Re: Nintendo Is Announcing "A New Way To Play" Later Today

JuleyJules

All I can think is that it has something to do with amiibos and this would make me very happy if we could actually start using all the amiibos some of us have been collecting all in one game. It would be different for everyone based on what you have.

The other thing I thought of is virtual console and possibly, hopefully a streaming service for it this time.

At least we don't have to wait long!

Re: Big Ant Studios Would Love To Bring Ashes Cricket To Switch

JuleyJules

Even if it only sold in certain regions around the globe others could get it since the Switch is region free if they wanted. It's not a sport I enjoy but maybe if it comes out then maybe Rugby League live 4 or Rugby 18 might be released in some markets too. For example, Japan gets lots of games other markets don't and that's fine - everything doesn't just have to come out worldwide or in the US.

Re: Rumour: EA And Nintendo Looking To Rekindle "Unprecedented Partnership" On NX

JuleyJules

The more support the better on the NX. If EA (or someone else) pushes Nintendo to add more ways to stream media content and there is more 3rd party support it will be a good thing. We can't all like all games on any system but choice is a good thing.

It will also help the console sell better than the Wii U if it has more 3rd party games alongside the fantastic exclusives Nintendo is known for like Zelda, Metroid, Mario, Splatoon and maybe Bayonetta 3 etc!

They need to step it up with a variety of bundles that people want and options that appeal to lots of people. The Wii U seems to be very geared to just Nintendo franchises and that has turned off many publishers. Time to step it up and work with companies who abandoned the company in the current generation. Clearly Nintendo cannot compete without the support.

Re: A 'Big' Nintendo Announcement is Coming on Monday

JuleyJules

I really hope this "big announcement" was NOT that Minecraft is coming out on December 17th. If so that will be very disappointing since it was leaked weeks ago, then removed and now confirmed. Hopefully it is actually something big that we haven't heard about like the Smash Ballot and/or more MK8 DLC since there is lots of maintenance later today on lots of games and online services.

Re: Editorial: Cheer Up, There Are Some Exciting Games on the Way

JuleyJules

Sure there are Arkham Knight, Star Wars Battlefront and, oh wait, you mean from Nintendo. Uh, I guess with X, Star Fox and Yoshi but not for a while. Mario Maker looks fun but what about the other games they don't care about. What are their names again, uh Devil's something and something Frame.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Software Update Will Unlock amiibo Functionality With Themed Mii Racing Suits

JuleyJules

It's smart of them to have Amiibo functionality on 2 games right off the bat with more to come. They haven't told us everything we can do with Amiibos in MK8 so the costumes could simply be a way to add a little something extra to the game besides what you can do with the actual amiibo character that's in the game. I guess we'll find out more very soon. After the direct I hope there's a SSB Wii U demo - after all the 3DS got one before release.

Re: New Nintendo Direct Airing 5th November

JuleyJules

@CaptMcCloudAran Like you I hope we see surprises. We already know about SSB but announcing a demo available after along with a bundle and/or game promotion like MK8 would be great. We want to hear about unannounced games like F Zero, Metrroid and maybe an HD remake would be great. Info on new features that are coming would be good too. As for other SSB info I'd like to see some crazy thing like Bayonetta coming as DLC would be very cool! Though I doubt they'll announce them release dates and new VC systems would be a good thing.

Re: Project CARS Delayed to March 2015 on PS4 and Xbox One, Wii U Still Stalled with '2015' Window

JuleyJules

@SCAR392 hopefully it's not like Ubisoft! Let's hope they've already got the Wii U team in place working on that version and the others finishing up the rest of the versions so they all release together. Ubisoft put all teams on all versions other than Wii U (or so it seemed) and the nut them back on Wii U's one after they were done. We can hope Slighty Mad hasn't done the same. This could just be due to November being an extremely busy release month.

Re: Project CARS Delayed to March 2015 on PS4 and Xbox One, Wii U Still Stalled with '2015' Window

JuleyJules

@SCAR392 Why would Wii U be part of this announcement? They've already said it was delayed to 2015. They don't need to announce today that it's coming in 2015 as we know that. They did need to say that the other versions are now also delayed to then. Hopefully they release them all together but time will tell. If they do the Wii U version could do very well due to lack of competing similar games on the system.

