Re: Poll: One Year After The DLC, Are You Still Playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

Galaxy

For me, I actually enjoyed New Leaf and even Pocket Camp more than New Horizons. I'm just not very good at decorating, and I felt like there was way too much emphasis on decorating your island. In New leaf, you have the whole shopping district to work on. That kept me motivated to play all the time. I'm happy for the people for whom island customization is their main joy. Because of the fact thet they're the majority, I wouldn't have the game be different. Just for me, I need a little more motivation. By the time Happy Home Paradise came around, I was super excited. But the ship had sailed for me. I've put far more hours into Stardew Valley than New Horizons. But I'm so happy for the people for whom this is the perfect Animal Crossing.

Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think Of The September 2022 Nintendo Direct?

Galaxy

I'm so so happy for everyone. Pikmin 4 and BOTW2? Yeah. Plenty of hype. However, for me it just seemed to duck and dodge anything that would've gotten major hype from me. I was so excited for Mario Party 1 2 and 3, until I was reminded that we'll just have to wait MONTHS for games that released upwards of 20 years ago. My hype for BOTW2 kind of ebbs and flows. I thoroughly enjoyed the first, but I never put too much time into it. Again, so happy for everyone that got so much that they wanted. Also worth mentioning, I'm not really into anime or RPGs. That being said, y'all enjoy your hype. Congrats Pikmin fans!

Re: 8BitDo Reveals New 'Ultimate' Controller Range, Compatible With Switch

Galaxy

Pretty happy with my pro 2 atm. But if I didn't already have one, I may consider this. Great product to add to their growing list of awesome controllers. I honestly think that this would be a better alternative to a pro controller if you didn't already have one. Good design, great dpad, programmable back buttons and controller profiles? Sounds like a winner to me.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Tricolor Turf War In Splatoon 3?

Galaxy

I was having a blast with them. (As team paper.) Until my sister (team scissors) came in talking about how imbalanced it was. Tbh, I'm not too sure what the ultra signals do.. All I saw was a big sprinkler appear covering the stage with your ink. I watched her play a match as the defending team, and yeah. It's way skewed against the defending team.

Re: The Ten Best Wholesome Games On Switch

Galaxy

@JasmineDragon I was actually just about to comment "Wheres Stardew?" But you're completely right. It's more of a relaxing overall experience. But it gets into some pretty serious topics. It's still my favorite game of all time most likely, but I see why it wouldn't fit into this list.

Re: My Singing Monsters Playground Launches This November, And Switch Is Getting A Physical Version

Galaxy

Storytime! MSM is so important to my musical development and as a gamer. I still play it. Literally the other night I said to my sister, "I would dump any amount of money if they ported it to switch like they did to the vita. (Yes an offline version was on P.S. Vita.) But I doubt it'll ever happen.."

For as huge as the game is to me personally, I cant imagine this party game will be anything to write home about. But I swear if I wont pay and put many hours into the original game WITH ACCOUNTS on switch.

Thank you all you 1 people reading this comment on an article on a mobile game from years ago on a website about nintendo.

Re: Random: Pokémon And Animal Crossing Both Featured On Jeopardy

Galaxy

I had someone at a yard sale once tell me that the games I was buying (kirby's epic yarn & Super Mario Galaxy) were for the "Nintendo 360". Upon me saying otherwise, she insisted that her kids used to play on it all the time. Further research on her part revealed she was thinking of the N64. I in a non sarcastic way love helping people find their old consoles with a rush of nostalgia. If I see someone trying to figure out what "the one we used to play mario on" is, it's always fun to see their childhoods come back to them when I show them a pic of whatever they were thinking of. The point of this was meant to be related to the article.. but nvm. You're welcome.

Re: Soapbox: Video Game Injuries Are No Laughing Matter

Galaxy

Very well written article. It's not often I sit down to read one all the way through. I deal with pain sometimes from my piano playing. The Tetris theme is pure death for my wrists. I agree that ergonomics are vital for long term health. You see a phone that we all spend about a third of our modern life on, and it's just a flat brick. Maybe someday it'll change. Anyway, props for the article. Sorry to hear about your pain.
