@Peach64 I'm pretty sure that Anouma (?) said something along the lines of considering an MM remake, but that they wanted to prioritise bringing out an original 3DS game first... I'm actually a bit surprised that we haven't seen it yet so hopefully it'll be something really special!
Nintendo Life did a movie review. About Wreck-It Ralph. And it was lauded. I think I reacted a bit too much in my head. You cannot blame me, I DO have all the plushies and a good majority of the books and a soundtrack on top, I'm just in love with it. A truly superb film, anyone who does not see it is missing out on a treat. Scratch it, a whole meal.
Can we all agree that this is one more reason that Wii Shop/Wii U eShop and Wii Menu/Wii U Menu are both points that should be merged with one another?
Anyway, here's my stand on this: he really should have contacted Nintendo first. The strange thing is the service that he got, which seems sub-par for the company to me. I have no strong feelings one way or the other about that.
Cloud or purchase-tie services don't bother me as I will not buy a new system for years, if ever. However, I voted "No" because this lack of more quick digital buying is really what Nintendo's online services lack in the most. If general communities are added to Miiverse they pretty much have that down pat, but a ton of people would like to transfer buys around, and for good reason- they're very behind with it. I'd be pretty disappointed too were I interested in using that.
Okay I'll be perfectly blunt. I HATE this guy because of how he keeps going on about Skylanders and... Naturally for being the Activision CEO. So I will be brave and honest to say that I'm staring through rose tinted glasses.
However, to issue my less-biased thoughts, there's only one thing to say to all of the people who keep going on saying NINTENDOOOOOOMED!:
Unless this ends up being another GameCube(which I doubt since they clearly have things planned for a while), once new titles of their staple IPs come out the thing well sell like hotcakes.
Right now it isn't that great but the guy seems ignorant to how popular titles such as Mario and Zelda that are coming up for the Wii U will make it an easy sell for people who had a Wii and will want more of those series. ESPECIALLY families.
Mark my words. Kids will be begging for the console when they see the next Super Mario. Remember the 3DS and how Super Mario 3D Labd made it pick up a lot of steam?
Heck, I know people who decided on buying one this year after Wind Waker HD was announced, a remake of a years-old game they've played.
@rjejr Giants was the same, though. At the point Giants was announced, Slam Bam, Cynder and Double Trouble were in very low stock while a comparative plethora of unique Skylanders (by which I mean Skylanders that play different from any prior- not recolors or reposed) were unreleased: Sunburn(Dragon's Peak), Lightning Rod, Zook, Wham-Shell and Warnado. Toy Fair is an annual event in February. The games launch every Q4. There's a very low chance they'll make a game that brings out characters so fast in the future.
I'm buying Legends to support the developers... But I'm very disappointed with Ubisoft. I hope that they actually choose to learn from this if they actually do lose potential boycotted sales rather than blame it on the Wii U not having a large enough install base.
I'll be buying it. But I don't think I'll buy every figure this time. So far I mainly want Countdown, Magna Charge, and Stink Bomb but I can live without everything else that got announced. I'll use the figures-through-packaging exploit to get 100% this time, just leave them sealed, unlock the zones and return them. Can't deal with how poorly these figures are released a third time- it's the single worst aspect of the franchise.
Hm... I may go for the 3DS version, then... I know I'll just be able to play it more often. The online was the only thing that made me want the Wii U version, but I probably won't use it as much being region locked. I understand why they did it, but it's still too bad.
Being a Nintendo fan feels awful right now. Besides the beloved company themselves, it seems- it's certain- that we get shafted by near every other development company some way or another. Even Nintendo sometimes disappoint with their delays and waits. I'm happy that I purchased my Wii U and play it twice a week at worst thus far, but commercially I fear for its sales a fair bit.
By no means did Ubisoft lose my business, because I still want the GAME, but... GRASS. WHY delay the Wii U version? It was obviously very nearly finished and now you choose to make people who would have purchased it not do so, you've potentially jeopardized what might have been sales moving it to a far more competitive season than March, and generally urinated off people who have been looking forward to the game(particularly considering it was already delayed a while ago).
The Nintendo community just feels bad to be in right now, with all of the doom and gloom that's been going on, I'm honestly fearing Ninty becoming a new Sega. I feel like the press giving negative impressions is actually what's causing said impressions to become partially likely and Big N just hasn't been selling as much with their shiny new systems' cost and initial losses.
At the same time, I guess the same is true for the industry as a whole.
