I was so excited when I happened saw the notification that night and raced to snag one. Then I told my dad about it and he ordered one as well.
Next morning mine was cancelled for "payment info discrepancies".
My dad still has his processing, but he's not holding his breath.
I just realized...
I've seen plenty Sonic OC, (Iwata save us).
I've seen Zelda OC (Toon style FTW!).
Splatoon OC, (of course).
Pokemon OC, (haven't we all?).
Animal Crossing OC, (duh, whole point of the game).
@NinChocolate By then we'll be playing NES on the microchips in our brains, cruising our flying cars across the Martian landscape and sipping Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters. I suppose the old geezers up at the retirement dome might want those oldfangled controllers though.
It bugs me to no end that they have springs for arms. Like, I know that's the gimmick of the game, but what about in the characters spare time? How do they function with giant springs and punching glove for limbs!? Going further, how do Inklings transform everything on their bodies into their squid form? How come Mario can breathe underwater only sometimes? What's the inside of a pokeball like? Does Wario have lips? Gah! So many questions!
(SPOILERS, I guess...) The easy way to beat the Hinox is to lure him over to the tree house. He can't reach you on the platform, but his eye is right there and an easy target. Then you just glide down, hack away until he gets up, then you run back up on the platform. Repeat!
I'd like to play a proper Pokemon game on Switch. The classic games (Blue, Gold) were my jam when I was a tween, and I'd think the Switch could be a perfect home for Pokemon. Next gen graphics, enormous regions, maybe more interesting plots...
My first experience with Sonic was Sonic Advance 3. Then it was Sonic Heroes. I quite enjoyed both. Hated Shadow the Hedgehog, never really liked Sonic Adventure 2, loved Colors on DS, loved it a little bit less on Wii, and that's it. Kinda interested in Mania, but I think I'll wait until the Holidays or something.
@OzHuski Trolls gotta troll. I happen to really enjoy amiibo. As a kid I always wanted Nintendo toys, but the few that were made (that I could find) were usually cheap and dumb looking. Then I grew up, and now I can collect amiibo (high quality, inexpensive statues that also offer ingame bonuses) and World of Nintendo (average quality, inexpensive action figures). Being an adult with money rocks!
You wanna know something weird? My sister is playing Twilight Princess HD, and opened her Wolf Link amiibo. She has not done the Cave of Shadows yet. When I load Wolf Link into Breath of the Wild, he has the full 20 hearts. What's up with that?
Well, I'm liking it a lot so far. But there's still some issues that need to be addressed. Also, it feels pretty awesome to play a new Zelda on a new console for the first time, (I've always been a generation or two behind.)
I've already got it on Wii U, but I want this for the Switch. Portable Mario Kart is always the best, and the extra content is enough incentive for me to double dip. Plus, my boy Bowser Jr is back! Yay!
I'm excited, the Switch will be perfect for me this coming year. I'll be on the go a lot, and having the full console experience right in my hands will be perfect. Thanks, Nintendo!
My family is always busy on the go, so me being able to whip out my Switch and play a few races of Mario Kart with them without being tethered to a TV is an exciting prospect.
@rjejr I don't think it's so much that they can't fit the game in, it's just that Activision is making a quick cash grab with a lazy port. Superchargers performed poorly, and the Racing mode in Imaginators was just so they could squeeze some more sales on the Vehicles. But they could have just as easily added Vehicles to this one. Activision's been mismanaging this series for years now, and it looks like they just hammered one more nail into the coffin.
Also, what's to stop me from going out, buying a bunch of figures, loading them into the game, and then returning them to the store?

Can we go back to when Fidget Spinners and Tide Pods were the hot new things?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 28th)

That thumbnail is terrifying.
Re: Rumour: LEGO Dimensions Has Apparently Been Killed Off
I love LEGO, and have enjoyed their games, but man, Dimensions was hard to get into.
The prices were/are exorbitant, the IPs were weird, the portal had to be kept close, and worst of all: the 'update data' kept 'failing to upload'.
Pretty hard to play the game when you have to wait hours for it to update, only for it to 'error'.
Re: LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 on Switch Will Be Exactly the Same Version as Other Platforms
Neat. LEGO Marvel was one of the best games in the series.
But I'm still going to wait until it's $20 next summer.

But I don't think I've ever seen Mario OC.

@Ernest_The_Crab I discovered that on my third try. Frustratingly, I only threw a cheap weapon over, in case it vanished.

@invictus4000 It'd likely be $16 now. The price of amiibo keeps going up.
