Re: Review: Super Mario Bros. Wonder - The Best 2D Mario Since The Super NES

The controls feel much better than the New Super Mario Bros. series. They are very tight and feel somewhere between SMB3 and Super Mario World. Regarding the music, it’s great! I get what you’re saying about the trailer, but the full music in the game is near perfect. The music is dynamic and changes to what is going on the game and how you play. One example is how the music changes when you perform a ground stomp, every time, and it sounds perfect. The only sound that I don’t love is the new jump sound. It doesn’t sound bad, just not my favorite. Every other sound and song are great.

When Nintendo first announced Super Mario Bros. Wonder in their Direct, I was so disappointed. The “New” Super Mario Bros. series never pulled me in and I was done with 2D Mario. Reading all the hype that followed that Direct was so puzzling to me as I couldn’t figure out what everyone was getting so excited about. Once people begin to talk about the return to the original NES/SNES platformers formula, I began to see what people were hyped about.

Fast forward to today, and I feel like a kid all over again. I smile ear to ear while playing and I can’t put this game down. It reminds me of getting Super Mario Bros. 3 for my birthday, seeing the Super Mario World demo in Toys R Us, staying up late with my cousins to explore all the secrets, and so much more. Is it a hard platformer? No, Hollow Knight takes that crown, (and a personal score of 10/10), but Wonder is truly a masterpiece that is a absolute joy to play.

Re: Review: Red Dead Redemption - A Fine But No-Frills Switch Port, For A Fistful Of Dollars

I didn’t play this game when it was released, so I am happy to be playing it now on Switch. While $50 does seem a bit high, the sheer scope of the game, and the hours of entertainment, in my opinion, easily justify the price tag. The game runs beautifully on Switch, both docked and handheld, and is one of the best looking ports on the Switch. SwitchUp has an excellent comparison video of the game at launch compared to the Switch version, and the visuals are noticeably better on Switch. That said, I can understand people's frustration with the lack of a true remaster and the missing multiplayer content. However, since value is objective to the individual, I find this to be one of the best ports released on Switch to date. Again, all of this is subjective and is simply my opinion. I for one I’m excited to have this masterpiece in handheld on my favorite gaming console.

Re: How To Use Bluetooth Headphones On Switch - Connect AirPods To Nintendo Switch

@EriXz I was super excited to try pairing my AirPods Pro to the Switch natively, but was bummed by how quiet they were. Why Nintendo put a limitation on this makes no sense considering there is no limitation on corded headphones or USB audio output.

I have the GENKI Bluetooth adapter and LOVE it! You are able to get full audio from it, it supports voice chat, and it allows pass through charging. I will continue to use it for the foreseeable future.

Re: Review: ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove - A '90s Throwback That Might Be Too Random For Some

FlyingPoliceBox

The original ToeJam & Earl was one of my all time favorites as a kid. We were a Nintendo household growing up but a friend of mine was SEGA. I totally remember the very real console wars that took place in the late 80s/early 90s and we were hard core Nintendo, but this was my one game on the Genesis that I kept going back to. I played countless hours of this game back then and it is the sole reason I bought the SEGA Classics Collection for Switch. Can’t wait to sink countless more hours into this new title and I am cautiously excited for the online multiplayer.
