Yes, Mario Kart is basically the same game on the DS and the Wii.

Let's see Wii is much less skill based due to powerful slingshotting (which as far as I know the DS version didn't have at all), more powerful items including one that hurts you when you get it if your at the head of the pack, new miniturbo mechanic which removes snaking but decreases the depth (just like the new airdodge mechanic in brawl stops wavedashing). Basically the DS version is the straight up Nintendo experiance of old, while the Wii version is the more casual easy to pîck up and play version the Wii has been targetting ( personally I see catering too much to the casuals to be THE worst thing in gaming at the moment

In fact, Smash Bros. really hasn't changed since it was on the N64.
Wrong. Melee added tons of depth, with the reduced hitsun, airdodges, directional influence, side-b moves, sidestep dodges, directional throws, etc.

So a game on the DS would be almost the same thing, with DS controls slapped on.
If you think that anything other than an advanced N64 port would be like that your just being ignorant.
As such the DS would have different physics than Brawl making it a different beast, just like how Melee and Brawl are vastly different beasts. Anyways if Nintendo is willing to put forward a strong effort into a game theres no reason not to make it just cause another game in the series is on another console.

@ SuperMario
No releasing Smash Bros DS would not hurt the Wii's sales, if people were going to buy a Wii for Brawl most people would've done so by now seeing as it's been out in America for 6 months ( as of tomorrow). Also if there was a Smash DS that came out the same time as Brawl it would be a vastly different game, so it wouldn't hurt the Wii sales enough to make the DS version unproffitable.

@Mr. Cheez
I can use the Good Cap'n, he's one of my best, but that doesn't make him a good character, also Captain Falcon was alot better in Melee due to hitstun which let him combo to his mighty Knee of Justice. Also Olimar is very very good except for his terrible recovery, he also has a high learning curve. Anyways if you think your Falcon (or anyone else is pretty good) I'll brawl you sometime my FC is 0387- 8467- 4163 Benjy

@PHANTOM93
It's a fact that some characters are better than others. Personally I also can't stand Dedede either but that doesn't make him any less good.

@x.SuperMario.x
Yes people want the new updated version, which the hypothetical version would be (if it was more than a slightly advanced N64 port).
The Wii wouldn't sell less just because smash was on the DS as it would be a completely different game than Brawl

Anyways personally I'd like to see a full fledged effort put into a 2d smash bros, as in sprites. Allowing for more characters and such, but I doubt they'd put the effort in.

@Will
I respect that opinion, I'm guessing it's a little too slow, unbalanced, and lacking in advanced techniques for your liking?
Oh and the lack of hitstun and the new airdodge mechanic stop combos. Personally I prefer it to Melee as I don't have any competition to regulary play with so Brawls online will do.

@Badknux
Everything you said about the smash characters is wrong, Snake is the 2nd best character in the game by a longshot due to his superfast, highly damaging, long-range, huge knockback tilts. Aswell as his infinite recovery, and excellent camping ability. Ness's recovery is somewhat poor due to how easy he is to gimp, but Lucas's is in no way terrible, plus he has a tether. Dedede is one of the best characters in the game due to chaingrabs, great weight and recovery, great aerials, great up tilt, and spammable waddle dees. Jigglypuff is almost the worst though because of her terrible weight and attack range. Captain Falcon is the worst character due to his bad priority, and poor power to speed ratio on his moves.

@x.SuperMario.x
How praytell(sp?) is Smash Bros DS a terrible idea, how does having Nintendo's best franchises on both of their current systems going to stop people from buying one of the consoles. By that logic why would anyone have bought the DS or Wii, all the best franchises are out on older systems (and they're better games too).

@carson
I strongly disagree, that is all

@ Mr. Cheez
Yep good ol' Captain Falcon, even though he's the worst character in brawl I still main him and even win most matches that arn't against the ridiculously overpowered Snake and Metaknight ( friendly challenge going out to anyone interested)

Anways I got SMRPG monday played for a few hours that day and havn't turned on my Wii since, which is ironic as I have great games to play, but cutting my gaming hours back is for the better as I started grade 11 on Tuesday

I had the exact same experiance was playing the ROM at school, got to the that area, jumped around for a little while then gave up. I later found out you had to hold the bubble-blower button for a few seconds.

@ supermario
I completely agree with Mr. Cheez that your avatar does make you seem a bit more confrontational, and can play a role in misunderstandings, such as the one like 2 weeks back.

@Rapidash6
The first 3 Mario Parties were made of w1n, so was Mario Tennis on N64, and the Mario Golfs, and Strikers Charged was quite good too.

Speaking of Mario Party, I'd love to get 2 as it is MIA from my N64 collection, and am quite suprised none of them have came out yet.

Next time you refute something I'd suggest actually trying to refute it instead of just sarcastically agreeing with it, and then arrogantly stating there are more parts of Stuffgamer1's post that you deem ridiculous. I would appreciate it if you explained how thinking that Nintendo is not perfect, has made a mistake, and may be making a mistake with what they're doing with the VC at this time, is ridiculous.
P.S. What would you call Nintendo's E3 press conference?

Well I knew that it's just I don't really want to delete anything right now, and I think it's realistic to assume that Nintendo will have a storage solution around or before Christmas

Out of the FFs my fave would be IV, followed by VI, V, II, I, III, then VIII. But I never really played VIII that much ( didn't get much farther than early disc 2) because it was on the PS that I got around a year ago and haven't used much. If it was playable on the DS like all the earlier releases I would've played more. Last thing FF related, personally I think VI is a liitle overglorified, it's an excellent game but I don't see it as a top 10 videogame like many lists.

Anyways I'm guessing on Monday were getting Ys I&II, alongside SS2.
