I was lucky enough to get the Special Edition, but since I am a bit of a vet I will be going with Conquest first. Surprised they got rid of weapon durability, those debuffs must be pretty nasty.

I still have a copy of Cybeast Falzar, and let me tell you DustCross Falzar is broken. I can kill Navis with a charge attack with that combo. Not to mention DrillCross. So many memories and such fun.

@Xilef The Wii U version was part of the original Kickstarter, they can't cancel it without refunding the money.

I respect them for actually being honest and saying they don't want to create a lazy port of the game. This is nothing like the SMS situation with Project CARS as we had no word AT ALL on the progress of the Wii U version. I will happily wait, as this kind of honesty makes me have more faith that they will deliver.

@ShadJV Well, I do technically have the money right now. You guys have convinced me, I just pre-ordered it. They better not charge until it ships, because if they charge me then I will be cancelling my Gamestop preorder, although I may just do that anyway to cover costs here.

I'd love to preorder from Amazon, but I don't have money. Additionally, I have a gamestop pre-order already paid in full. So I think I'm just going to wait to see if Gamestop gets the limited edition for pre-order, I should know by tomorrow or monday. If it does then I'll just switch my order over to the LE and make small payments up to release. Otherwise, I'll just cancel at GS and pick it up on Amazon. Looks like Amazon is the only retailer who has it right now.

@Varelius I had always heard it was server based, guess that would explain a few things. Where did you get the stability stuff in the DMZ from my post? I was just explaining it how I was told it works, with it essentially being an area outside of the firewall. I guess I could see how that is port forwarding.

@shani Splatoon is a server based game, it is not P2P. When is says partner device it means sever, if it was P2P we would be getting Smash Bros level lag. And the internet issues are a US thing, internet sucks over here. Google Fiber can't get here fast enough.

@Mikau94 Level has no bearing on how good you are. Levels are the same thing that are in CoD, just bragging rights and proof that you play a lot.

@Skywalker There is a serious misconception about gaming. I hardly uses any bandwidth. Videos are what use the most, by far.

@Mush123 I've got 25mb download and I can run a skype call (no video) and play Splatoon in Ranked and I rarely have a disconnect.

For those having issues with Wi-Fi connections, there are two things you need to do. First, go into your internet settings and choose to manually set up a connection. You'll want to go here for instructions on how to do that: http://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1643/p/431. Play around with the ip address settings until you find a good set-up, you'll want to base your custom ip address off of a computer that doesn't get a lot of traffic, (you can access your computers ip address by opening the command prompt on windows systems and tying "ipconfig" and press enter. The number you want is your IPV4).

Once you've manually set up the connection, go into your router setting and enter your firewall settings, in there is a thing called the DMZ. What this is a small partition outside of your firewall that allows free access from any system. This is usually only something you do for consoles and NEVER (unless absolutely necessary) for your personal computer as it makes the system vulnerable to hacking. Just enter the IP Address that you used for the Wii U into the DMZ settings and save and quit. This should help fix any issues you're having with connectivity.

It looks like it will be two different versions according to Nintendo's page on Amazon. Of course this is North America, don't know about UK. UK page just has a stock photo of a box with Fire Emblem Fates printed on it. No other information is given.

@Grumblevolcano I have tried it with the physical version and it does not work with just the gamepad. The only versions that support gamepad only are the full retail VC releases of games that support the classic controller. In other words, if you want to play with gamepad controls, you need the get the Eshop version.

@iskim They wouldn't be that stupid. They already know how big of a deal this game is, restricting it to those of us who have the income to get to New York to grab it at the World Store would be a stupid decision.

@SavoirFaire GS had a third party retail exclusivity agreement, not the publishing rights. Nintendo can do whatever it wants.

@Grumblevolcano Nintendo still controls the publishing rights, it would be no different than Nintendo selling copies of Xenoblade Chronicles on its website, which was the only other way to get a physical outside of going to gamestop. Shouldn't be an issue.

I am so glad to hear that we are getting a special edition in the US, I have over half of my regular edition paid off. I just need details on the special edition so that I can go pre-order it. Now, Nintendo, follow suit and give us Xenoblade Chronicles on Virtual Console NOW!!!!!

I'd go to gamescom if it didn't cost me thousands of dollars for the plane tickets, food, housing, and passes to get to Germany. Not to mention the passport wait times. In other words, I'd go to gamescom, if I lived in Europe.

I'm still bitter about Crysis 3. It was supposed to be a launch title and EA said NOPE before the console was even released.

Wow, on the my castle mode for Fire Emblem. From what I gathered with my limited knowledge of japanese and context it seems to be more involved than just a FE x AC mode.

Every time I look at this I have to remind that this is the alpha version and it looks this good. Game's not even gone gold yet, this is gonna be sick. Great job @Manfred keep up the good work.

@TechJunkie69 I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen, they are hyping it to all get out after all. They would end up killing their own hype machine if they don't release a bundle in the west, seeing as the game is more anticipated in the US and Europe than it is in Japan.

I didn't think my hype could go any higher, then this direct happened. Do we have a date for the combat focused direct?

@CapnPancakes Keep in mind that it took the creator of the game 300 hours to finish it, imagine how long it'll take us to finish it.

@Quorthon And they pushed it to 2015 at E3 last year. I highly doubt that it will take a year or more to localize this game.

@Subie98 Blame Nintendo for not giving us a release date yet. Although, honestly, I don't really care right now since college is about to start back up next week. I'll have more time to play this in the summer anyway. They can take as much time as they need to finalize the game, it is Monolith Soft after all. The longer they have the game, the better it will become.

@Quorthon That's just it, it's not tentative. At all. Also, the first game barely got any mention outside of Japan before its release. The only info we had on it before it dropped in Japan and was heralded as the JRPG savior it is, was a trailer at E3 2008. That's it. This game has been shown off at every major press event that Nintendo has attended, or hosted (Nintendo directs), for the last 3 years. Not to mention the fact that the game was talked about worldwide before it was announced. I'm sorry, but in this situation, your logic does not hold. Due to the way Nintendo has handled this game's information and due to how widespread that info has been, I think it's a pretty safe bet to assume that this game is not getting the Xenoblade Chronicles treatment. It's getting released outside of Japan as soon as it is ready to release outside of Japan. They just need a little more time to finalize the localization.

@Quorthon The game is done. It's releasing in Japan on April 29th. The rest of us Americans and Europeans are getting sometime later this year, probably just after E3.

@platoonleaderg Soraya Saga has retweeted both the EU and the JP direct announcement. Based on her track record, this is pretty much confirmation that XCX will be shown in the Direct. Since it's focusing on games releasing from now into spring of next year, if it shows it will be released in the spring.

@rjejr You don't play as the amiibo, the amiibo is controlled by an ai. That ai learns how you fight and levels up as it learns. You still control your own character.

@Yurikun GS determines their purchase orders based off of preorders. So if you want your local GS to stock a game, pre-order it.
