@Mahe Haha thanks mate, you have a great taste in games to know where it's from. . I dunno if I agree or disagree, I'm not going to claim to be some market expert. All I know is that the vast majority of casuals from what I've seen have moved to iOS/Android phones and tablets.
All the casuals left the home console market. Casuals play those terrible phone games.
Either way, yes Nintendo isn't going great but the whole video game industry is. Soon Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox will be nothing more than a streaming service. Dedicated hardware is on the way out, and Nintendo is the first to really bite the dust.
@DarkToonLink Totally understandable. Not sure whether or not I want it (Gotta do some more research into it.) I would like a good fighter for the 3DS, but fighters always seem to suffer on Nintendo handhelds. I'm Aussie myself, but if I decide to get it will definitely go for the physical copy.
@mch Good to hear man. Personally I think you should have played them in the order they come out to fully understand everything, but nevertheless hope you're having a blast man. Criminally (pun intended) underrated series.
There is a movie on the best North American Tetris player on the NES version, fantastic watch and I recommend it to everyone. It's called 'Ecstasy of Order'.
@allav866 It wasn't a fact, it was you showing repulsive behaviour against said games and songs because they didn't exist on Nintendo platforms. Good games are good games and good songs are good songs. A platform is just a means to play the game.
@CrimsonSkidmark I imagine there would be some FFX songs in both games as the remaster was just released in Japan with a redone soundtrack. I wouldn't expect overlapping songs from other games, IE: One Winged Angel. Just my speculation, take it with a grain of salt.
@PrincessSugoi I know I know, as I said in another comment it's more so wishful thinking. I didn't buy #5 because it was digital - I don't like digital so voting with my wallet. I was hoping maybe Sony would publish it as a 2nd party title if it was Vita so there would be far more of a chance of a physical copy. But as I said, wishful thinking. I would like to play #6 and stay true to my beliefs in ownership of video games oppose to digital "rental"
@CaviarMeths Wishful thinking more so. For instance maybe Sony has cheaper royalty fees for Vita than Nintendo's 3DS? I dunno. But I don't like digital so I didn't buy 5, though I love 1-4.
He has a good point, it's worded poorly. But all I'm reading are silly Nintendo fanboy comments. As what I'm observing, Nintendo's hardware is getting worse and worse but there software is remaining high quality. Is Nintendo doomed? Nah. But they are losing their magic.
I agree with him for the most part. No reason to have a whole range of systems dedicated to just one publisher. Nintendo since N64 is awful for third party.
GameBoy was insanely awesome, and while it's still loved I don't think people love as much as they should. Many great memories of playing Tetris with my sister and Pokemon with my brother. (I had Red he had Blue) Many other great experiences I had alone such as Metroid 2, Kirby, Link's Awakening, Tiny Toons and some Castlevania game.
@electrolite77 I know what happened but it doesn't make my point invalid. That's like saying just because you have a disagreement with your friend that your friendship is over.
@Melkaticox Yeah, because SCEA were such A-holes when they wished Nintendo all the best with their Wii U launch. Please explain how they are A-holes, please.
@aaronsullivan Maybe not always but 99% of the time. The only time I recall any of them not being quite so friendly are old Official PlayStation Magazine ads. I remember seeing adverts of Cloud from FF7 cutting through N64 cartridges. Apart from that people from both companys have claimed to own multiple consoles from the other side. Sony made the SNES sound chip and wished Nintendo good luck with their Wii U launch and what not. Some higher ups have also claimed to be friends with the staff from the others. They're as friendly as rival companies can ever get in my eyes.
How is this even new to people? Sony and Nintendo have been friends since NES days when Sony published games exclusively to NES and SNES under the name Sony ImageSoft. They have been buddies with each other ever since. You got no ground to love one but bash the other.
The way I see it Nintendo's fanbase for the most part goes in cycles, and these times are no exception. I grew up with the NES and SNES, I lost faith in the big N when they released the N64, 'cause they stuck with cartridges and only had 3 games I care for, for it I placed them in the "casual" column. I continue to buy Nintendo consoles for 2 franchises, Fire Emblem and Metroid, but Nintendo has killed Metroid on the Wii so I guess just Fire Emblem now. The people who ditched Nintendo in the recent years are the Nintendo 64 and GameCube crowd as far as I can tell. All my mates who I use to play NES and SNES with couldn't care less about Nintendo. Once I felt like Nintendo stopped targeting me I moved to the PlayStation (1) because all the games I loved for the most part carried over to there, Chrono, Final Fantasy, Castlevania etc. The truth is, Nintendo targets younger audiences, that's not to say that adults cannot play Nintendo, but they are not their main goal. Most will grow out of it. That's just the way it is.
It's a common cycle of "Nintendo is doomed", it's just generally when the next generation of gamers come in, the former Nintendo audiences moves on to the more adult orientated platform.

Re: Poll: Is Nintendo's Wii U Advertising and Marketing Doing Enough?
Maybe they should have games before advertising.
