Re: Talking Point: How Does Switch 2's Launch Price Compare To Past Nintendo Systems?

Daric

the first commenters don't really understand what inflation is.
Decreased spending power is a consequence. The idea is that the NES would come out at 600$ today, regardless of being easier or harder to afford 600 today compared to 200 back then.
Not to mention games were much more expensive back then too.

By all metrics, anyone gaming today enjoys a sweet deal compared to the 80/90s. Especially when taking into account we're playing stuff we only dreamed of back then.

Nobody is entitled to owning a Switch 2. If you can't afford it, don't buy it. If enough people don't buy it the price will drop. Just wait.

@Chocoburger Frontiers had a 5 year development cycle, and i believe Forces also had some 4 years.
It's not just more time = better games. The Mario team is composed of top worldwide developers. In normal circunstances they are always going to have a better product
Still, Sonic games can be good, sometimes they are very good

@Guybrush20X6 anyone even remotely interested in playing Fifa is well aware that the next game won’t be called Fifa at this point. Even football clubs themselves are spreading the information.
People don’t buy Fifa because it says so on the box. They enjoy the game, and can immediately tell what it is just by looking at it play. No one mistook Fifa for PES, no need to look at the box
