Re: Soapbox: After 25 Years, Pokémon Legends: Arceus Will Be My First Pokémon Game

Gamer_Zeus

I'm not expecting anything big, i got Brilliant Diamond and it was rather lacklustre, it was the first pokemon game I've played since Pokemon Pearl so i wanted to give it a chance.

I just think though, with how low effort the series has been and how little time this game has been in development (about 2 years?) - i wouldn't expect much.

I'm thinking this game will be a low effort open world version of what we have at the moment, akin to Sword/Shield with some extra features which may turn out to be pointless.

Re: Video: Pokémon Legends: Arceus Has Us Excited (And Scared)

Gamer_Zeus

This will be nothing like BOTW, these are the same clowns that made Sword and Shield, which everyone was CONVINCED was going to be Pokemon BOTW... it wasn't, and neither is this.

It'll sell like crazy because Pokemon but it'll be low effort junk because its Pokemon. People need to get use to this fact now.

Re: Switch Sold More Units Than Every Other Console Combined In Japan Last Year

Gamer_Zeus

@AstroTheGamosian i wouldn't rely on those "official" 3DS sales figures as Nintendo stopped releasing figures for the 3DS some 6 months before they discontinued it.

Also when Nintendo discontinued, the sales went through the roof, being on Amazon best sellers list for nearly a month.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the actual sales for the 3DS are really closer to 80 million.

Switch is still higher but just saying, don't rely on those figures too much.

Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity's Development Was A Real Pain In The... Grass

Gamer_Zeus

Yeah when I'm hacking my way through hordes of enemy baddies, I'm always so concerned about making sure every blade of grass is doing its own thing.

I'm not bothered by the shoddy frame rate and terrible gameplay as long as every blade of grass has it's own independent script.

Good thing to know that developers are putting their focus in the right places 🤨...

Re: Square Enix Shows Off Triangle Strategy's Switch Box Art Illustration

Gamer_Zeus

Only game i own from Square is DQ11, everything else they have put on the Switch has been generic dribble and this looks like more generic dribble.

Octopath and Bravely both look like generic games you can make yourself from one of those old create your own RPG dev kits. This looks more of the same except it has a basketball name.

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Open-World Games

Gamer_Zeus

@Juga Astral Chain is decent. Not too sure about the others, never touched them.

Astral Chain looks really good though, the realistic cell shaded graphics gives the game a very cool unique comic book style which makes the game definitely worth half the price just for the style.

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Open-World Games

Gamer_Zeus

Missing quite a few games here, especially Xenoblade and DQ11 which is just silly considering how freaking huge DQ11 is when you access all the locations.

Witcher 3 is the best game here, followed by Skyrim then Breath Of The Wild.

Re: Here Are Japan's Top 30 Best-Selling Switch eShop Games For 2021

Gamer_Zeus

There was so much noise about Metroid Dread that one would think it would have easily broken the top 10.

But as i predicted, the majority of people will not see value in a game that takes less than 10 hours to beat, has no replay value and costs $60.

When spending $60, people want more than a game you can beat on a single weekend, go figure.

Re: Capcom Will Reveal More About Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak In Spring 2022

Gamer_Zeus

Im definitely ready for new content in the game.

But even so, this game was my 2021 GOTY - put 300 hours into, done everything there is to do outside of a few really rare talismans.

I go back every month to 6 weeks to catch up on updates and new Apex Hunts if there are any, they gave us a stronger Magnamalo for Christmas which was nice.

This game to me is a top 5 must own games on the Switch.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Ports We'd Love To See In 2022

Gamer_Zeus

@BloodNinja Dark Souls Trilogy would have been on Switch if Dark Souls Remastered actually sold well.

But unfortunately it seems that it didn't, at least not to begin with, i don't know about sales now but i know that sales at the start were hampered by some bad sound bugs and terrible frame rates, game got patched but much like The Outer Worlds, if a game releases broken, it'll stump the sales of the game permanently.

So i doubt we'll see anymore FromSoft games on the Switch.

Re: Video: We Have An EarthBound Conspiracy Theory

Gamer_Zeus

Going to be honest here, if this game ever came to the west then it would get an entirely new narrative which will ruin the game, because the story originally was so dark and twisted.

You wouldn't be able to put that stuff in video games anymore, which is sad but true.

Re: Bandai Namco Announces .hack//G.U. Last Recode Physical Switch Release

Gamer_Zeus

@SwitchForce name them? Okay.

Dark Souls
Or Souls Calibur or a new Naruto game, how about a One Piece game.

We get Bandai Namco's shovelware and DBZ games, outside of DBZ, they've given us dribble.

But obviously many people like yourself are content with second rate games, you know they are publishing Eldan Ring right? Maybe it would be nice if they gave us some other Dark Souls games finally.

Oh and if Bandai told FromSoft to make more Switch games, FromSoft would make more Switch games, so don't try pulling that lame excuse.

Outside of their lack of effort, i have no other issues with Bandai.

Re: 'The World Ends With You' Could Get Another Game If Fans Show Their Support

Gamer_Zeus

Don't really care about this game but if i did care, i would pay 1/3rd the price and buy it on mobile.

Seems kinda ridiculous to not market the game properly before releasing the game on gaming hardware then to release the game on mobile for 1/3rd the cost.

Then they are talking about how "if you want a sequel we need you to buy our game".

Good luck with that.

Re: Action Arcade Wrestling Gets A Festive Trailer Ahead Of 2022 Switch Release

Gamer_Zeus

@YANDMAN and do you realise that timing for release is everything? Or do you always have a rudimentary understanding of how business works?

This game has been available on potato laptops for over 2 years now and at a fraction of the cost.

Do you seriously believe anyone is going to bother paying anything more than $10 for this game? In fact, think about this seriously, has anyone even cared about a wrestling game being on the Switch?

Of all the games that Switch owners have requested, wrestling games have been the least requested, so where is the market for this game?

Like i said, timing is everything and you seem to have a rudimentary understanding of how business works.

Re: Action Arcade Wrestling Gets A Festive Trailer Ahead Of 2022 Switch Release

Gamer_Zeus

I don't understand why they are bothering, game was originally released in October 2019 on PC and it was a so-so game, nothing special, if it was released on the Switch to begin with then it probably would have sold a lot better but the game has been available on potato level laptops for more than 2 years now. (You can literally run this game with a 2010s laptop just fine)

I wish the developers the best of luck on this, i hope it does well but the timing of the release (2+ years late for an arcade indie game) and even missing the Holiday sales period doesn't fill me with confidence.

Re: Rumour: Epic Universe Theme Park Construction Has Some Dreaming Of A Pokémon Land

Gamer_Zeus

People have been dreaming of a lot of different things you could do with the Pokemon franchise.

A big MMO type game.
Good graphics with a sprawling open world to explore.

Heck even a full Pokedex would be great.

Whatever people are hoping for, we know full well the companies behind this franchise won't make it happen. They seem to be in the business of giving bare minimum for maximum returns.

Re: Metroid Dread Crowned #1 In TIME's 'Best Games Of 2021'

Gamer_Zeus

@BongoBongo wouldn't that mske your point about the games being 30 hours for two play throughs totally wrong then? Considering you're suggesting it rounds to the nearest 5, which actually is not entirely true, it will tell you that you've been playing for 15 hours when you've actually been playing for 18 hours, which is obviously not the nearest 5. Like it did for me.

Either that or i completed two full sessions of Dread in 7.5 hours each. Either way it's a lot less than your suggested 30 hours.
