@Tyranexx I'm also in your camp. I really have a sour experience with Octopth 1, but I freaking love Octopath 2. I nearly did not bought Octopath 2 because of that.
@Pillowpants i can't count the number of times a game dev said that their game take this number of hours to finish it, but finally I finishes it much earlier ahah. But yeah who knows.
@topsekret I can't confirm, but I think it's purely cosmetic. However, I know that some item can give you some boost (exp and jp boost) if they are placed in your city. Like the statue that you can get if you have a save file of Octopath 1&2.
@topsekret Like I have said " on the Switch 1 you can only have 250 objects (that you can choose to place in your town). For the Switch 2 version it's like 400 and 500 for the PS5 version". I'm pretty sure that it run well, but if you have a Switch 2, then I would play the Switch 2. Also the 60 fps during battle looks really fluid. I crave for a Switch 2 version of Octopath 2 ahah.
@Troubbble It's a reimagined story from the mobile game. And yes the mobile game was well known for having a really good story (much better than Octopath 1). Also in the mobile game there was no town building mechanic. Just because of that there is already a lot more of content.
@Daniel36 on the Switch 1 you can only have 250 objects (that you choose to place in your town). For the Switch 2 version is like 400 and 500 for the PS5 version.
@NintendoWife I hope so much for a Switch 2 upgrade for Octopath 2. Everything is quite blurry on the big Switch 2 screen because the pixel are stretched.
@arnoldlayne83 Yeah sadly the English dub sounds really bad ahah. However, the Japanese voice are really good (I played the beta of the story mode last year).
No delay anymore. There is even a release countdown day on the official Inazuma Eleven Victory Road twitter account. Can't wait for the game. The last time I played Inazuma Eleven it was 1&2 on my old DS/3DS. What a blast these game were. Sadly all the other games were only localized in Europe.
Lol I would remove at least 2 points just for the fact that there is no War of Lions content. If their excuse was "we only have the source code of the PS1 version" then yeah I can understand. But if you have to redo the whole game then put the whole content. I'm tired of this other excuse "it was not our vision, the PSP version was made by another team". Sure, but you still decide to remove gameplay content (Dark Knight, Onion Knight), especially that a big majority of people who played Tactics was from the PSP version. Also Square Enix still supervised the PSP version. They did the same thing with the FF Pixel Remaster sadly. They add "useless" thing like the lore menu (like it was the biggest lore game ever lol). We were waiting since 2021 for this game (Nvidia Leak) and this is what we got ahah. Tactics deserves much better. Quite sad because at its core this is a really good tactical game. I still I prefer to continue playing the remake of Trails in the Sky 1 and not giving my money to Square Enix. Falcom know how to treat their IP properly.
You can deactivate the bench trap. Also you are in "Hunter March". A place with a lot of trap. I'm not saying that people are not bright, but seeing a bench like that in the middle of nowhere already draw my suspection. Always study the environment around.
Don't forget that Koei Temco always do some performance patch for their game on the Switch. Lastly they did it for Atelier Ryza 3. However, Atelier Yumia seems like a next gen Atelier game, so I don't expect a lot of change for a performance patch on the Switch.
For the people in the comment section. There is a Switch demo with 3 different part that you can choose. Part 1 it's the prologue. Part 2 it's town exploration (if you explore well you will find an optional boss), Part 3 is a dungeon with exploration + battle.
PS: also a free DLC with a lot of post game content will be add for early 2025.
I love these games, but my favorite it's easily "My Sims Agent". It's because of this game that I'm a big fan of Detective games like Ace Attorney, Another Code, Danganronpa, AI: The Somnium Files, etc. Quite sad that it's not in this bundle. Also there was suppose to have a My Sims Agent 2, but it was canceled.
Just the fact that you can't control your party member, then it's a urn off. Also, a game who has a huge emphasis on dialogue choice, but don't have a dialogue log to reread them ? No thanks. 😅
@Bunkerneath there is 201 pages. I seen them all. Like you have said, it's not spoiler heavy (there is no story or boss content). There is maybe 4 pages that I was like "oh, it's a light spoiler ahah". There is some monsters from older Zelda games that I'm quite happy to see. 😁
@Burntbreadman lol it looks like 1000 times better than any cliche Kemco/rpg maker games. Same thing for the story. Unity engine was used for this game
@Expa0 tell me without telling me that you didn't understand the battle system. The most important thing it's the overdrive gauge. Anyway, in JRPG we always have too much ressource in the end. HP/TP is full at the beginning of each battle because you have to use the maximum of your skill attack for the overdrive gauge. If the overdrive gauge is in the red, then you are in critical danger, if it's in the green then you take less damage. There is a lot of strategy and not just mashing the "a" button like in the majority of jrpg.
@broskiplays I don't think it's fair to compare a game on the SteamDeck lol. What I mean it's that I'm pretty sure that the Switch version of The Witcher 3 is still more stable. The Witcher 3 world have a LOT more of texture. The world of Scarlet and Violet is just huge road with the strict minimum of texture. Also, because it's an open world, they sacrifice the feature to enter into house (in town) for the majority of them. 😅
@TrixieSparkle so if we follow your logic, Breath of the Wild, Xenoblade 2&3, Splatoon 2&3, Pokemon Sword and Shield, etc, are incomplete games because they have DLC ?
"Even the music will be taking a touch of Mario and bringing it to the galaxy. Brillaud couldn’t show us any of the clips, or even tell us what music was being rearranged, but mentioned that an “iconic Nintendo theme” has been rearranged by returning composer Grant Kirkhope for a level where you collect fish. Legendary Nintendo composer Koji Kondo and Super Mario Galaxy co-composer Mahito Yokota supervised the soundtrack, which would be enough to make anyone nervous – even Kirkhope".
It's clearly not this theme, but Grant Kirkhope have made a "rearrange" for the Rosalina Observatory. We can heard it in this trailer at 1:42 😁 https://youtu.be/VHIuHMv3t88

@Arawn93 Exactly! I just looked on "How Long To beat" and Triangle Strategy is like between 35-48 hours.

@Pillowpants 100 hours if you do 100%. My playthrough of Octopath 2 took me 80-90 hours and I never feel that the game had a lot of padding.
Re: Review: Octopath Traveler 0 (Switch 2) - A Bit Of A Retread, But Unmissable (And Enormous)

@johnedwin Metacritic score is 85. Like Octopath 2 (who was one of the best jrpg that I have played since a while).

This is my "Metroid Prime 4" game ahah.

@JasmineDragon there is colorblindness option and other option for motion sickness.

Finish with the medieval story. In the original version, you have to finish all other stories before the medieval one. Trust me. 😁
