@ImagineerNik Look at the comments this game has been receiving since it was announced, a certain group of people have been unreasonably mad that a game exists and isn't aimed at them. Why bother promoting it to people who have already decided it's bad? The target audience seems excited enough.

A lot of people in the hardcore Pokemon communities hate X and Y, but they definitely do not represent the majority and aren't worth paying attention to. For most everyone else, X and Y were great. There's not much to complain about in them, unless all you care about is the metagame and hardcore challenging content. Even then it basically comes down to "no battle frontier".

I'm not getting hyped up for this reveal though, especially as it's coming around the same time we'd normally expect news on the next movie. If there is a reveal for a new game, it'll be on the English Twitter/Facebook/Pokemon sites before the magazine is out anyway.

Kamen Rider for the EU? That sounds very unlikely, especially as that's a Skylanders style game.

@Chrizzel28 When people ask for strong female characters, they typically mean well written. Simply adding characters who are perceived as "strong" isn't (necessarily) what people want. But this isn't people complaining bout inequality, the problem here is that the Zelda series has a great cast of characters, so if you're going to do a multiplayer game, why are we simply playing as three copies of Link? The costume gimmick seems kind of cool, but I would have found it a lot more fun if it were actually different characters you could swap between.

In the larger picture, the Zelda games are always about the descendant of the chosen hero and there's really no reason that one of the descendants couldn't be female. The idea that the hero needs to be male because only males can be heroic is pretty understandably offensive.

@shinokami The data for them wasn't in the game original, it was only added with the Mewtwo patch. And throwing in sound and music files for a third party character like Ryu doesn't make sense if they were just considering him.

@BensonUii They're not going to do that, because they don't want to force people to buy things like DLC to play their games. Their meant as a utility to enhance the games, not a core requirement.

And you complain about feminism and "white knights" while proving exactly why they exist. You can be bigoted/sexist/homophobic/whatever all you like, but people against it have just as much right to speak out about it.

@BossBattles Sure, women have breasts. But most with such a slim figure don't have such large ones and most of them generally don't like to wear almost nothing in public, particularly in combat and/or when trying to take over the world. If you don't see how it's a teenage fantasy, you're blind.

@Kaze_Memaryu It's "Mr. Peepers" and he has never officially been called that. The fact the ducks are also part of the character is probably why he's just "Duck Hunt" though.

@Donutman Even if the surprise us with a release date, it definitely will not be before Mario Kart. Even June/July that some people are hoping for is extremely unlikely.

Good. Stop shoehorning "western" features into Final Fantasy and give us a traditional entry again.

@ikki5 Bearing in mind that those are Wii point cards. Not 3DS or Wii U ones, only the Wii. And before the Wii U launch there were almost always out of stock. Not to mention how horribly expensive they are.

@sleepinglion Like all of those free Virtual Console games you guys can get on Club Nintendo? And the constant updates you get to the catalogue?

Europe hardly gets any of this stuff, yet whenever we do get thrown a bone, it seems the US fans complain about how we always get everything, which simply isn't true.

The censored versions actually look a lot better. The Japanese ones are costumes that no female would ever wear. Even for Japan, those are pretty dumb.

@ikki5 Steam went down BECAUSE of the free game and it was back up within a matter of hours. Sony suffered a major security breach and had their systems back up after a week, giving people a pretty significant amount of compensation in return.

What's sad here is that Nintendo's servers were down for almost two full days because of heavy traffic, nothing more. I'm not demanding compensation, but I also don't we need to all turn into fanboys, defending Nintendo's every failure. They should have expected this to happen (especially when they released Pokemon Bank at the same time) and should have been adequately prepared for it.

And no, unlike Steam, PSN or Xbox Live outages, a lot of people couldn't keep playing their games. It was fine for those of us who've had the systems for a while, but anyone who bought a 3DS or Wii U at Christmas was totally unable to any games that were bundled in those packs, because they're all digital downloads. That was the big problem.

Thanks for posting this. Was debating whether or not to pick up the Windwaker bundle or the big Mario one from the official store, this makes that choice much easier, especially since I only really cared about 3D World.

@McHaggis When these guys are officially shown, it's just going to be on the main website with some pictures of them and details about what they do, so I wouldn't really call this spoilers. It's not like they're going to add DLC to the game with mystery surprise Pokemon to catch at the end, it'll be a simple wi-fi event that we know about well in advance.

When people were leaking details about the new Pokemon before the game was released on the other hand.. that I can agree with.

@ngamer155 I said third party characters should be iconic, not Nintendo ones. Sora and Lloyd may have been in some modern games that were fairly popular, but that doesn't make them well known and certainly not iconic. You may not have known who Snake was, but that doesn't change the fact that he's from one of the biggest franchises in gaming history that dates back to the 80's.

@ngamer155 Third party characters are being kept to a minimum and I'm pretty sure they won't add anyone who isn't iconic. Everybody knows who Sonic, Megaman and Snake are.. but Lloyd Irving and Sora?

