Re: Paper Mario: The Origami King Pre-Orders Are Now Open For Nintendo Switch

MPSSislit

@NotoriousWhiz
Walmart has recently had $60 games for $50 at launch, $50 games for $42, and so on, and it's not a temporary discount.
That being said, I also miss Best Buy's Gamer Club.
Hopefully, they'll have NSO vouchers in the future. I don't know if Europe still has them, but I know they had them even after it was "discontinued" in NA.

Re: Nintendo Says It Will Continue To Increase The Appeal Of The Switch Online Service

MPSSislit

@justin233 Hopefully, they start getting faster with the number of retro consoles for Switch Online. Maybe we'll N64 (or at least GB Family) games next month, or September by the latest.
@YourLastSurprise I believe it isn't an rights issue with Rare anymore, as the DKC Trilogy was not only added back to the Wii VC in 2015, after a 3 year disappearance, but also got added to the Wii U VC, as well as DK 64 getting added to the Wii U VC, not long after that happened.

Re: The Next Update For The Panzer Dragoon: Remake Adds 60fps Support, HD Rumble And Gyro Controls

MPSSislit

@JayJ
Why do you think the negative comments are "from haters who never even played the game?" πŸ€”
I think the game looks fun, (I got more interested once I realized it played like Star Fox), but the issues kind of put me off from getting it, as I feel it's slightly rushed.
I think most people are just put off by the issues, that have appeared either in the Remake, or were from the original game and stayed in the Remake.
Mainly, issues that appeared in the Remake.

Re: A "Bonus One-Off" Splatfest Will Take Place In Splatoon 2 Next Month

MPSSislit

@fadedcolors
Yeah, I guess they could do that.
Who knows, maybe they'll start doing that after this "Bonus one-off".
I feel like my Splatfest theory is starting to come together.
(Which was, that at E3 if they were going to do another Splatoon 2 tournament after the tournament was finished, announce that Splatfest are coming for (at least) another year, now that New Horizons has released)

Re: A "Bonus One-Off" Splatfest Will Take Place In Splatoon 2 Next Month

MPSSislit

@fadedcolors, @MoonKnight7, and anyone else who's wondering why Nintendo stopped doing Splatoon 2 Splatfests.

  • I believe it's because they were shifting their focus to New Horizons, so they stopped doing the Splatfests, since the Splatoon and Animal Crossing are the same developments teams within Nintendo.
  • Hence, that's part of the reason why New Horizons got delayed, was so that the team didn't get burned out as they were shifting their focus to New Horizons.

Re: Review: Panzer Dragoon: Remake - Doesn’t Quite Nail The Landing

MPSSislit

How hard is Panzer Dragoon? πŸ€”
I've heard it can be hard, but I don't know how hard it is.
(Is it more like Dark Souls hard, Mario Sunshine hard, etc?)
Also, are LRG versions always more expensive? It's $40 for the physical version, and $25 for the digital. (That's a ridiculous jump).
So, should I wait for the physical version, or should I get the digital version, if I were to get it? πŸ€”

Re: Star Wars Episode I: Racer Speeds Onto Switch Next Month

MPSSislit

@mesome713
How you played it, or owned it before? πŸ€”
I can get what you mean with the price, but it's Star Wars, though.
We haven't had a good Star Wars game, in quite a few years. (Besides for Jedi: Fallen Order, that is)
I mean the graphics don't look that great, but do many N64 games look good nowadays? πŸ€” (Some do, but not many)

Re: Star Wars Episode I: Racer Speeds Onto Switch Next Month

MPSSislit

@NintendoWiiDS
I mean, 5+ years ago, I thought that I'd most likely never see a lot, if any, retro Star Wars games getting re-released at all.
Here we are, 5 years later, and we already have have Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, and Episode I: Racer. So, I think anything might be possible at this point, but I get what you mean with EA, though.

Re: ESA Locks In The Dates For E3 2021, Will Take Place Next June

MPSSislit

Can someone please tell me why people aren't as into E3, as they used to be?

  • I get the "leaked info" fiasco that happened last year would put people off, but what I'm confused with is the "it's not as good as it used to be". (I only watch the E3 Direct, and some of the Treehouse Live @E3 segments. So I might have a bias, if that makes any sense).
  • Also, I thought people made jokes about IGN (in particular, their reviews), so why are some people more excited that "E3" is being done by IGN, rather than the ESA?

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Sixth DLC Fighter Is From ARMS

MPSSislit

@Franklin
Okay, Thanks. πŸ‘ I've downloaded some stages (10-15), but didn't know how to delete them. (In case I wanted to, that is).
Yeah, that's quite odd for sure.
Yikes. 😬 How long are the stages up, before they get deleted? πŸ€”
Haha, good point. πŸ˜†
Also, what did you think of an ARMS characters being the next fighter in Smash Ultimate?

