Legally using a MiG Switch seems a little absurd. If you don’t want to switch cartridges just buy digital.

@anoyonmus If you take into account that we’ve been paying $60 for AAA games since 2017, adjusted for inflation that would be $78 today.

As someone who has around 600 physical switch games, I for one will be going mostly digital on Switch 2. The reason why is the FOMO generated by collecting physical games got to be too much and the reprints pretty much sealed it for me. All I have to show for it is a room full of games that cost $35 -$60 a piece that I could have got on the eshop for $5 - $20.

Has anyone seen the size of this download yet? I know I’m at the mercy of Nintendo servers but I’m on a fiber network and I’m at 50% with 20 minutes to go.

@Bizzyb I was only able to put 1 in my cart the first time even though it said limit 2. The way they are shipping the game out first and the other stuff later made me think this was an open preorder.

I have great memories of playing this with my son when he was 9 or 10. We never finished it because it started getting to difficult for him. Maybe I’ll try to convince him to go back and finish it with me.

It seems to me that if they where really that talented, they could come up with their own original game.

@BloodNinja my point was that while EA is 100 times worse than Mercury Steam, EA doesn’t care about your personal boycott because they are going to make money. On the other hand this may hurt MS unfairly because none of these allegations have been proven. It’s a few ex employees complaining about a former boss at the time of a huge release. I don’t want to defend them if this turns out to be true but I also don’t want to rush to judgement if it isn’t.

It’s funny how quick people are to cancel a small company over some former disgruntled employees when things like this have happened at the biggest corporations in the world for years.

@Tailesque it would be nice to have the d-pad for some of the shine spark puzzles. Hitting the down on the stick needs to be more exact. Otherwise I agree with you.

@link3710 I just finished the stadia demo for this game and I can assure you it is a Breath of the Wild clone.

I don’t like it. Now scrolling through, if you missed the title you have to scroll off the highlighted game or wait for the slides to cycle. I don’t use the eshop much. I prefer dekudeals.com.

Just finished Timespinner and I have to say it’s the best indie game I’ve played all year.

I can’t believe how many commentators have more than one version of this game. There is no way I would reward a developer that put out a bad version on one system by buying it again on another system.

@switchforce @jonobgood I just got confirmation via twitter from Frozenbyte that only 4 will be on the cartridge.

@SwitchForce I was speaking generally. I would have canceled my preorder had there been a download code inside. Sorry for the misunderstanding. The last game I bought with a code inside was RE revelations and I wish I would have just waited for a sale on the eshop.

@SwitchForce Thanks! I definitely won’t buy physical with download codes. I would just stick with eshop sales for those titles.

@jonobgood could you give me a source on that? I’ve googled and went on the Frozenbyte site and haven’t seen anything about download codes except the soundtrack.

@gloom GameStop is charging $40 for the first 3 and the stand-alone 4 is $30. So think of it as a $20 savings.

It’s also not instilling any confidence in future updates.

I was almost tricked by the original “physical” version of Hollow Knight. I had to research it because the description on the site never said anything about it being just a code in the box.

@GetShulked It could have been so much better. The camera makes this game almost unplayable. I guess they all can’t be Mario.

With no links to buy on GameStop or Best Buy, this article seems less informational and more of an Amazon ad.

Started playing again when I picked up Let’s Go. I hope the Mario Kart app works as well with MK8 as this game does.

I can almost guarantee that these will sell out in minutes and there will be just as much complaining about not being able to get them.

I wonder if this will affect pre loading software. Will Nintendo want to use bandwidth to send gigs worth of data to someone that cancels at the last minute?

I own every Ubisoft game on the system except Uno.

This is one of my all time favorite arcade games. I can remember taking $1 to the convenient store by my house and buying a coke, a candy bar, and playing this game. Then when I had finished the coke, I turned the bottle in for a dime and had enough change for another quarter to play again.

Does anyone else think this whole delay has something to do with the paid online service and not wanting to give it away for free and then start charging for it later? I am assuming that games like Arms and Splatoon will continue to be free online after the paid service launches because it will be hard to justify.

The NES version does not do the arcade game justice. This is my my all time favorite arcade game and the NES port was very disappointing.

@kobashi100 yes I know. My point was that I wish whoever is publishing these games would announce them sooner. I would wait for a physical release. Thimbleweed Park has been out for 6 months. If they would have announced this 3 months ago I would have waited to buy it.

@full_metal_opera me neither. I got Steamworld Dig 2 on sale and they announced the physical the next week.

The way physical releases get announced, I have a lot of anxiety when purchasing digital games. I have already been burned on Steamworld Dig 2 and Overcooked. I almost bit on Golf Story when it was discounted but I resisted. From now on I will only buy digital when I’m 100% sure there will be no physical release.

@HauntingNostrils The correct terminology here is “cracker” and not “hacker”. The media has made hacker a bad word but what these people have technically done is called cracking.

Loving the first one. The only problem I have with it is the pro controller doesn’t support gyro controls so I play mostly handheld mode.