Re: Project CARS Delayed to March 2015 on PS4 and Xbox One, Wii U Still Stalled with '2015' Window

JuleyJules

Hopefully this means the Wii U version is releasing in March as well and the others have just been moved to coincide with that. The Wii U version has been the most wanted version for a long time when they were doing the polls to see with PC second. There aren't any competing games on Wii U so it could do well. PS4 and Xbox One have other games like this that people are looking forward to already.

Re: Extended Nintendo Network Maintenance on Wii U and 3DS Scheduled For 13th March

JuleyJules

@Yoshis_VGM Last month's Direct was hardly major especially if you're a Wii U owner. imo it was EXTREMELY disappointing for Wii U. Hopefully if there is one it has a bit (if any) 3DS new and loads for Wii U. They really need one for Wii U to calm fans down, get up the excitement and show what's coming. Maybe Baseball is coming and the idea of accounts not tied to systems would be great especially if they announce a special edition bundle for Mario Kart 8 or something!

Re: The Next Batman Game Is Arkham Knight, And No, There Won't Be A Wii U Version

JuleyJules

@Shroom_Muncher I'm not regretting my Wii U but I'm tired of games not coming to it. However, I think Nintendo needs to step it up and do something about this. For one thing 3 months between games like SM3DW to DKC:TF to MK8 is ridiculous! How do they expect to sell systems and attract 3rd party developers like that? They've got to release games like they do on 3DS and have 2 or so at a time or in the same month. After all on May 2nd TWO games are coming to 3DS from Nintendo! That never happens on Wii U but it needs to so while it sucks WB is not bringing this game to Wii U who can really blame them??

Re: DFC Intelligence Lowers Wii U Lifetime Sales Forecast, But Supports Holiday Releases and Strategy

JuleyJules

@Warruz It's very true as the PS4/Xbone are getting a lot of the same games with a few exclusives - even if it's more than before - and Wii U will continue to have more family oriented games and other exclusives like Super Mario 3D World that can't be found anywhere else. As the great games come for Wii U sales will go up and it might be the companion system. I think that now that PS4/Xbone are out the talk about "next-gen" will die down as they are now current-gen along with Wii U. As that happens it'll be back to the way things have been for a long time now. Sony & MS will battle it out for the top and Nintendo will sneak up in between them as they appeal to a different set of gamers in addition to some who don't simply go with one company and that's it.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Resilience Against Wii U Criticism Emphasizes Its Longevity

JuleyJules

@Blastoise-san I find that so irritating too. This past weekend here in Canada there was a great deal at Future Shop where you could trade in any game for PS3/360/Vita/3DS or Wii U for AC4, COD:Ghosts or BF4 (on PS3/360). The staff told me it was current gen systems only. When I asked why Wii games couldn't be traded they said it's only current gen. Uh, Wii is current gen - Wii U is next gen! I was irritated they didn't see it that way! So what Nintendo released two systems in one generation? That makes no sense!

Re: Iwata: Wii Fit U's Free Trial Period Will Improve Wii U Sales Momentum

JuleyJules

@TruenoGT Usually in NA things are available after noon EST. A few more hours and time to download. I'm looking forward to using the wii fit meter to keep track of things when I'm away from home and maybe it'll be motivation. That combined with Zumba next week should help keep fit over winter before running season again in spring!

Re: EA's Financial Figures Reveal Dismal Wii U Software Sales

JuleyJules

I love how they don't release anything for 7 months, put out crappy ports of games, bash Nintendo at every chance they get, publicly come out and say they are avoiding Nintendo systems with new games like Fifa, Madden and Tiger Woods and THEN they release news like this! More reason not to buy EA games again. Plus if it's only 1% of sales if they didn't make money they certainly can't be saying it's because of Nintendo or the Wii U. Move on and keep putting out annual games that are not much different year after year. Pathetic!

Re: Soapbox: The Wii Changed The Face of Gaming, Before The Console Industry Promptly Forgot Its Lessons

JuleyJules

I barely play any Wii games now since they're a pain with a separate menu. That has improved with updates but I wish you could just insert a disc and it would bring up the appropriate way to start - gamepad or wii remote. Personally I love the Wii U as I'm playing games I never could before like Assassin's Creed, Batman Arkham City and next year Bayonetta 2. However, it will be great getting games like Wii Party U this week, Wii Fit U, Wii Sports Club and Mario & Sonic at the Olympics in the next few so that others will enjoy the system too. I think we'll see a change when people can play familiar games and over time some of them will try new games. Down the line there will be lots of games coming for fans of Nintendo games to keep us all happy with Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country:Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros 4, Yoshi etc!

