I think most people prefer Secret or Revenge, I was under the impression only kids who never played the originals considered Curse the best. Yep, the first is the best for me. I'll likely avoid this new one, as the price is a bit too high for me, but I would love to see the originals make it to Wii; there's no need for them to be HD, so why should the PC and X360 have all the fun?
This is a massive step up from the original Wii Sports. My favourites are the table tennis (which more than makes up for the lack of "proper" tennis, in my humble opinion), the sword fighting, the basketball, and the plane flying. Any one of these could be a great game in its own right, so to have them all in one package is a delight. The cycling is completely broken though, which is bizarre, as everything else works really well. I don't think I'd go as high as 9/10, but it's a strong 8 definitely. I haven't played it in multiplayer yet, so that may push it up a point.
but if you're a multi-platform owner you can definitely do better in terms of FPS games Sod multi-platform! Just buy a copy of Timesplitters 2 or 3 for Gamecube!
I still think the Wii has a potentially brilliant control scheme for FPS games, but it doesn't look like we're quite there yet.
I'm probably going to get this over Galaxy 2. I've always preferred 2D over 3D for platformers, and it'll be great to see a 2D platformer with all the power of a current generation console behind it.
I could see cricket working really well on Wii. The Wiimote could be used for batting and bowling, obviously, and they could use a similar idea to the jogging on Wii Fit to simulate the running. Not sure about fielding though.
I'd be happy with Earthbound, Yoshi's Island and N64 Mario Tennis. It would be nice to have access to GameBoy and GBA games, but I'm not holding my breath on that.
Oh and it's not Virtual Console exactly, but downloadable add-on tracks for Mario Kart Wii would be amazing. They don't even need to come up with new ones, as they've got at least five games' worth of tracks from which to choose. If they can do song packs for Guitar Hero, they can do track packs for MKW.
I never had much of a problem with the open world in NMH, as I wasn't looking for a GTA experience from the game, and I'm not sure any such thing was really intended; if anything it's a parody of GTA style games. Still, I won't complain about having more to do, and the cycle of jobs-combat-bosses did grate a little, so I'm keen to see it varied. I'd agree that a boss rush setting would be really fun, too.
Master System: Alex Kidd in Shinobi World, Populous, Psycho Fox and Phantasy Star. I know the latter has been confirmed, but it wouldn't hurt to hurry it up a bit!
Sonic CD would be nice (with a soundtrack choice if possible), but I'm not holding my breath. And while the Amiga versions would be best, I wouldn't say no to the Mega Drive versions of Cannon Fodder, Chaos Engine and Sensible Soccer, although I doubt Sega would have much control over their release.
Oh, and EA Hockey obviously, although there's probably no chance!
I must have missed PES '09, but I really enjoyed '08, and I thought the gamble taken in the innovative control system really paid off. It's easily my second favourite footie game (after Sensi, obviously). My only quibble was the lacklustre multiplayer; I miss the cooperative play of FIFA.
I don't really understand the fascination with first-person shooters, but since they have (unfortunately) become a mark of how viable a console is, I'll be interested to see how The Conduit does. I do think the Wii has a great control scheme for the genre, and I'd love to see a good game make use of it.
Honestly, I think I would have preferred Super Mario Kart. The original Smash Bros has been superseded in my mind by the superb Wii version, but there's still lots of play in SMK, even with the newer release. Oh well. I know lots of people will be happy about this, so it's all good.
I'm not really bothered with Blu-Ray just yet, and I can't justify getting a PS3 just for the third Ico game, much as I want it. And I certainly won't be getting an X360. So I won't be "upgrading" any time soon, and even if I did, I wouldn't be putting the Wii aside for it.
Yeah, he doesn't look that much more mature than his Twilight Princess incarnation. I was expecting a grizzled veteran. There's certainly a sword-like visual to the other character. The defined lines, the colour, the general "sharpness" of the shape. She also looks a little zora-like, and there's a hint of those werd teleporting chicken things from TP too.
@thewiirocks, I was talking more about the Wiimote. My Wii is still a pristine white, but some parts of the Wiimote have taken on that yellow colour I remember from my Amiga days.
I would hope that we get a combined Wiimote/MotionPlus before the next generation. I'd like to get two more Wiimotes, but I'm reluctant to do so knowing that they'd be "incomplete". I'm happy to upgrade the ones I have, but I'd like any new ones I get to be all-in-one.
I'm not interested in new colours, honestly, although any colour other than white will mean no more of the "yellowing" effect. What I want to know is if they'll incorporate Wii Motion Plus into the Wiimote.
What this also indicates is that the Wii has plenty of life left in it as a system. Unless they're prepping this for dual release on Wii2, but that I doubt.
I am so excited for Super Mario Kart. I hope we don't have to wait too long for it. @Chicken Brutus, the SNES original used to be my favourite entry in the series, but Mario Kart Wii has just edged it out.
Piracy only hurts the gaming industry... Indeed, but on the other hand, if a bunch of guys in their bedrooms can enable a USB HD, why in the heck can't Nintendo? I don't care about backing up my games, but the extra storage space for VC/WiiWare would be handy. I've got a 50gb partition going unused on my HD I could use for it.

