Re: Reggie Wants Your Dream Nintendo Franchise/Developer Pairings

Digiki

I don't want Bioware or Square anywhere near Zelda or a Mario RPG.
Bioware has already proven themselves irrelevent with Sonic, and Square made that good old SMRPG travesty.

Intellegent Systems has been doing well, and should continue with their Mario RPGs.
I'd place faith in Sega making an awesome F Zero game.
Smash Bros. in the hands of Capcom and SNK would be cool, I doubt I'd despise the direction they'd take with it, like Sakurai's vision for Brawl

Re: Review: Super Smash Bros. (Virtual Console / Nintendo 64)

Digiki

Agrees with you.

I prefer SSB battle system to Melee's simply because Melee is a lot harder to get great at, so even though I can beat all there is to do in Melee, there is still a huge amount of skill to gain (I don't even l-cancel consistently ) If I was awesome at Melee though I'd most definitely love it.

New Dragon Quest is
Developed by Intelligent Systems is
Going to be available on DSiWare for 500 points is very worrying

Enix and Intelligent Systems haven't let me down before, although then again since I won't get this they won't be letting me down if it is a poor game.

Re: Dragon Warrior Monsters

I rebeat it a few months ago using only slime family members, Spotking was too good. Shame it only has one save, I miss my full library current file has 146/215, I still have a decent number of gates left to beat, since I just took out Master Monster Tamer as soon as I was strong enough, then stopped playing.

Re: What Wii Owners Play

Digiki

i may be committing suicide by saying this,

...silly over exaggeration...

but i think smash bros is really over rated, unfun, and pretty much sucks in every way. I really can't understand how someone can get so much time out of it!

Okay, what do you dislike about it?

Re: Review: Pokémon Red and Blue (Game Boy)

Digiki

G/S/C improved on it's predeccesor, R/S replaced good features with annoying ones, then D/P made it ugly and slow (I hear Platinum fixes the speed, and doesn't suck).

Deserved a 10 back in the day, a 9 being played on the Gameboy is fair, since this is fairly slow, with archaic menus. But with Pokemon Stadium speed enhancement it's just as awesome as ever.

This game isn't hard, it's the hardest Zelda, but it's still not hard. I don't see why you're directly linking difficulty with how much time it takes. It can be beaten faster than a lot of the other Zeldas. An alternate ending doesn't make this game special (nor are all the masks required for it), although it is amazing nonetheless.

Re: Talking Point: Should Game Stories Be Regarded as Highly as Literature?

Digiki

Videogame stories shouldn't be regarded as highly as literature simply because, literature is focused specifically on storytelling. The majority of great videogame stories don't compare to great literature, and why would they? Great stories can be written, but there are many other elements that must mesh with the story for the game to be good.

Re: Talking Point: Could The Conduit Be in for a Rough Ride at Retail?

Digiki

Wasn't HotD some sort of port though?

As long as it gets good review scores I think it'll sell well, Onslaught has been doing great on WW, so there are a lot of FPS fans with a Wii. It's also got a fair amount of hype. (Although to be fair Mad World did too, on the flipside, I'm sure plenty of shallow gamers were put off by the art style, and then huge amounts put off by how violent it is.