What we do need to see very soon without a doubt is advertising. Casual gamers and families aren't going to know the Wii U is there once PS4 and Xbox One come out in November if Nintendo doesn't step up advertising AND have a new Nintendo Direct at the beginning of November. They get a lot of press when they have them and people talk about it too.

Re: Talking Point: New Super Luigi U Opens The Door For Quick Expansions in Other Franchises

JuleyJules

Just downloading now and will give it a go later on! Other ideas for a game to add DLC on to get players back playing is Nintendo Land. They could add in some other franchises they might be bringing back down the line. There was an article recently that Reggie said they're thinking of ones to revive. Put them on NL to guage response by fans. Also, for NL it would be great, if they aren't doing a full Wii U Sports, to add some of those games into NL as other 'attractions' that people could play. It could get some other casual fans playing again. It's still a pain to have to load the Wii menu to play older games.

Re: Rumour: Best Buy's Wii U E3 Demo List Revealed

JuleyJules

@zeldagaymer93 Someone on miiverse pointed out that Nintendo has always been very secretive. It's possible that Reggie will announce others on Tuesday after the Direct. I do hope they have learned and we'll see soon. They need to show big system sellers. In any case I'll be at Best Buy on Wednesday!!

Re: Rumour: Best Buy's Wii U E3 Demo List Revealed

JuleyJules

They better not be! We’ve heard of these games for 6 months. They need to have Zelda: Wind Waker, 3D Mario, Mario Kart and maybe Pikmin 3. Luigi U is bloody DLC. They need to blow people away and the 4 above wouldnt do it. They’ve said Mario 3D and Mario Kart are at E3 as playable demos.

Re: Ian Livingstone: Nintendo Should Have Their IP On Every Platform

JuleyJules

"Nintendo should have their IP on every platform. Otherwise a whole generation of young people will miss out on their games."

If these young people want the games buy a Nintendo platform. If you don't it's your loss for missing them! Nintendo had games on other platforms like Atari 2600, Intellivision and Colecovision when they started out. Then they brought out the Famicom/NES. Since then they've not been on anything but their own. Why on earth would this change now? It's not like Nintendo is in trouble or anything of the sort. These idiots need to accept this and buy a Nintendo system instead of wishing, praying and saying stupid things like this. If that's the case Microsoft should put Halo on other platforms and Banjo Kazooie on the Wii U. Sony could put out Little Big Planet on MS and Nintendo too.

What is the chance of any of that happening? About the same as Mario on anything but Nintendo I's say.

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U's Next-Gen Challenge Starts to Take Shape

JuleyJules

@Peach64 I completely agree. Sony and MS continue to be threats and competitors. I think Nintendo know what they need to do to turn things around just as they did with the 3DS. If the big games start coming out and there's still low sales then yes Nintendo would be in trouble with the Wii U. I don't see that happening though.

One thing I don't think fans of Sony and MS foresee is trouble with convincing the public to upgrade. I think they have a steep hill to climb just as Nintendo did. The marketplace is different than before, they're still supporting PS3/360 with no backwards compatibility and the price could be high based on specs. After the fans rush out to get them it'll be interesting in 2014 to see what happens. I've read so many times in articles that people are planning to wait to see what happens. Time will tell.

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U's Next-Gen Challenge Starts to Take Shape

JuleyJules

I vaguely remember talk a few months ago that there will be Wii U Chat to mobile devices. If that happens then the chatting would be more useful. For now I have yet to use it. The usual topic that more games are needed continues to come up but I think that starting with Wario in June to the end of the year we'll see lots of games a lot more often. At the moment the talk is that there are not enough games; later on I think it'll be there are too many great games to keep up with.

Re: EA Developing Frostbite Engine For Mobile, But Not Wii U

JuleyJules

@th3r3ds0x
Exactly! This will come back to bite them in the butt. When PS4/720 come out and struggle for sales in this new market EA will see what all this crap has done for them. In the meantime Nintendo will be releasing their big name first party games and interest in the Wii U will go up. Christmas time will come and kids will be wanting their Mario Kart, Mario 3D etc.