Re: Star Wars Episode I: Racer Is Aspyr's Next Nintendo Switch Release

MPSSislit

@Ryu_Niiyama
My guess is "The tragedy of Solo at the box office" completely bombing. (Which then Disney did their "re-thinking" of their Star Wars strategy). Then, around this time last year, Disney started hiring people under the Lucasflim Games banner, but Disney later said it wasn't a revival of Lucasflim Games.
I'm guessing that's when they started hiring people to find a developer to re-release the older SW games.
Here's a link to what I mean:

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Sixth DLC Fighter Is From ARMS

MPSSislit

@ReaperExTenebris
Okay, that makes sense.
I can see where you're coming from, regarding Snake and Bayonetta, especially Bayonetta.
Haha, that's true with Twintelle. I guess I didn't think about it like that, since Nintendo doesn't usually go down that "fan-service" route. (The other fan-service route however, is a different story).

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Sixth DLC Fighter Is From ARMS

MPSSislit

@ReaperExTenebris
Okay, that kind of makes sense. I never thought of ARMS having fanservice before. (Now DoA, those games has a ton of "fanservice". Never played them, just what I've heard over time).
Oh yeah, the infamous "unwritten rule" about Assist Trophies.
So, why don't you like Waluigi?
Also, why don't you want Crash in Smash Ultimate?
With Medusa being creepy, I just feel like she doesn't fit the tone of Smash Ultimate (and Smash as a whole), if that makes any sense.
Maybe as a Spirit, but not really a fighter, IMO.
Well, we which have our own tastes.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Sixth DLC Fighter Is From ARMS

MPSSislit

@WreckitRyan
I think that's a good idea, but I don't think NintendoLife got tagged with your message, so I was going to share it with Ryan Craddock, if you don't mind, that is.

Just wanted to let you know.

(Also, are you interested in the ARMS fighter? I couldn't tell from your comment)

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Sixth DLC Fighter Is From ARMS

MPSSislit

@iSmokeWii
Okay, I get where you're coming from.
Shovel Knight would be cool, but like I've said earlier, the "unwritten rule" of Assist Trophies, (and Spirits?), becoming fighters (in the same game) is probably holding him back from being a fighter.
However, the ARMS fighter could break that rule, especially if it's Spring Man, since he's an Assist Trophy (and a Spirit).
So, who do you want to be in Smash Ultimate, then? (Besides Shovel Knight, that is)

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Sixth DLC Fighter Is From ARMS

MPSSislit

@Wel2TheJungle
Okay, I get where you're coming from.
I do agree that Byleth didn't earn a spot in Smash Ultimate.
That's just because they were just another Fire Emblem character.
However, I'm actually excited for the ARMS character.

  • Well, I feel like the unwritten rule (can't be a fighter if they are already an Assist Trophy, a Mii Costume, (or Spirit?), in the same game, that is) unfortunately applies here for Shovel Knight, and Bomberman, (and Shantae?). Phoenix Wright I'm not sure about, TBH. (Although, Rayman could work, and it would be cool to see him as a fighter).
  • I feel like Geno has a chance to become a fighter because with each DLC (Smash Wii U DLC, Fighter Pass 1) there has been a Square Enix rep. I know Geno is a Spirit, however the ARMS character may break the "unwritten rule" of Spirits can't become fighters, since (at least) 3 of them are Spirits.

Sorry, that was kind of long.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Sixth DLC Fighter Is From ARMS

MPSSislit

@ReaperExTenebris
Okay, that makes sense.
Yikes, I didn't realize that about EA. Thanks for "educating" me.
I understand where you're coming from, regarding Byleth and the ARMS character. (I'm actually excited for the ARMS character, as weird as that may sound).
Although, I was disappointed with Byleth, not because it was another sword fighter (I don't mind there being a lot of sword fighters, as long as they're "unique", like Hero and Cloud), but because it was yet another Fire Emblem character.
Those are some cool choices, although Medusa might be kind of creepy. Haha
Personally, I would want Crash to be a fighter, but if that doesn't happen, I'm not going to be upset. (As long as the rest of the fighter pass is "decent").
I'm not sure if there's going to be any more Nintendo fighters (expect maybe Waluigi), because the 1st Fighter Pass only had one Nintendo fighter, so maybe it will be the same case for Fighter Pass 2.
Okay, that's good that I'm not asking too many questions.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Sixth DLC Fighter Is From ARMS

MPSSislit

@ReaperExTenebris
Okay, that makes sense.

  • Uh, if you think Smash is affected by greed (I don't think it is), you should consider EA. (Modern EA, that is).
  • So, who do you want to be in Smash Ultimate, then?

EDIT: I took out the first question I asked, as I now understand your comment. (I misunderstood it the first part of your comment, initially)