I realise I've gone largely off topic, but to cut things short, I'm with this crowd of people: I honestly think we may be due for another industry crash soon with all of our biases and more inexpensive gaming taking so much prevalence.
We have Mario Kart Arcade GP 2 at a fairly close cinema. I first played it when I saw the advance screening of Wreck-It Ralph, and I loved it! I hope they get this new game! (And the return of Mario Cards IntenCity, please? )
As someone who owns every single figure so far, this is actually looking like the best of the games to me. Did anyone actually watch the proper gameplay video and do their research instead of the lulz bad appeal to kids trailer? They've drastically overhauled the gameplay. Hey, they changed the whole genre. It's a platformer now instead of a dungeon crawler. And it has a new developer, Vicarious Visions, who made the first game on the 3DS. I didn't expect to see majority of people here saying "OH ANOTHER SKYLANDERS".
I'll be buying both Swap Force and Infinity.
Silly people. Resident Evil: Revelations sales obviously disappointed because people chose to flock to a much better game at time of release- Resident Evil: Revelaitons! No other game has featured the Professor in a horror genre. It's no wonder that caused sales of- okay, I'll stop now...
Ooh, I'll buy all of them. For $0.30 each, they're all steals.
I wish we could have had Earthbound instead of Punch-Out!!, though...
Can't wait for F-Zero and Super Metroid!
@LavaTwilight No, I'm talking about standard games with save and all. I'll give you a few examples from my own childhood.
Pokémon Yellow: This game took me months to complete the first time that I played it. I was actually really proud when I got to the 100 Pokémon mark. I can easily finish it and get around that many Pokémon in a couple of days now.
Spyro: Year of The Dragon: I actually have quite a funny story with this game. It took me two years to reach Super Bonus Round. The yeti race in that level stopped me from completing the game... It took me another two to get pick it up again and get past that, and I even had to resort to a rather unorthodox method to do so. I beat it and blasted through everything, no tricks, including some things I missed, in roughly a week just recently.
Crash Bandicoot: Warped: I just recently played this again. Took me a couple of months to beat the story first time. I did it in a few days the last time I played. It took me years to get all of the Gold Relics, but I have many of the Platinums now after playing for about a month. (On a side note, I wish that I hadn't deleted my original PSX save. )
Etc., etc. I guess I was just less concerned with blasting through games then, and I guess that's the negative effect of actually seeing my backlog. Though it can't just be because I've played these games, because I have the same feelings with new games. Eh.
Repaired (or replaced? That was years ago!) my white DS for free when the top screen was off-joint
^ And again
Sent a replacement red Wii GameCube memory card cover for free
Offered to replace the gloss on my Mario Lite for free (though I declined because they didn't have the matching red color) I take better care of my consoles now, but Nintendo's customer service is truly outstanding. Every time I've called them has been pleasant, even the time when I had a lot of Wi-Fi issues and needed help.
Toa-? Oh...
I'm also glad to see download mode is a feature. I feel like DS games, and ESPECIALLY 3DS games, never made enough use of it, so it's good to see even one more game with it.
Is it really a huge problem? Nobody would complain about this sort of thing then. All that matters is wether the game still runs fine, wether it's at the same rate or not. It's 0.30 currency, and I don't think it's s huge issue for that. They certainly can port the 60hz version, but it's nothing to knot our hair over that they didn't.
Good news all around. System stability will be improved, two GamePad update will finally be patched in, and Wii U Virtual Console at last. I've been waiting for this.
Don't mind at all. It reminds me of a One Piece game I once saw. If they need to cut costs on VOICE ACTING, it doesn't matter! All I care about is the gameplay.
@StarDust Actually, GameStop DID sell the figures second hand. But apparently Activision stopped them! I haven't seen any fresh preowned figures in my EB Games for a while, come to think of it...
@theblackdragon You should have seen what a hell it was to find Warnado, Camo and Wham-Shell once they came out. They have barely been restocked since then.
@Stuffgamer1 True that, but at that point you may as well give up unless you're dedicated. However, the game load screen will say 100% when you get three stars on every unlocked level. Of course, you can always scan figures in then return them...
@TheDreamingHawk I've done it, and I own EVERY VARIANT OF EVERY FIGURE TO DATE. Yeeeeah moment. Well, except the variants that aren't actually different and are just repainted figures, which are just too rare to find and too expensive to buy. So it's possible. I just chill out in Battle Mode from time to time now. Skylanders Universe is more insane. That goes to Level 50 per figure and it's basically smashing crates and a few minigames...
