As reported yesterday, it seems some Switch owners have already got hold of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Since our initial post, the floodgates have now well and truly opened - and there's quite a lot of previously unseen footage of the remakes circulating across sites like YouTube and Twitter. You can see new model poses, animations, listen to the in-game music, and even see full shots of the game's town maps. There's battle footage, too.
Certain Twitter accounts have also been retweeting quite a lot of this footage, and over on YouTube - some simple Pokémon word searches will lead to even more video footage. A popular Pokémon leaks subreddit has shared new footage as well, and you can even see the game's Switch cartridge.
Of course, we probably won't be featuring any of the videos or photos here on Nintendo Life (at least directly) - but now you know that footage of the upcoming release is out in the wild. So tread carefully online if you don't want to find out too much about these remakes ahead of release.

I wish I was surprised at this but it's happened to like all of the games Nintendo have released in the last few months
It's a bit silly that it's leaking 2 weeks ahead of time, but with these two games i really want to know what i'm getting before plopping down EUR60.
Pokemon games used to be a "Day 1"-purchase for me, but lately i want to know a bit more than "It's the latest pokemon game!" before deciding...
I've been playing it for three days, great game (s).
@thiz Fully support this post. Story-wise there ain't much to be spoiled. Need to know the Pokedex before I decide getting into this agin.
How do you spoil a game that came out years ago? Its a pokemon game?
@Lordplops is there battle frontier/mega/distortion world?
@Snatcher It's still a remake, so a new game. There might be some changes.
@sanderev True, Still, I don't think you can spoil much about a Pokemon game.
I did wish however, That people would just limit the leaks to threads made for the leaked Game play, I was thinking about getting this so I'm checking out the leaked footage.
Footage, new model poses, animations, in-game music, cartridges, town maps all these are promotional material, no harm done. Its not as bad as the new 007 movie or Taylor Swift album released in full for free
Oh no(?)
It's a 15 year old Pokémon game. There is literally nothing story wise to spoil, every Pokémon game has such a barebone plot that it hardly matters. And like some have said, seeing if they have some elements from the original that may have been cut because Pokémon Devs are like that isn't really a bad thing. It's stuff they should have detailed before launch.
If you get that upset about it... I mean, good for you? But it's Pokémon at the end of the day, it's not like there is some super deep rich plot to spoil or the like. "Oh no they spoiled like the two new variants they added" is probably the most I could see as a true spoiler. And even then, that's likely not even a thing for this game so that's out the window
@thiz The Battle Frontier was a brilliant part of the game (and Emerald prior) which was a real challenge and gave people a look at the deeper system around the series.
So of course The Pokemon Company won't bring it back. They are now allergic to anything remotely challenging. They love options as long as they are easy, easy, easy. Even the postgame 'harder' challenges are now pitifully easy.
I'm surprised it made it past 1 game to be honest given their knack for abandoning features 1 game on.
Er, I think leaks from a game that came out in 2006 are the least of our worries.
Tbh what's there to spoil
Oh nooo they spoiled that i can find a pikachu in the wild!!!
Or that u can use normal pokebals to catch normal pokemon!! Evillll people
I'm really not fussed about potential spoilers for a Pokemon remake. What's killing me is trying to not have SMT V spoiled by Friday. Reddit is absolutely swimming in posts showcasing individual demons and other things I just don't want to see before I see them in the game.
@Crockin
Lol exactly that
Hopefully we can get some concrete details about the post-game then before release.
Everyone else has already made the same point by now, but yeah, I'll echo, what's there to spoil but potential benefits? There is no story to spoil, this is intentionally the same story as before without adjustments, it has been their whole advertising cycle for this thing. Oh no, Darth Vader is Luke's dad. Shock and awe.
What would be good to spoiled about is gameplay mechanics in what the company is restricting and/or upholding to their prior words. They said in the whole SwSh debacle that no future game will have Pokemon returning. Then they threw DLC at that game returning the majority. Do these remakes strictly adhere to just gen 4's pokedex? Do they have everyone returning postgame? If no and they're scattershotting their choices again, is there anyone between SwSh and BDSP that is wholly impossible to use in Generation 8?
And so-on and so-forth. This is just info that would want to be known up front.
Just let me know if I can dump my entire living Dex from Home to BDSP so I can stop paying monthly and whether there's a Battle Frontier or not and they can "spoil" these games all they want.
Good.
On this one occasion the more that’s leaked and the quicker it’s leaked, the better.
Lay all them leaks on me, baby.
I should watch out to not get spoiled of a game I at least played 10 times since the original came out.
The internet is also full of gameplays of the original games.
goood, i don't know what's interesting about them from what they announced. was there anything to leak?
As someone who played Diamond and Platinum to death, those leaks will hardly be spoilers for me
When do you guys think we will get Back and White 1 and 2 remake?
Everyone saying what is there to spoil seems to operate under the assumption that everyone who has a Switch today has not only played the originals, but is also old enough to have been around when they launched. For all the people who started with Sword and Shield, these are effectively new games. Might do you good to think outside your own bubble now and then.
Isn't that a good thing? You need to evaluate purchases when you buy them, and leaks can be a good way.
These games made me go on eBay and buy a copy of the original Pokemon Platinum. I definitely spent more than I would have liked, but at least it was money spent on a game that's worthwhile (unlike these soulless remakes).
Thanks guys, I'll leave YouTube alone for a few days!
@ValZ not for fans who are afraid of spoilers and blindly dish out money at a game they are hyped about
@Curbie Pokémon games barely have a story, if you played one you know exactly how all the other ones will play out. There really isn't anything to spoil, even if you haven't played the originals.
It "leaked" 15 years ago. Mindless dorks making a stink should probably touch down in reality every now and then.
I mean, is there even anything to spoil? It seems to be a pretty safe remake.
It’s not like there’s anything new content-wise aside from the new visual look.
I just want to know if the damn Frontier is in this or not...or what the post-game actually has. -.-
Why would I care if some people got the game early, good for them I say.
This seems to be becoming the common trend between major releases these days. It is hard keeping a game's release a secret and preventing spoilers with so many ways for the games to get leaked being available. It is tough for both the consumers that don't enjoy spoilers and the developers that put their heart and soul into a game. The modern internet I guess, the first to get the scoop on the internet gets the proverbial worm.
Oh no spoilers for a ten year old game.
I can't imagine there are a ton of surprises...
It's not my style of play leaked or stolen games. I will just wait until release and pay $60.
Assuming all the folks that say you can't spoil a fifteen year old game must have played the game fifteen years ago and there is no one left on earth who hasn't? I bet the same folks talk through the movie because they've seen it before.
@thiz battle frontier is the make it or break it aspect for me
@Scott_PdP I mean, there's also stuff about the original games as well, but I see your point
Spoiler - it sucks just like every Pokemon game for at least 10 years now
