I love Nintendo but it does make me happy i can get my EA FC football fix and 2K wrestling fix on the system, means I don’t need to get the next Xbox / or PS alongside Switch as I will have all my guilty pleasures covered in one place
@rjejr one of my happiest times with Switch1 was when I figured out that I could subscribe to Paramount+ directly via the YouTube app. Watched loads of films one week on it when stayed with family last year
After watching some of the tree house footage today my son and I really want this game now and are very excited for switch2, it looks really good. Praying it’s not going to cost the earth as he wants the camera, pro controller, this and MKW (and thats not going to happen anytime soon, as we have to eat to lol).
You forgot to mention you can play as a selection of Icons in the off line Player Career mode! I am doing one with Henry at Arsenal and it’s fun being an icon. This is great addition for me, just a shame you can’t use these icons in Manager Career mode, something I hope they add next year. edit - plus ultimate addition lets you pick, Beckham, Zidane or Ronaldo (R9)
Got EAFC25 with early access last week. Positives - 1) you can pick a selection of icons now for player career mode, I am doing one with Henry and it’s cool. 2) Rush mode is a fresh and fun once learn how offside works, been good to mix it up a bit 3) gameplay seems a little more stable over last years version 4) updated teams and kits Negatives/Feedback 1) better to download as small cart again (if not that worried about latest teams maybe wait until cheap at Xmas on eShop) 2) ultimate team basically feels the same other than rush included as option to (players on market over priced vs Xbox and it rubbish starting with basic players again) 3) more for hard core football or ultimate team fans, so if happy with EAFC24 I would wait till this becomes half price or less in Xmas or new year sales
@romanista my pre order has finally been dispatched and I believe tomorrow is official release date (just for Switch at the moment, other console releases coming later)
I am really looking forward to this, had it pre-ordered for months and date moved a couple of times. I have high hopes and the versions on Apple TV also seemed to review well from YouTube reviews I watched, plus this version has real players now
@5th313ment I was surprised, as couldn’t see the requires download message on the box cover art on all the places I looked at ordering from so thought I was safe lol, didn’t notice until I physically had the box in my hand after we had brought it. Oh well, at least had space to download it this time (just feel sorry for kids who might not have the space straight away and parents need to get another Micro SD card) and we are really enjoying the game a lot so far
@5th313ment the cartridge only has friendlies on it for about 8 men’s sides and some women’s sides, you have to download the rest of the game, so far I think it’s about 21gb in size. A bit disappointed with that part as would have just gone all digital if had known this before
Edit - sorry my reply was too late played a few friendly games against my son and we are really enjoying the game so far, big improvement on legacy games
I assume these work work with a Switch Lite? Thinking if I got two for a friend to play sonic 2 in 2 player if put the Lite in a stand for some custom table top play.
Played just over a hour and half of career mode. My positives so far are:
1. In matches players can use power shots like Xbox Series S versions
2. You can pick real managers and create club options like current gen games
3. Can finally skip / sim matches
4. Transfers like Xbox Series S
5. When playing matches graphics and frostbite engine are a big improvement on previous switch versions, game play wise feels a lot like I am playing fifa 23 of Xbox series s, graphics 100 times better / clearer than last switch version (not quite hitting that polish of Xbox series s but players pop on screen and good, with much better player models).
My negatives so far:
1) PL match presentation before games not as good as fifa 23 on Xbox, for examples kit icons with numbers rather than players on formation/ line ups in pre match build up
2) Transfers seem more like moving screen shots than video in negotiations, not sure if just for beta issues at the moment
3) when calendar scrolling to next match in career main menus the news videos struggle to keep up
4) menu presentations etc. not as clear / good as actual gameplay matches
5) So far the player development is confusing me, still early and more to learn
OVERALL SUMMARY SO FAR:
+Switch owners finally have career mode on par with current gen features
+ Gamplay actually in matches is improved/looks better and not far off Fifa 23 on Xbox Series S
Going to be great having this on the go
Menus not as crisp as in game graphics
Menus feel a little bit sluggish compared to in game experience
*EDIT - should have stated all this feedback was from playing in docked mode and not handheld mode, thanks
@Kcwolfuk - just wondered if you able to share what the file size of the Beta is please? And does it have all the teams? Just wondering if gives any indication of if they can fit the whole final game on a 32gb cartridge when it comes out.
@BowsersBuddy I believe it was sometime around the Easter holidays in either 91 or 92
Edit - a quick search for UK toys r us master system II adverts makes me think it must have been 91, as looking like Xmas 91 advert they were selling for £57!
I actually preferred Sonic on the Master System because it’s more of a platformer. I also have fond memories of the Master System, my dad got a new job and treated me and brother to a Master System II with Alex Kidd built in, I remember it was on offer for £59.99 and I remember the trip to Toys R Us to pick it up! And as some of the games were so cheap £7.99-£9.99 we were allowed one of those also, so we had a great week playing Alex Kidd, Endurance Racer and My Hero (bit like a double dragon clone). Over the time we had it we got some classics for birthdays and Xmas, fond memories of Micky Mouse Castle of Illusion, Sonic Choas, Sonic 1 and a game I think was just called Ninja, but in total we had maybe 8 games as that’s how it was then. I wish we got the Fifa Soccer game they had in Brazil!
I am actually really encouraged by this news, sounds good! I love football games and this has me excited. Obviously understand will not be exactly the same as Xbox Series and PS5 versions, but this is good news. Has me thinking is this ready to move over to Switch2 next year?
@parena I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t come to Switch, as I am sure I read somewhere in the past that it was Fifa that wanted the game available on every console and they kind of forced EA into it. If the Switch does get it, it will be the normal legacy edition. My son has Fifa 23 and since the January transfer update some players lost their face models they had before and now have that blue and green checkered face! They had faces before, so I hope EA can sort that out if they release a switch version
I remember the original games had been called “FIFA SOCCER” and they dropped the soccer to just be FIFA. The FC in the new name is for Football Club, but personal thinK EA Soccer or EA Sports Soccer would have been better names and that’s from someone who watches Football
It’s only the FIFA name and World Cup licenses EA lost, they still have all the Premier League, La LIGA and most the major licenses etc. I wish we got a version more like the Xbox and PS, but sure it will be legacy edition again
I loved WcW vs nWo and Wrestlemania 2000 on the N64 and this game looks promising. Hope the odd slow down doesn’t impact gameplay too much, RGT85 did a review and it doesn’t look too bad but noticeable now and then on his video. I really want this but unfortunately don’t have the funds this month. Wish list game for now! WWE2K18 on switch is the worst game I own and this can replace that
