Re: Watch: This Is What Grand Theft Auto Definitive Trilogy Looks Like On Switch

I'm playing SA on Xbox Series X and it's great so far.

For perspective, I find the original GTA trilogy (PS2/PS4 releases) borderline unplayable today due to the horrific controls and framerates (but I can still play PS1 RE games and have no problem with those controls...), but this remaster is a VAST improvement. It still feels a little janky, but is much better and I'm enjoying playing this game again.

As for the graphics? Much better, runs smoother, and the animations are more or less the same.

I personally wouldn't buy them for full price (I rarely buy any game full price) but for $30-40 it's a no brainer if you were a fan of the original games.

It's essentially the same game in terms of looks, animation, design, everything. It's been upgraded over the originals in terms of visuals, controls, etc. A new game engine, yes, but it's still basically the same game in every way.

RE2 for PS4 was a remake, as the whole game was completely overhauled from the original and shared almost nothing in common with that game other than some shared story elements.

When you have people here complaining that this game looks like only a marginal improvement over the original, I think that lends more weight to this game being a remaster and not a remake.

Again, the people who made it don't call it a remake. If they felt it was such, they would advertise it as one. Call it a remake if you want, but in the opinion of the developers, you would be wrong.
