Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (23rd March)

Finally been enjoying Shadow of Mordor. This is the third time I've tried to pick the game up, and having a blast this time around (Don't know why, but the game just didn't click with me the first two times). Aside from that, I plan to crack out some Super Metroid this evening whilst streaming

I've played a lot of games in my time, but I put Outer Wilds up there as one of the best (if not, THE best) examples of story-telling in the medium. One of those games that it pains you that you'll only ever get to play it for the first time once.

So me and a bunch of other Xeno fans were keeping each other updated on the sub-Reddit about this yesterday. It seems that only those who were on the site within the first minute or two got their copies for the vast majority of the day. At about 8pm UK time, the site went live again, showing the CE as out of stock. However, if you refreshed at certain points, it became available again... for like 5 minutes.
I was lucky, I got mine ordered at that point. But I did have several error messages in the process. It's showing on my MNS account and I got the email though, so I think I'm safe.
But yeah, my heart bleeds for those who missed out. This was all-around a massive cluster :/

Re: Talking Point: What's The Worst Game That You Still Love For Some Reason?

For me, it's Eledees (or Elebits, outside of the PAL region). When I got that game with my Wii as a kid, it charmed me in a big way. i played it through numerous times, made my own stages, got S ranks etc.
But yeah, the game's a crude, janky mess that crawls at like 15fps whenever too much happens on the screen at times. I played it again recently, and still had a great time

Re: Talking Point: How Were You Introduced To Metroid?

Dragozan

For me, I first became aware of Metroid through Smash Bros on N64 (That game actually opened the floodgates for me, as I realized there was more to Nintendo than Mario, Zelda and Pokemon). It was actually my brother who got Metroid Fusion as a birthday present, so that was my first proper exposure to Metroid

Re: Soapbox: After 25 Years, Pokémon Legends: Arceus Will Be My First Pokémon Game

Im remaining cautiously optimistic with this game. Pokemon was a huge part of my life, but I ended up passing on the Gen 4 remakes and SwSh DLC. There's a lot I like the look of so far with Legends, and (as long as the gameplay holds up) I won't pass on it just becuase of the graphics or anything (even though I wholly agree they could be better). Will be one that I'm going to wait for reviews on first though.
