I found Hornet Man stage a pushover... Tornado Man was infuriating, so I probably vote that as most tricky to get through. It's the most "platformy" of the eight levels for starters. At least the patterns for Plug Man's disappearing blocks were not that hard to figure out. Just got Concrete Man left, figuring out the best tactic for the blimming elephants...
A review so early? I hope you've completed the game Corbie
But I'm really enjoying it so far, even though the bloody platforms on Tornado Man keep annoying me so. It IS hard, and this coming from someone who's played all six NES Mega Man titles and the SNES Mega Man 7 and the three SNES MMX titles. A lot. It's awakening parts of my skill set and tactics that had become rusty over time, practice makes perfect! I can almost get to the end of the Tornado level now most times. Once I get there, I think I should be able to complete it consistantly...
Having now played with the Classic Controller, much MUCH better than the Wii remote. Just beat Galaxy Man on the second attempt. Onto Jewel Man now...!
@Dazza - those achievements and many more are present in the Wii version too... you just obviously don't get anything by achieving them aside from smug satisfaction!
MM9 is hard... oh, no surprise to find others who think that! Played an hour and I've reached most of the midway checkpoints so far but no bosses! The rotating platforms on Tornadoman are doing my head in. I've been using the Wii remote and I think the buttons are a little spongy and not quite responsive enough. I was going to switch over to the Cube pad but if someone says it ain't working right... I guess I will try the Classic Controller instead.
Time to begin again... I deliberately quit out without saving cos I just wanted to see what all the stages were like so far... already sampled the music a fair bit due to certain "sites" hosting the soundtrack CD...
Being in the UK at least I can use the Brazil trick to use mine to put points on the account. If Bomberman is coming out that soon, I'll need some more as I spent a bunch recently and what's left is for MM9...
Probably not... and probably best to hold back while MM9 is released... as long as this comes out in the US some point next month I'll be happy. Need a large multiplayer Bomberman fix
Capcom's blog does say it is looking to make a limited number available through their store. But the store is North America only btw. Just as well I have a US address logged on my account. I'll be gunning to see if I am lucky if they put it up...
Wow that's a lot of discussion and a score I wasn't expecting... maybe I will try it out if someone else has downloaded it to see which side of the coin I fall upon... but 1,500 points is too much to risk for such a title without playing it first.
MM2 is my favourite of the original series, and was about the second game we ever got for the NES in the late 80s. Great levels, great bosses, great music... what more could you want? An easier time of things?!
Ice Climbers are not bad, but they need playing correctly. I've faced a couple of excellent IC players online, really knew what they were doing. Jigglypuff on the other hand... yeah, please find me someone who thinks she can be good!
Gradius, Megaman... maybe there is hope for an old-school style Castlevania (as opposed to the new Metroidvania type). Will be waiting for this to hit the US shops... and some extra storage!
Might have to consider this (if I can find what to delete to download it, cummon Nintendo, where's that exterior storage unit?! Another reason I haven't thought to download Toki Tori either!) as I have a US Wii and four remotes...
Wimps for those complaining... I got to play the two level demo at SDCC and yes it was hard, but I kept playing to get to the end of the levels (where I proceeded to die, probably because the bosses don't die easily to the arm cannon!). Really looking forward to the full game now.

Re: USA WiiWare Update: Mega Man 9 and Plättchen
@Chipmunk - Tornado Man should be your next target, the electric spark does him a mischief... if the platforms don't kill you first. Oh they are nasty
Re: USA WiiWare Update: Mega Man 9 and Plättchen
@Maka - you can save your progress after you complete each stage or lose all your lives. Three down now, onto Tornado Man, those platforms yummy!

Re: Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint Going Up Against Mega Man 9
Heh... well I'll be on the VC when I get home... watching it slowly download as loads of others do the same
Re: Mega Man 9 Confirmed For US Release On Monday!
Indeed... I already knew what I was doing when getting home from work on Monday
Re: Hands-on with Datel's Wireless Retro Controller
Hori or nothing is usually for me for third party controllers... I'll stick with the Classic Controller also.
Re: Bomberman Blast Coming Soon To North America
@Breaderer - no credit card?
Being in the UK at least I can use the Brazil trick to use mine to put points on the account. If Bomberman is coming out that soon, I'll need some more as I spent a bunch recently and what's left is for MM9...
Re: EU VC Releases: Master System Sonic & Two C64 Classics
Get it for the Boulder Dash goodness...
Re: Boulder Dash
The first is still the best... Atari and then C64 version.

Re: USA WiiWare Update: Potpourrii and Strong Bad Episode 2
So for those who've played it, Potpourri is like a circular version of Puzzle Bobble?

Strange and Japanese... sums it up!

Re: Review: MaBoShi: The Three Shape Arcade (WiiWare)
This deffo seems to be splitting people... had considered it, might have to try somehow before buying.

Gradius, Megaman... maybe there is hope for an old-school style Castlevania (as opposed to the new Metroidvania type). Will be waiting for this to hit the US shops... and some extra storage!
Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (27th August)
I'd love to know in the name of Satan's butthole who is still downloading Pokemon Ranch... sadly I can't argue against Marky's comments.

Re: EU VC Releases: Super Mario RPG and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels
I wonder if Terranigma will ever be released conversely on the US VC market...?
Re: Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
I take it this is still running 60Hz? Just wanted to check... I still remember buying this in the US back in Xmas 96 along with SFA2. Happy days...
Re: Luc Bernard Quits Videogame Development
I'll be waiting for a proper review of the game before making my mind up here...
Re: Mega Man 9 Soundtracks Coming To Japan
Do game CD soundtracks do well outside Japan at all btw?
Re: Pitstop II
This one was always about the two player mode anyways... and yeah Pitstop was inspired by the success of Pole Position.
Re: Goldeneye Locked In Legal Limbo
We await to be amazed if it happens down the line...!
Re: Mega Man Finally Out On Monday In USA
MM2 is pretty much the best of that series anyhows... and MM9 is gonna rock from the demo played so far
Re: Keiji Inafune Reveals More About Mega Man 9

Re: International Karate +
Three human player hacked version on the C64 is always going to rule though...
Re: Mega Man 9 - New Video, Online Leaderboards, NOT Exclusive!
It should be great whichever platform you play it on
