Re: Splatoon 3 Expected To Receive New Balance Patch Update Soon

Pretty happy with where the meta is right now other than crab tank. It could be nerfed by shortening its duration, giving some mid-line weapons better object damage, and buffing Zipcaster and Trizooka to counter crab meta.

Don’t expect it now but would like to eventually see some slight changes to some stages, like Undertow and Scorch, which they did occasionally in 2.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 18th)

LiNeR

Going to explore some more in my first playthrough of Super Metroid. Banger game.

Also been way to into Splatoon 2 multiplayer the past few months. Made it to S Rank in Splat Zones and trying to do the same for the other modes.

Might dip back into Nintendo Switch Sports, been a hot second since I’ve played it.

Re: EVO 2022 Announces Its Smash-Free Roster Of Fighting Games

LiNeR

Exciting to see King of Fighters XV and Guilty Gear Strive offline and Skull Girls fanbase has always been cool to me but I feel like we’ve seen the enough of MK11, SFV, and T7 which are the premier fighting game franchises.

Edit: by this I mean each of those games in their franchises (MK, SF, and T) are not considered the best from a technical community perspective and we’re expecting new releases from them this new gen in the next 1-2 years potentially.

Re: It's Official, Nintendo Has Withdrawn Super Smash Bros. From EVO 2022

LiNeR

Following Nintendo teaming up with Panda to create a circuit I had hope for the future of their relationship with the competitive Smash Community, but now not so much. Based on past relationships Sony was probably fine with Smash being there, actually they probably reeealllyyy wanted it their, it being the modern best selling “fighting” game. Nintendo simply just didnt want a sony logo on the stream and PS5 ads between sets. This is a purely harmful move to the Smash community. EVO for the longest time has been the most important tourney (either it or Genesis), its absence harms the smash community’s late summer schedule and many west coast community members alot.

Re: Feature: Our Predictions For The February 2022 Nintendo Direct

LiNeR

My predictions:
-Starts with the announcement of a Brand-New Fire Emblem in the style of Three Houses but with a big new twist
-Koizuimi introduces the Direct
-Kirby and the Forgotten Land gets a new trailer that focuses on the story and world.
-3-4 Switch is announced, showing more people laughing than gameplay. It is a sequel to 1-2 Switch with expanded 3-4 player multiplayer modes.
-Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters are announced for Switch coming in the Summer.
-Fall Guys is shown and it will come later this month.
-Xenoblade Warriors is shown and it will look exactly like it sounds like it would look, except story will be a bigger focus like in AoC.
-Koizuimi says he has someone to introduce.
-Nogami shows up and talks about Splatoon for a very long time and we see another trailer and then they announce a splatoon direct for March.
-Koizuimi does the “one more thing” bit
-Mario Kart 9 is revealed revolutionizing who and where the Mario Kart series can feature.

Re: Nintendo & Panda Unite For "First-Ever" Officially Licensed Smash Bros. Championship Circuit In North America

LiNeR

As a huge competitive melee fan this is HUUUGE. Nintendo had been shutting down some tournaments earlier this year (which is unheard of) and now their licensing a circuit? A whole circuit? It being with a decently big organization like Panda is dope too. Although the ruleset and price pool might be bad, how well this turns out depends on who the tournament organizer is and what the commentators make of the whole deal and what players enter of course.
