This must be an inside joke Capcom employees discuss during lunch or something. "Hey guys, I have a great idea! Lets tell the fans on the forum that if they're vocal enough, we'll consider and acknowledge their complaints, but instead ignore them and do what we want anyway, and then blame them for not supporting the series. It'll be fun!"
@WaxxyOne C stick manipulation is so important. I can move pikmin to the side if a boulder is rolling at them, or throw them behind a wall and force them over to something without moving the pilot (there are situations like that). I can also use it to make pikmin pick things up instead of individually throwing them one by one or dismissing the whole lot. So much control and flexibility is lost by removing this. Controlwise, Pikmin 2 beats this one to a pulp.
As for targeting, I'm sure I'll master it in time, but really I should be able to have all of my Pikmin move to a wall if I dismiss them. Charging, imo, is a nice bonus from targeting, but it should not be the only way to effectively knock down walls.
In, short, I feel limited in what I can do because of not being able to use the C stick. There should be an option to switch the functionality of the right stick between camera and C stick. I don't want to sound like some whiney complainer, but this is a serious issue to me, and I need to find some way to accomodate this terrible control issue into my gameplay.
But yeah, I'm fairly certain that Capcom will cover their ears and bury their heads in the sand rather deal with this. It's just like them to ignore such demand. I swear, if we do get a physical release, I will probably be so excited about the box that I'll forget to play the game for at least an hour after getting it, lol.
@DerpSandwich Agreed. As a Pikmin veteran from the Gamecube versions, I find this version's controls inferior. There is no c stick to manipulate pikmin, so I have to dismiss or throw them each time I want to have them interact with something. When I dismiss them next to a wall, not all of them move to it and the rest remain idle. Targeting is also something I cannot consistently pull off. It's also annoying that I cannot switch between captains with Y if both are under my command. I have to dismiss everybody, recall my pikmin, and then switch to the other captain. Is anyone else experiencing the same issues? There are other minor annoyances, but overall this is a beautiful game that was worth the 9 1/2 year wait.
The thread on Capcom Unity for a physical release has almost 200 pages, and Capcom still refuses to comment. It may as well not exist to me is it isn't physical, so I'll have to skip it. I love Ace Attorney with a passion, but Capcom is in the wrong for limiting consumer's options and alienating their fans.
Great article guys, but you forgot to mention one of the things Pikmin is most famous for: Steve! Steve rose from the ashes to become the trooper he is today, and is worthy of the greatest respect.
But seriously, I can't wait for Pikmin 3. I've been waiting over 9 1/2 years for it.
I don't think they give us enough credit. I'm sure a lot of us could actually do decently well on it, and even if we don't, it would be a good learning experience. Capcom could put a disclaimer on the e-shop if it's really that big of a deal. I don't like the idea of things being left out.
@bezerker99 So Miiverse is irrelevant to you, that's understandable. I use Miiverse rarely, but when I do, I see yeah spammers and people asking for stupid characters in SSB. It's enough to drive people insane. So yeah, I personally still think it sucks.
I commented there last night. At this time, there are 64 pages and counting, from Ace Attorney fans all over the world. Even if you are skeptical that it will work, it can't hurt to voice your concerns. The sheer amount of comments in a matter of hours is a good sign that this could be successful. So everyone, go on there and show your support! We have nothing to lose.
I hope Sakurai takes care of himself. Fans campain and complain to him all the time, but they don't understand the strain Sakurai is going through to choose the roster, as well as everything else the game requires. Sakurai's health and sanity should come first. A video game, even if it is Smash Bros., is not as important.
Personally, I would like to see Issac from Golden Sun in the game. He has the psynergy and the diijin to be a viable character, and Golden Sun has yet to be represented with a playable character in smash Bros.
@InfernoHamadi He will probably stick around, as Smash Bros. has had a second Link since Melee. Toon Link is my favorite, as I get the advantages of close and long range attacks with added mobility (regular Link is terrible at running and jumping compared to Toon Link). Besides, Wind Waker HD will keep him relevant enough to remain in the game. Why do you want him out anyway? You never gave a reason, so I'm curious.
It could have been better, but for what they did do, it was great. I most likely will get most of them, and I look forward to the time where there are enough WiiU owners to justify the releases we were expecting this year. In the meantime, we have:
Pikmin 3 Wonderful 101 Game and Wario Yarn Yoshi Mario 3D World DK Tropical Freeze Zelda Wind Waker HD New Super Luigi U Smash Bros. Mario Kart 8 EarthBound Sonic Lost Worlds Mario & Sonic Zelda A Link Between Worlds M&L Dream Team Pokemon X&Y Project X Bayonetta 2 Rayman Legends Ace Attorney 5
How anyone can complain after all that is just amazing.
@UnseatingKDawg I remember hearing something about it being a seven game series. But it prematurely ended after Black Knight because it wasn't popular enough. Maybe Sega will risk a third game and end it as a trilogy.
