Jeopardy is back with some video game questions, and once again, none of the contestants knew the answers. What's the opposite to "maybe you need to go outside more"?
For those of you who are British, and don't really know what Jeopardy is: imagine Countdown, but instead of being about accidentally spelling naughty words with combinations of consonants and vowels, it's a game show where you get the answer, and have to give the question. For those of you who are not British, and don't know what Jeopardy is: you can probably figure it out from the explanation, too.
Spoilers ahead for last night's episode of Jeopardy, but the answers were "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" and "Pokémon". Those aren't even tricky questions! Call us when they start asking about Okami.

What was the category?
I mean, they're putting the titles of the games right in the answers, so.
Too bad these weren't final Jeopardy answers. I could retire quite easily.
Now I’m imagining Tom Nook paternalistically hosting Jeopardy and having a big smile on my face.
What is pokeman?
Nobody even got the Pokemon clue on the show and it was so obvious
They managed to get DOOM and CoD but not POKEMON
Countdown >>>>> Jeopardy mostly because I spend the 30 seconds trying to find words like ‘bumfluff’ and then argue that it is in fact in the dictionary against all odds.
@KayFiOS It was literally just Video Games
They also had questions for stuff like CoD and DOOM
They should make a game show with nothing but gaming related questions, and the contestants should not be gamers in the slightest. It’d be sad, but hilarious as hilarious csn be.
Anyone fancy a game of Saber y Ganar? A few months ago they asked "Which iconic game character is blue?" With Yoshi or Sonic as possible answers...
More interestingly they've also asked what makes Hatsune Miku stand out from other singers, without any options.
They also recently had an answer about Mario.

Uh...I’d like to buy a vowel..
I had someone at a yard sale once tell me that the games I was buying (kirby's epic yarn & Super Mario Galaxy) were for the "Nintendo 360". Upon me saying otherwise, she insisted that her kids used to play on it all the time. Further research on her part revealed she was thinking of the N64. I in a non sarcastic way love helping people find their old consoles with a rush of nostalgia. If I see someone trying to figure out what "the one we used to play mario on" is, it's always fun to see their childhoods come back to them when I show them a pic of whatever they were thinking of. The point of this was meant to be related to the article.. but nvm. You're welcome.

An urban dictionary countdown would be amazing and very wrong
@TheFrenchiestFry No one knew the question was Animal Crossing and it was a $200 dollar answer.
@KayFiOS
Lol it was very generic. Video Games
@Rambler Man, that’s like a proper solid 8 letter word right there. Better in Countdown than Scrabble though.
@jags623 that made my head hurt
@PK_Fire I like to think video games could have many subcategories in media, but I'm also pretty naïve lol
@nessisonett
I've just googled countdown rude words and there are quite a few articles on it!
Apparently it meant that Susie Dent could get away with swearing as well
(I'm assuming that they are all real and not photoshopped, but the swearing episode appears to be genuine)
What is Animal Crossing?
I blurted those two answers out loud cause obviously a huge gamer like all, we should've known the answers when the word 'Nintendo' pops up. Whoever doesn't know answers to these, isn't a true gamer
@KayFiOS
Well they've done it before With Pokemon, but that's it. If not they boring since it's a game for smart people with no time to play video games. Especially Nintendo games lol
I'd guess that for any true non-gamers, anything beyond "Mario" and "that game about shooting and killing guys on the internet my 12 y.o is always playing" is already a tricky question
I was actually watching this last night, my Grandma was proud.
Technically, the correct "questions" (or responses) to the "answers" (or clues) were "What is Pokémon?" and "What is Animal Crossing?" but whatever.
This hurts, but... I've met plenty of people in my life who are clueless about some games, so this doesn't surprise me.
@GannonBanned Aw, that is a pleasant idea. Alex Trebek leaves behind a hole in the world that cannot easily be filled, but Tom Nook would make a good attempt. =)
Blimey that's a bit of a sticky wicket innit love
@TheFrenchiestFry In their defense, at least DOOM and CoD are also very successful, it’s not like they missed Pokémon and got Karnaaj Rally
Those people need to get out less lol 🤣