However, the FIGURES THEMSELVES are meant to be the replay value. Outside of leveling up, upgrading and doing Quests and Heroics there isn't much replay value besides Battle Mode or the different difficulties. That's one problem I have with the Skylanders series... Infinity looks better to me because it looks like the playsets will actually represent full games more whereas everything with Skylanders is half a game you're meant to fill by buying new toys. Either way, it's always been that way with Skylanders, and I've been watching the scene and I don't understand why people are only discussing that now. The main game will probably last for five to seven hours before you beat it, and take about twelve to fourteen to 100%. If that main game content doesn't satisfy you for the price then Skylanders isn't worth it, because the only content left is on the figures.
The Portal of Power and its figurines aren't impressive, innovative gadgets that bring magic to a video game. It's cheap, off-the-shelf technology, and gamers are required to spend large amounts of money on these toys to get everything out of their game disc.
Yes, and this is a plain truth. Do you know something that really sickened me about Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure? The fact that people made it out like these toys and figures were innovative. In reality- step back. No, they were not. They're just a fancy way to switch characters rather than using a menu. To top things off, UB Funkeys did essentially the same thing YEARS AGO.
Now- don't get me wrong, I actually enjoy Skylanders. For godsakes, I own Jin Saotome's Tech Portal and Sprocket customs. And I love them both. But to say the franchise did anything special, actual-game-wise or that the toys themselves are a droolingly amazing and propelling step of an idea? Nah.
In the end, the question is which game you enjoy most. The shelf of plastic, or just good old discs and cartridges? Me, I enjoy both, so I get both. But as pretty as the shelf of plastic is, I just can't keep filling it up at this rate. I hope we don't see every company and their mascot doing this in the future, because that will just deter people from what could otherwise be great games waiting(myself included).
@Chunky_Droid Oh yes. It's horrible here. Skylanders cost $8 when they first came out in America and $16 here! Though they're about the same now... $10 there and $12 there... So maybe it won't be that bad. I hope that Disney be generous or at least don't have their donkeys in their heads with the figure releases(I.E. NOT RELEASING ENTIRE BATCHES OF CHARACTERS A MONTH EARLY IN CERTAIN REGIONS AND HEAVILY DEPLETING STOCK ). @DarkCoolEdge Did you even watch the gameplay? Disney Infinity is an action platformer with a sandbox aspect. Skylanders is a dungeon crawler. They are not similar at all besides the toy aspect.
I think June is a perfect release date. Nothing Skylanders-related will be released then besides possibly some variants and new Sidekicks, neither of which will generate much hype. It also gives people, like me, who are interested in both, an oppurtinity to try it out and "decide" between it and Skylanders before Skylanders 3. I don't really mind the price... I'll just buy whatever ones I like and ask for the rest during holidays, at least I don't intend to collect them like Skylanders. Getting some things might be hard though. According to an FGTV (whoiamstillboredby) article, when asked one of the producers smiled to the idea of conventional/rare pieces. I hope those are just reprinted variants like Skylanders rather than new pieces or powers, because it would be much more expensive to get them than, say, Metallic Cynder. I could never go to Disney Land, for instance.
I saw a pretty awesome DS Lite once. It was carved with the Layton logo and the Professor himself with gold paint in the carvings. Because it was black it looked brilliant. Those look awesome... Maybe I'll get a commission one day.
To be honest, I think a large amount of the fans are getting tired of Skylanders. Play-wise, Giants didn't change much from the first game, and a lot of people are whining with impatience for the figure releases. I think that Infinity can strike well, honestly, and if it does reach its complete potential it will crush Skylanders which is just a pretty dungeon crawler. It also has Ralph in it. Skylanders does not have a Ralph.
Ugh, I hate the competitive/championships stuff. No offense to people who do enjoy it, but I'd much rather just play ingame, yet I also want to go battle online... But I can't because I just don't have the time to learn how to be competitive nor actually do so. It's frustrating that I can't play Random Matchups without becoming a Smogonite. I do like the idea of it and all, but I really find it boring to actually get desired IVs, Nature and Ability and it makes training Pokémon boring. I really, seriously wish I could just battle a regular good old battle someday. But everyone's gone competitive nowadays. I'm not strictly anti-competitive, but it's a bit of a problem when it's a chore to look for people that don't battle with a competitive team.
Ahh, I love arcade games! I've never played a true cabinet one, but I have played some ports of them. A lot of classic gems there. The feeling of getting a great score is wonderful. I watched King of Kong, that film was awesome. I think a sequel with the newer champions would have potential! Congratulations on the high score @Vincent_Lemay!
