Re: Review: Mario Kart DS (Wii U eShop / DS)

Intrepid

I was extremely good at snaking and consistently broke time trials records and won online races (except when AR cheaters were playing). People who were complaining about snaking being a cheating technique/not being able to do it always confused me because it was relatively easy to learn and pull off with minimal practice. It isn't a glitch; just because it wasn't an intended technique doesn't mean the player is exceeding the limits of what the game is allowing them to do. There is no glitching or hacking involved.

Re: Talking Point: New Nintendo 3DS, Operation Faceplate NA and the Bigger Picture

@Rocky2418 Yeah, the same same color can go through different shades across systems. I remember not liking the blue of the normal XL and waited a black one instead. Now I find a blue I like and we can't have it. If there wasn't any region lock this wouldn't have been a problem.

Sorry to hear that you also got screwed out of a color you wanted. Hopefully Nintendo will release the Metallic Blue system over here eventually.

Re: Talking Point: New Nintendo 3DS, Operation Faceplate NA and the Bigger Picture

Intrepid

The thing that bothers me the most, and that I have not seen mentioned, is that the Metallic Blue color for the XL was changed to New Red for the U.S.. Blue is my favorite color, and while I'm happy for the people who like red, I don't want the system unless the blue color comes over here. I lost interest in the New 3DS instantly because of that.

Re: The November Club Nintendo Rewards Are Now Up For Grabs

Intrepid

If Nintendo actually had a few decent physical rewards and a better selection of digital games, the service could be turned completely around. As it stands though, it seems Nintendo just wants to make our coins expire...

We've seen most of these games before too, which just makes it worse. An option to convert coins into eShop credit would be amazing, not that I would ever expect such a thing too happen.

Re: Wii U Owner Proves That Rejecting The End-User License Agreement Locks The System

Intrepid

It's really the principle of the matter. Someone should not be locked out of their console just because they disagree with some of the terms (they should still be able to use it offline at least if that's what has to happen). I trust Nintendo and would agree anyway, but letting Nintendo make changes without further permission is kind of worrisome. For example, I've seen user interfaces for computers and phones change over the years, and I never liked the newer ones. If they automatically changed without giving the option to update, then I wouldn't like that.

Besides, with the potential for updates to brick or cause glitches, I would rather download later than others so I can see if there's a problem with a particular update before I determine it's safe.

Re: Exclusive: TriForce Johnson Announces The Legend of Zelda: Order Of Time YouTube Series

Intrepid

You know, I never really understood the fan timelines and the official timeline with the branching paths. I always felt it was one flowing timeline, with Ocarina of Time -> Majora's Mask -> Twilight Princess -> Wind Waker, in that order.

As soon as Link was returned to the past by Zelda at the end of OoT, the future timeline ceased to exist, because Zelda then told everyone about Ganon's plot and he was captured before he could act upon the events that created the future timeline. Link then went to Termina and never returned, and TP Link stepped in to stop Ganon in his absence. Then the Great Flood from WW occurred an unknown amount of time after the events of TP. Of course, I haven't played these games in a while so I may be missing some details, but that's roughly how I see it.

Despite the cries of some stating it's useless to consider the notion of a unified timeline for all the games, it's definitely an element of the Zelda series I find fascinating.

Re: Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2 Confirmed for October Release Worldwide

Intrepid

Of all the things Bamco had the ability to bring over, they chose this awful thing. It's things like this that force me to import much more worthy Bandai Namco games, like Girls und Panzer: Senshado Kiwamemasu for Vita. I would have liked an English version of that, but it looks like they have their hands tied with Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2 instead.

Re: NES Remix Titles Coming in Physical Version to North America

Intrepid

As a physical gamer who downloaded NES Remix a few days ago as my platinum reward, I'm pretty damn upset. If Nintendo had announced this sooner, I would have gotten something else.

Don't get me wrong; I'm happy to see this get a physical release and will happily get it all the same, but I'm very annoyed that my platinum download is effectively wasted now.

