Re: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 Has Been Rated For Switch

Herbalchunk1242

@Bizzyb are you serious? You act as if the switch was made 20 years ago, and that technology has gotten so much better. What in video game innovation has even given you the thought that this would be remotely possible? A console doesn't have the ability to make an old game(like tetris) play as a brand new or modernized game with improved graphics. If it was possible the word remake in video games wouldn't exist. No video gaming company would even allow that sort of thing cause it would hurt their pockets. Kinda like how they have never released a car or truck tire that would last a lifetime. They have the technology and ability but if everyone bought them, nobody would ever need another one. But seriously make your comment make a little sense as a whole.

Re: Review: NeoSprint (Switch) - Atari's Pricey But Revved-Up Retro Romp

Herbalchunk1242

@Thomystic I don't feel that the price of games should be going up along with everything else in the world. If it was for a new system, maybe I could see paying more but these newer games aren't any more expensive to make than any other game since the switch released in 2017 so having a high price point at launch is just going to hurt their bottom line.

Re: Review: NeoSprint (Switch) - Atari's Pricey But Revved-Up Retro Romp

Herbalchunk1242

@koekiemonster no cause how many times have you seen a mario game for under $40 on the switch. Donkey kong country is right up there with the mario series in popularity. Rarely are first party games listed at a decent price especially when they first come out. There shouldn't be and won't be any talk or mention of a high price when the game gets reviewed.

Re: Review: NeoSprint (Switch) - Atari's Pricey But Revved-Up Retro Romp

Herbalchunk1242

@SillyG who are you, someone special? If you don't like the graphics or the price just look the other way. I mean the graphics for a game thats supposed to have a retro feel maybe wouldn't or even shouldn't have the best graphics and "the nerve of them". You are a nobody that can choose for yourself whether to waste your money on a game. I don't think they will be missing your money much. LOL

Re: Poll: How Often Do You Trade-In Your Switch Games?

Herbalchunk1242

I'm in the US. Trade-in value is nothing even if they offer 30% extra Trade-in value. I've heard of people from gamestop telling customers that didn't agree with their Trade-in values to go outside and try to get more from someone coming or leaving if he wanted better value for his games. I've never traded games in but I had a drug addict sister who stole about 7 games and was given $7.40 for all of them. She spilled the beans eventually. I can't imagine what they'd give for switch games as most of them hold their value so well. I can remember when funko land was the gamestop of the past and they'd have a price list for Trade-ins, it was ridiculous that they could get away with giving so little
, then reselling for 3 or 4 times more.

Re: Here Are The Top Ten Best-Selling Nintendo Switch Games As Of March 2023

@Dev9417

We need a new 2d mario like we need another 4 years of Biden. It makes no sense and won't drive new console sales. They need quality over anything if they are looking to overtake Playstation as the top selling console. Great games drive console sales or they can even go with more features on the switch to lure customers in. Bring Netflix, prime video and or cable provider streaming(xfinity). If it had a real web browser that'd be a plus for them too. There's definitely ways to prolong the switch's life if nintendo wants to make the most out of their most successful console, they should take every chance to do so.

Re: Nintendo Wins "Switch Joy-Con Drift" Class Action Lawsuit

Herbalchunk1242

Apparently there's a new joystick out now that they claim will never suffer from drift. If nintendo was smart they'd invest in these new joysticks so they'd be able to do away with the problem. Not sure how long these sticks will last or if other problems will arise but if they do turn out to be worth it for nintendo to invest in, they will see less costs incurred in the long run. I know its gotta cost them quite a bit to be fixing them and shipping both ways. If you think about it most people have a minimum of 2 sets of joy-cons per switch, that's not including the people that have some of the limited edition ones like the zelda and splatoon joy-cons.(those people have 2 sets of joy-cons plus every set of limited edition joy-cons available.)