Protocarts are always suspicious. I actually have the demo disc of the Japanese version of Spyro the dragon, which is arguably the rarest version of any Spyro game(well, except, maybe, Tomendo Tours). So I sort of have something like this, though it will never be nearly as desired.
Check out the CoroCoro scans. Xerneas is standing above the logo for Pokémon X while Yveltal is hovering above the logo for Pokémon Y. Ahem. Anyway, look at their awesome art too!
Origins has disappointed me so far. I'm playing it on my 3DS at the moment, and I'm up to, I believe, the fourth world. While the game looks beautiful, the gameplay... Ehh. It's fun, but it's nothing special. Legends, on the other hand, looks better in terms of graphic direction as well as general gameplay, so hopefully that will be more "wow" instead of "cool".
That's okay methinks. They usually get things last, so they can have this one. I still wish Nintendo would nail down release dates for the western side of the world, though.
That is quite cool. The graphics are probably some of the best on the DS. For two weeks, this is wonderful work. And Crash DOES NOT NEED TO BE A SKYLANDER. It won't lead to a new game for him(see: Spyro, who we don't even have any hints of anything on), it will make majority of the fanbase upset, and it will only be negative for the character as a whole(like Spyro probably no, new, games!).

Re: Get A Load Of These Awesome Custom Nintendo Consoles
I saw a pretty awesome DS Lite once. It was carved with the Layton logo and the Professor himself with gold paint in the carvings. Because it was black it looked brilliant.
Those look awesome... Maybe I'll get a commission one day.
Re: Disney Infinity Heading to Wii U, Wii and 3DS This Summer
@CaptainSquid Well, good news! Ralph is right at the back of the cast.
Re: Activision On Disney Infinity: We're Flattered
To be honest, I think a large amount of the fans are getting tired of Skylanders. Play-wise, Giants didn't change much from the first game, and a lot of people are whining with impatience for the figure releases. I think that Infinity can strike well, honestly, and if it does reach its complete potential it will crush Skylanders which is just a pretty dungeon crawler. It also has Ralph in it. Skylanders does not have a Ralph.
Re: Pokémon Video Game Winter Regional Championships Begin This Sunday
Re: Warcraft-Loving Canadian Almost Becomes The King Of Kong
Ahh, I love arcade games! I've never played a true cabinet one, but I have played some ports of them. A lot of classic gems there. The feeling of getting a great score is wonderful.
I watched King of Kong, that film was awesome. I think a sequel with the newer champions would have potential!
Congratulations on the high score @Vincent_Lemay!
Re: Ultra-Rare Tengen Tetris Prototype Up For Auction
Protocarts are always suspicious.
I actually have the demo disc of the Japanese version of Spyro the dragon, which is arguably the rarest version of any Spyro game(well, except, maybe, Tomendo Tours). So I sort of have something like this, though it will never be nearly as desired.
Re: Renegade Kid's Upcoming FPS Will Focus On Single Player
@KnightRider666 Are people STILL going on about that? -_-
Re: Feature: Pokémon X & Y - What We Know So Far
Check out the CoroCoro scans.

Xerneas is standing above the logo for Pokémon X while Yveltal is hovering above the logo for Pokémon Y.
Ahem.
Anyway, look at their awesome art too!
Re: Ubisoft: Wii U Power Meant No Limitations For Rayman Legends
Origins has disappointed me so far. I'm playing it on my 3DS at the moment, and I'm up to, I believe, the fourth world. While the game looks beautiful, the gameplay... Ehh. It's fun, but it's nothing special.
Legends, on the other hand, looks better in terms of graphic direction as well as general gameplay, so hopefully that will be more "wow" instead of "cool".
Re: Trine 2 Magic Mayhem DLC Appears Unlikely To Happen
Gotta love that Disappointment tag.
Re: South Korea Is Getting Animal Crossing: New Leaf Before North America And Europe
That's okay methinks. They usually get things last, so they can have this one.
I still wish Nintendo would nail down release dates for the western side of the world, though.
Re: Footage of Renegade Kid's Crash Bandicoot DS Demo Emerges
That is quite cool. The graphics are probably some of the best on the DS. For two weeks, this is wonderful work.
And Crash DOES NOT NEED TO BE A SKYLANDER. It won't lead to a new game for him(see: Spyro, who we don't even have any hints of anything on), it will make majority of the fanbase upset, and it will only be negative for the character as a whole(like Spyro probably no, new, games!).