Re: Super Mario Land
Still a great game. One of my favourites, certainly!
Re: Nintendo Download: 28-29 July 2009 (Japan)
Ninja Ryukenden, which gamers elsewhere will recognise as Ninja Gaiden
And to Europeans as Shadow Warriors!
Re: Limbo down to the Wii Sports Resort beach party (UK)
No beach party in Brighton, where there's, you know, a beach? Tsk.

Re: Daft Punk Gets 8-Bit Makeover
It's still there if you look in the right place for it...
Re: Doc Louis's Punch-Out!! - First Screenshots
I'd imagine that he'd be quite tough to beat, otherwise it's a pretty pointless add-on!

Re: What Capcom games do you want to see on the Virtual Console?
Any of the Marvel beat-em-ups would be nice, and Resident Evil 2 is a must.
Re: What SEGA games do you want to see on the Virtual Console?
Phantasy Star (released in Europe I believe)
Yep, definitely released in Europe. Great game.

Re: Suda 51: I'd Love Travis Touchdown to Star in Smash Bros.
I'd love to see Travis in the game. If the dull-as-mud Snake gets in, then why not Travis?

Re: Super Mario Galaxy Shines in 720p
Does it change your mind about their HD standpoint?
Not really. I still don't see the point of HD for movies and TV, let alone video games.
Re: Review: Deadly Creatures (Wii)

Ding! You win a prize!
Re: Infinite Space
While I'd love to see something like Elite, I'm just pleased to see a CRPG doing something other than the usual fantasy approach.

Re: The OFLC Rates More Capcom and Sega Classics for Virtual Console
Finally! Some news on the Phantasy Star release! About time.
Re: Review: Ghostbusters: The Video Game (Wii)
I wonder if we'll see the C64 version released to the Virtual Console?
Re: Shia LaBeouf Disses the Wii
Best chuck my Wii in the bin then! Oh wait, not on the say-so of a celebrity loser!
Re: Review: Ninjatown (DS)
I just played the demo download last night, and I thought it was excellent. I'll definitely be getting this one!
Re: Capcom Not Ruling Out Wii Street Fighter IV
I can't say I'm too bothered with the prospect of playing SFII again, only with ugly 3D graphics this time.

Now Cave Story would be an instant download!

Music rentals? That's... odd.

That should be "you're". Sorry.

Re: Miyamoto Keeps Check On The Opposition
@Prosody, at least the PSP Go won't overheat and burn down your house!
Re: Suda51 Has Bonkers Ideas For Wii Vitality Sensor
I'd imagine it'll probably be some kind of pulse-related minigame. Something to do with stealth, or the shuddering sniper rifle in Metal Gear Solid.
Re: New Super Mario Bros. Wii E3 Trailer
Looks good to me. I'm glad to see 2D games making a resurgence too.
Re: Confirmed: New Super Mario Bros. Wii
I would hope for a wide character selection.

Re: Tales Of Monkey Island coming to WiiWare
"How appropriate; you fight like a cow!"
Good news I suppose, but I'd still much rather have the original Amiga version of SoMI on Wii.

@Chicken Brutus, the SNES original used to be my favourite entry in the series, but Mario Kart Wii has just edged it out.
Re: Alien Hominid Joins The Meat Team
Yeah, I'd second a call for WiiWare Alien Hominid!
Re: Famitsu Brings Us Desperate Struggle Updates

Re: Nintendo Download: 19 May 2009 (Japan)
As I remember, the Master System R-Type is one of the better home ports, with some unique features.