Re: Nintendo Wins "Switch Joy-Con Drift" Class Action Lawsuit

Herbalchunk1242

@electrolite77 where do you get your info from? Nintendo website says all 50 states and all of Canada is eligible for free shipping both ways. I'm not sure about Mexico or South America or any other countries around the world but I know its 100% free shipping both ways in US and Canada and it has nothing to do with that latest lawsuit. Nintendo started fixing them after the first few lawsuits and an independent investigation trying to find proof of drift. Proof was found shortly after that it was a problem so Nintendo did something Nintendo doesn't do. They acknowledged fault and made it free to get fixed. It was the right thing to do. Nintendo rarely does the right thing. They could have said buy new joy-cons, its not our problem if they don't last forever. They gave us a forever solution. Thats why I think Nintendo did right by everyone. Nintendos bottom line is to make money, sure they probably care about the user experience a little but they know how much they could lose by just ignoring it or saying you're beat.

Re: Nintendo Wins "Switch Joy-Con Drift" Class Action Lawsuit

Herbalchunk1242

This is not news! I sent my joy-cons in and they are like new. Waited 3 weeks for them to get back but I'm 100% happy with nintendo. There was an issue with the joy-cons and nintendo offered a resolution, which they didn't have to. What more does everyone want? They acknowledged that their controllers had an issue and they did the right thing. They didn't ignore it like nintendo sometimes does, because how would it look to make millions of people toss out unusable controllers and buy new every few years. I don't feel I was inconvenienced in any way cause their solution was so simple. If you have another controller or 2nd set of joy-cons you're ok. The only thing that I could use more of from nintendo are the awesome stability updates that we haven't really had for a lil bit. I upgraded my router/modem this week and to my surprise its still a trash connection. Why are more people not complaining about nintendos online interface? Don't complain about something they have givin us a resolution to. It looks petty.

Re: Gulikit's 'Hall Joystick' Promises To Eliminate Drifing For Your Switch Joy-Con

Herbalchunk1242

It took me 3 weeks to get my joy-cons fixed by nintendo so I'll stick with just sending them in. I sent an original 2017 pair that was just unplayable, back to nintendo for repair. Now they are back to brand new. Are there any sets of third party joy-cons that have gyro for switch sports? I know most of them are just controllers but was wondering if anyone came out with a gyro set yet.

Re: Video: Comparing The OLED, Switch, And Switch Lite Screens

Herbalchunk1242

@cleveland124 why don't y'all just take it outside. Both arguments are stupid. If y'all don't know by now that nintendo is not in business by giving the customers anything for free, then both of y'all are a little bit special Ed. Chip shortage started before there was any talk about a switch pro. So nintendo wanted something to keep up with the demand that people wanted in 4k gaming. Though they couldn't get more powerful chips. Hence the reason they went to just improving the display and not playing with the power end. Newsflash: the switch oled still isn't capable of 4k gaming. Look at nintendos gameboy line. Every system that came out had visual improvements only. The 3ds and 2ds were all similar in that respect too. Nintendo saw that people wanted a cheaper option than the 3ds so thats why they released the 2ds to target those who wanted a 3ds at the 2ds price point. Point is that nintendo is only willing to make the switch more stabile rather than more powerful(for free). So until nintendo can get a more powerful chipset then the current, I promise that you won't see any power improvements. Why would they improve something and not get something out of it. Thats like wiping your ass before you poop. It makes zero sense.

Re: Video: Analysing The Performance Of The Switch OLED Versus The OG Switch

Herbalchunk1242

I was at my local gamestop in NJ today(10/08/21) and was asked if I wanted to upgrade to the new oled nintendo switch. I said I'd think about it. They stated that you must have everything that originally came in the box when you bought your system(including the original box). Upgrade pricing is $40. The new oled system is $350 and depending on how old your original system is, it really seems to be worth the $40 they charge you. I bought my system in early 2019. So if you have an original day one release, it's totally worth the $40 especially when that day one release has a battery thats over 4 years old by now.

@River3636 the gamestop i visited today said that you can upgrade to the new oled switch model for only $40 bucks. All original components that came in box plus the original box must be intact. They also stated that nintendo has fixed the joycon issues. He even pulled up an article on his phone saying the joycons were fixed for the new model.

Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 11.0.1 Is Now Live

Herbalchunk1242

When was the last time there was a stability update. From what I can tell is the eshop is far from stable!!! Where are the themes that everyone wants? If we can get them will they be stable or will they make my switch even more unstable? We need to know these things because life right now with covid is not stable. I don't need folders, I've been pretty stable without them.