A Final Fantasy character might make sense, but let's stay away from Kingdom Hearts.

I wonder if we're going to see MH4 announced at E3. 3 seems to have done well enough and the new promotion in Europe has certainly boosted the amount of people playing it.

@Crazybrain1 Mature doesn't have to mean explosions and violence, just that the story telling should be more advanced and not treat the audience like babbling idiots, which is exactly what Other M did.

Does everyone in America have selective amnesia? We rarely get promotions like this, we usually have to wait months for game releases, our club Nintendo is never updated and we have to pay more.

As soon as we get something remotely interesting or an early release, all the comments turn to "argh, Europe gets everything!". You guys had a free game promotion for registering a 3DS a few months back that we didn't, this is basically a much worse version of that.

@SCAR392 People continue to donate so that they can get the rewards and so developers can continue to add more features to the game and/or polish it to a higher level of quality. Creating games is expensive and without the backing of a publisher, the developers themselves have to front the money, which is why the goal for many projects is so high.

If you don't like the idea of crowdfunding, you're under no obligation to help them get funded.. but games like Wasteland 2, Project Eternity, FTL and Broken Sword 5 are games that would NEVER be made if they were relying on typical publishing deals.

These aren't actually "officially" being released in the west, they're just Japanese imports. You'd actually probably save a lot of money by just going directly through a Japanese retailer like AmiAmi.

Yes, sales are up, but it probably has more to do with the fact that Amazon just slashed the price of the Wii U by £70, no? The massive discount is a much stronger explanation than the internet fanboys currently complaining about the Xbox.

@Peach64 Thank you for bringing some much needed sense to these comments. Game development staff change all the time, it's not something that's exclusive to Rare and I don't know why it's constantly brought up when they're mentioned.

Also, Nuts & Bolts and Viva Pinata were fantastic games and probably would have been loved by most people here if they were on Nintendo systems. They're easily the amongst the most underrated games this generation.

@DanielHPoetry That's also been on the DS for a very long time. The sequel that's coming is a completely new game for the 3DS.

We've been expecting DLC for Sonic All Stars Racing for a while, I'd guess this is it. Although if it does happen, Sonic is a shoe-in for the new Mario Kart as well. I'm definitely thinking guest characters, over full blown cross over though.

@Buzzthebatgirl Probably not very much. CoroCoro was officially released today and the Nintendo site has always been updating on the same day, since the games are being released internationally simultaneously this time.

@Denkou "Cultural differences" are also used to defend the sickening amount of sexism in Japanese mediums. It's not an excuse and shouldn't be any more acceptable than discriminating against someone's race would be, which for the record, would also be completely fine in certain cultures. That doesn't make it right.

Whether Nintendo want to be part of the debate or not is irrelevant, they're picking a side by removing the option.

@Rensch You can only ride the goat in the city and only the goat. Maybe that's something we'll see expanded upon in future games, along with character customisation. Here it just consists of picking between the three pre-sets, light, medium or dark skin.

Red and Blue on the Virtual Console, maybe? It would seem like a great way to hype up X & Y and get older fans interested again.

@GamecubeLad All of the Pokemon games were translated by freelance translators (some of whom post on other forums) up until Black & White when they shifted over to doing everything in-house.

I doubt they'd accept this one because of it now and there'd be a stupid amount of legal ramifications to sort out for including fanwork in a game, even with the creators consent. All in all, it'd be easier for them to just do the job themselves.

Frankly, I think this new design is awful. But those of you complaining about how all new Pokemon are terrible or that only the original games were good, just sound like ignorant hipsters. Yeah, the original games were fantastic, but please take off your thick rimmed nostalgia glasses.

Since when was Nuts & Bolts badly received? It had very positive reviews and still has a very large fanbase. Hardcore Nintendo/Banjo fans complained that it didn't feel enough like the originals, but that's one of the biggest hypocrisy's in gaming. People complain about games like CoD and Assassins Creed being the same every year and then when a developer releases a genuinely original and very good game, people complained that it was too different.

Rare also made Kameo and Viva Pinata under Microsoft, which were equally amazing games that just sold badly. Why would Microsoft want Rare to keep making games that sell badly? This is why Nintendo sold them and why Microsoft put them to work on things like Kinect Sports titles.

Microsoft didn't kill Rare, the fans did.

@Bluezealand Lego Batman was probably the worst of the Lego games. Lego Batman 2 however, is easily the best and the Wii version lacked a lot of the features and mechanics that made it so good.

I'm not sure there's much reason to bother now, especially with Lego City Undercover and Lego Marvel coming out later in the year.. but if you haven't played this one yet, it's very much worth the time.

@Peach64 Pretty much every developer has been working on next-gen games for a long time now. The reason we're getting all this news about new sequels/releases coming now, is because we're obviously very close to them being released.

I'd say it's unlikely this would be a 360/PS3 game, those systems are more or less finished.

The second game was hugely disappointing, but there was a lot of potential. They were obviously building up to a large co-op game with all four horsemen and it's a shame that will never happen.