Re: Cross-Buy is Now a Thing on Nintendo Platforms

Intrepid

A third-party game in one part of the world get's this feature, and the title makes it sound like it affects everything now. Even the subtitle made no clarification about it. Seems a little unfair that NL would allow such a misleading title to appear on one of their articles.

Something like this would have sounded better:
Title: Squids Odyssey to be Cross-Buy on Nintendo eShop
Subtitle: First instance of Cross-Buy on Nintendo Systems

That way, there's no raised expectations going into the article. Just my opinion.

Re: Feature: 10 Nintendo DS Games We Want To See On The Wii U Virtual Console

Intrepid

I would really like to see Advance Wars, Trauma Center Under the Knife 2, Ace Attorney, Okamiden, and Golden Sun the most on WiiU VC.

I just realized: This may be a new way for Capcom to release Ace Attorney Investigations 2, as it's to late for a retail release, and there's no sign of 3DS getting DS VC games. Not saying Capcom would do it, but it opens up a new possibility to release the game w/o a retail release.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Games We'd Love to See in 2014

Intrepid

No Advance Wars? We need a new game already; last one came out in 2008. I would prefer a Days of Ruin sequel to the regular series though, because I feel Black Hole invading for a 4th time is just unoriginal.

Paper Mario: Origami seems like the next logical step for a series based on paper, but with origami instead of flat characters, the game may as well just be a non-Paper Mario 3D platformer to begin with.

Re: Nintendo Direct Focusing On Wii U And 3DS Games Coming Spring 2014 To Air Tomorrow

Intrepid

Completely unrealistic, but the one game I want more than anything would be a new Advance Wars. I don't care if it is a sequel to Dual Strike or Days of Ruin, or whether it is on the 3DS or WiiU (which is possible now with the Gamepad), but it needs to be made. It is long over due.

Most likely though, it will just be about previously announced games like DK, MK8, Mario Golf, and Kirby Triple Threat. Not as exciting to me, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Re: Weirdness: Amazon Plans Drone Air Delivery Service for 2015

Intrepid

I feel it is easy to be negative and to focus solely on what could go wrong with such an idea, but the truth is that has not been tested yet,and we should give it a chance before bashing it.

Regarding theft of packages and using shotguns, it is just as easy to do that right NOW as it would be with a drone. In fact, it would be stupid to use a shotgun to shoot down one of these drones, as that would would easily bring attention to whoever fired it due to how loud they are. The replacement cost for these drones would also be a good deterrent.

Assuming the item broke in transit, or the item fell and was lost, it would be simple for Amazon to reimburse the buyer, and from how it looks in the video, that yellow box is latched on to the drone pretty well.

New ideas and inventions have always been met with derision and skepticism, but it would be pretty cool if Amazon could pull this off. I personally am excited to see where Amazon goes with this.

Re: Toon Link Adventuring Onto Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS

Intrepid

I remember, both here and on Miiverse, telling people that the Spirit Track Link screenshot meant nothing, as ST Link is completely different than WW/PH Link, but nobody listened. I have no idea why they assumed he wouldn't be in, as WW HD would keep Toon Link relevant as a character, and because Smash Bros. has had a second Link since Melee.

Re: CoroCoro Magazine Reveals "Mega Evolution" and Three New Pokémon for X & Y

Intrepid

@AlexSora89 No matter the reason, if a pokemon is hacked, it's hacked. It has no rightful place existing at all, and I definately don't want it in Gen 6. If a game doesn't let you transfer, you should move on and enjoy the new game, instead of mourning the loss of pokemon that were literally made in less than 5 mins. Seriously, hacked pokemon don't require much effort to make in the first place, so I don't see why people complain as if they had invested their entire life into training them, because they certainly did not.

Re: CoroCoro Magazine Reveals "Mega Evolution" and Three New Pokémon for X & Y

Intrepid

As for sending Pokemon from previous games, I'd rather we start fresh. The Pokemon from the GBA/DS gen could be hacked to have all sorts of stuff on them, so if we started new from 3DS onward, we could avoid that. Besides, if people send all their old pokemon over, they may as well not even bother getting X/Y, as there would hardly be a difference. They would prerty much just use the same team they always have.
