CvM etc.
Edgey is possibly more popular amongst AA circles than Phoenix, so this game is definitely one to look out for... will be buying it on Western release for day one
Yeah... argggghhhh!!! Though someone I know has apparently stated that a new publisher has been found, just not mentioned yet. Let's hope that is true...
Yeah, what I was going to say. More likely pirated up the wazoo rather than apathy and lack of wanting to play said title; I know lots of people enjoying it and lots of people with R4 devices and the similar (and have never bought a retail DS game in their lives).
Great review, still love the game to pieces after all this time; I must have played it through to 100% completion twice if not more. And Gregg the Grim Reaper was an excellent creation - trying not to spoil things but failing, then check out this two-piece of his cut-scenes (uncensored!)...

Re: What SEGA games do you want to see on the Virtual Console?
Planet Harriers (think I'm only the second person to say that!).

Re: Review: Mario Kart DS (DS)
The last line is what I concluded for my NTSC-UK review also... best Mario Kart so far

Just a pity the US version doesn't come with the boxes... still, I played this a few months back and loved it, so will be picking up the US version in due course.
Re: Icarian Gets a New Name: NyxQuest
How odd. It isn't SNK complaining it's a bit like Ikari, is it? (oh, and first!)
Re: Tingle Gets a New DS Adventure, and a Surprise DSiWare Game
The US hates Tingle apparently, so no Tingle game for you!
Quest for a wife?! Still, in the scheme of plots, this is probably one of the most unlikely and bizarre they could have come up with...
Re: Reggie Wants Your Dream Nintendo Franchise/Developer Pairings
Get Sega AV back on F-Zero, the Cube version was brilliant.

Re: Miyamoto Borking Super Mario Galaxy 2's Story
Sorry Mario, but our cake is in another princess. After the Portal gag, had to get another one in... sorry!
Re: Review: Super Smash Bros. (Virtual Console / Nintendo 64)
Still think it's deserves an 8 here at least, in some ways I still prefer it to Melee. Brawl is the defining entry in the series though.
Re: Street Fighter II's Bonus Stage: Live Action Spectacular
Oh... my car!

Re: Eduardo the Samurai Toaster Coming to WiiWare Next Monday
Blimey, so much for a slow summer, I wanted some time to catch up on a few games!
Re: Miyamoto: Why Pikmin 3 Was Absent From E3 This Year
First! At least we know for sure that something is being worked on, even if it is (sadly) slowly...
Re: Bplus Announces Bit Boy!!
Interesting concept... like Retro Game Challenge but across the full range of eras. Has promise...
Re: Red Steel 2 To Be Bundled With Wii MotionPlus
I agree with Kirk. Otherwise I am likely to end up with more add-ons that I actually need!
Re: Nintendo Download: Popstars, WiiWare Remakes and Clay Fighting (US)
Woot, Bubble Bobble finally in the US. Think I might be grabbing that and perhaps getting my bro in on some two player destruction. I wonder how much the DLC will be in the US...?

Re: First Impressions: Mario & Luigi RPG 3
Enjoyed the first two enormously, so this is a sure fire buy when it comes out in the West.

Re: Review: Sports Island 2 (Wii)
First?! So, pretty much same as before then judging by the text and score?
Re: Review: Klonoa (Wii)
Kept this one on the radar, looks like it might be a purchase now (having heard much good things about the original PS1 game but not played it).
Re: Capcom Announces Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth for Western Release
Edgey is possibly more popular amongst AA circles than Phoenix, so this game is definitely one to look out for... will be buying it on Western release for day one
Re: New Bit.Trip Game Teaser Image
Or something beginning with B... Box... Breaker... Beam...
Re: Game Play Trailer - Icarian: Kindred Spirits
As others have said, reminds me a bit of Lost Winds too... which isn't a bad thing at all!
Re: Review: Sutte Hakkun (Super Nintendo)
So like Umihara Kawase then... hard to find, expensive, maddingly addictive to play?
Re: Muramasa: The Demon Blade Loses North American Publisher
Yeah... argggghhhh!!! Though someone I know has apparently stated that a new publisher has been found, just not mentioned yet. Let's hope that is true...

Re: Review: Bubble Bobble Plus! (WiiWare)
Cummon US release!
Re: Konami: VC Arcade Support and WiiWare Life Force
Well you do spend a lot of the time jumping about in that game
Oh and that should be Green Beret - released in the US as Rush 'n Attack (it was still called Green Beret here in the UK).
Re: Review: Rhythm Heaven (DS)
My copy is already in the mail, come on postman!
Re: WiiWare Versions of Bubble Bobble and Rainbow Islands Coming to Europe Soon
Indeed, as others say... what about the US?!
Re: The End Of The World Starts In Europe
Always loved Majora's Mask, especially the tone. In some ways, it is better than Ocarina...
Re: Official Furry Legends Gameplay Trailer
Main character rather reminds me of Wizball...
Re: Two New Swords & Soldiers Gameplay Videos!
Hammer Time? Lolz... very tempted, but I don't do much RTS. Probs wait for the review...
Re: Welcome to the New Look Nintendo Life!
Yeah, was gonna ask exactly the same thing OB... people might think it was a joke heh...
Re: Review: Bit.Trip: Beat (WiiWare)
Yeah, only 3 levels? Seems the only downer. Must admit surprised to see the review so early, wasn't expecting it until Wednesday...
Re: USA VC Update: Summer Games II
Indeed... but diss the C64 at your peril, you have me to deal with
Re: USA WiiWare Update: Bit.Trip Beat
Please be good, please be good, please be good...!
Re: Review: Gradius ReBirth (WiiWare)
Wow, that was a bit surprising score wise from all the more positive views beforehand. Pity you can't try before you buy with Wiiware...
Re: USA WiiWare Update: Gradius Rebirth
Oh wow... today?! Now that's a pleasant surprise... guess I'll be firing up the Wii and perhaps downloading later then
Re: Cube: Gardens of Zen Coming To WiiWare
Hmmm... has potential, even if it is another puzzle game