@RupeeClock It's funny that you said that, because I was reading more about the game that inspired Lost World, Sonic X-treme, and they did just that. The staff was working sixteen hours a day for a fall '96 release, and didn't make it.
As for the third game, I have no idea. It could be anything!
After E3 2012, I vowed to myself not to get too excited, only to be severely disappointed instead. This E3 sounds amazing, but I'm still going to air on the side of caution, and go in with no hopes or expectations.
@Juklium Agreed. The only thing we have over Europe is downloadable games, but Europe has points cards, a Mario Galaxy soundtrack, and a Mario Figurine, not to mention the Mario Kart 7 trophies it had. Europe is way better.
As for the green bag, I didn't want it anyway, but I also didn't know about it because I never expect Club Nintendo to actually put anything good up. I'm pretty sure we'll get a terrible platinum reward as well this year.
@Alienfish I haven't finished Skyward Sword either. I'm currently in the desert getting the second flame, but I just don't have the time of day to finish it. Now that it is summer, I think I'll pick it back up.
@Fusion14 I keep hearing bad things about the game. Without most of the other games to compare it to, I can't immediately call it bad. I remember reading about how it was a remake of the NES game and that it was chronolgically the first in the series, so I thought it was good. I never finished it because I don't allow people to die, but from what I played, it was fun.
I have Sacred Stones as an ambassador and I am loving it. I got past the spider map just a while ago.
No one has really used backwards compatability for Xbox games because most were either not compatible/not good. So when they say only 5% of people use that feature, it is their own fault for making it that way, and they shouldn't act under the assumption that no one uses it because it doesn't matter to people.

Wow, I had no idea. I myself had only bought Shadow Dragon before this one, so I wasn't really a part of the fanbase. I'm glad myself and so many other people gave this game a chance, and secured a future for the franchise.
Nintendo will probably make another Mario Strikers game anyway. I honestly don't like EA and their attitude toward Nintendo, so I'm perfectly fine with them leaving the WiiU.
I agree with the amount of silly comments for help on Miiverse. People are too afraid to do anything, or don't know how to do it altogether. Here's a thought: Instead of turning to Miiverse every minute and waiting for a response when they get stuck, why don't they just use a walkthrough? They may not learn how to play it on their own, but at least we are spared reading their ridiculous comments. Super Metroid is bad enough, but then you remember that these people are the same kind of people that can't even figure out DuckTales.
I feel, in hindsight, that that was something I should have already known, but I failed to considerer that basic fact when I made my last comment. You are right: marriage is no longer controled solely by religion. However, my opinion on marriage still takes religion into consideration, regardless of whether it is civil or religious marriage.
You make a good point on divorce. I feel that divorce is more acceptable to people because it did happen in the past. Usually it was reserved for only the worst circumstances, but over time, people have convinced themselves that their situation is bad enough to warrant a divorce when it isn't. Because of this, the phrase "until death do us part" loses a lot of significance when more people keep divorcing. This sends mixed messages to their children, who witness marriages falling apart both in real life and in the media, and come to the conclusion that when they marry, it isn't as forever as they say it is. Those words of staying together are now just empty words that are repeated back as part of the vow, with both people understanding that they have an easy way out should any problems arise. It's actually quite sad.
I didn't mean to get on a tangent, but you reminded me about how I feel about divorce, and there most likely won't be any other chance to discuss it. That being said, I wonder how Tomodachi Collection handles it.
The U.S. Government guarantees freedom of religion. If the government legalizes gay marriage, they will force churches to go against their religion by marrying gay people.
Remember, marriage is a religious ceremony performed by ministers. Since any homosexual behavior is frowned upon in the Bible, churches have the right to protect their religion by refusing to marry gay people.
Capcom has placed us in a precarious situation. If we refuse to buy the game because there is no physical copy, they will use it as an excuse to say that there is no market for Ace Attorney in the west, and we wont' get any more releases.
However, I am one of the many people who prefer physical copies, and I am now forced to buy the game digitally to ensure that the series is supported. If I remember right, sales data from Nintendo suggests that 1/3 of their game sales are from digital, so they actually stand to make less money this way. Whichever route Capcom chooses, they are going to blame the fans for not buying it, and not their terrible business decisions.
Besides the physical/digital debate, I take issue with Phoenix's voice. It sounds too childish for someone in his mid thirties.I also liked Kizuki Kokone's name as it was; Athena Cykes just sounds ridiculous.

Re: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies Players "Won't Feel Lost" if They Haven't Played Earlier Titles
@Tasuki The thread was created by Hours Left, and Sven made it the offical thread to ask. However, anyone who works at Capcom has the responsibility/ability to comment, but they choose not too. I'm positive Sven at least made sure that others knew of the thread's existence before leaving. Another employee by the name of Chris seems to be the most likely to respond, as he dealt with a similar thread that can be found here:
