As well as the Legendary Pokémon that will be available in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl's post-game, as revealed by The Pokémon Company earlier today, you'll also be able to get your hands on two Mythical Pokémon.
Both Mew and Jirachi will be available in-game, regardless of which version – Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl – you opt to play. To get them, you'll need save data from past Pokémon games on the same Switch system – here's how it works:
Mew
To get Mew in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you'll need save data from Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! on your system.
Speak to a madame in the flower field located on the southwest end of Floaroma Town to add Mew to your team.
Jirachi
To get Jirachi in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you'll need save data from Pokémon Sword and Shield on your system.
Speak to a gentleman in the flower field located on the southwest end of Floaroma Town to add Jirachi to your team.
It appears that you're able to obtain both Mew and Jirachi on the same save file, as long as you meet the requirements for each mentioned above. However, even if you have save data for both Sword and Shield, for example, you'll still only be able to obtain one Jirachi (and the same applies for Mew).
Nintendo has today confirmed that Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will receive a patch before launch that you'll definitely want to make sure you download.

Mew is new species? Isn’t he the ancestor of all Pokémon? Yeah I get it, new species since he’s unknown
@dimi
I think it came in some Pokedex Entry or similiar.
@Topic
Is Save Data from the Demo enough ?
I suppose it's better than nothing?
So, basically freebies?
Remember when Legendaries were actually fun to catch? Sigh.
@Rob3008
To be fair these are mythical Pokémon, and you more often than not receive mythicals, rather than catching them.
Events where you actually go to catch the mythical in-game are surprisingly few.
@Rob3008 You rarely catch Mythicals and they were always event based as well, its only recently they have started giving out Mythicals in game without events.
Well i'm covered then what's nice.
Should've just said if hacking is required or not.
Imagine posting multiple spoilers for a game that's not even legitimately available yet!
Cannot wait for these great games to come out. I am getting diamond and my sister is getting pearl.
This is a clever idea, better than limited time events like in the old days
I don't own neither Let's Go nor SwSh so I guess I won't complete the dex?
So no need for that PokeBall thing to get Mew? Sweet
I'd be very surprised if you need save data from LGP AND LGE for Mew, or from Sword AND Shield for Jirachi, which is what the article states. It's got to be one or the other of each set of games, right? It certainly seems that way from a later sentence about Sw&Sh ("...even if you have save data for both Sword and Shield..."). Would you please change the wording in the article to make it Crystal clear?
Interesting. I'm gonna play this, as I have all recent Pokémon games, with a monotype team. I'd been planning on Ground, but the presence of an easily obtainable Jirachi could push me towards a Steel team.
@thiz Yeah sorry, I don’t believe you always throw one Hyper/Ultra Ball and ‘win the game’. Sure, sometimes that may happen, but legendary encounters in Gen I were an absolute pain with them having the ability to literally dodge the ball you throw at them.
Wait... they just give it away just like that?? That's kinda lame... where is the challenge in that?!! How boring... that doesn't feel rewarding at all, that's no fun.
Between these two and the free Manaphy, may as well just do an entire Mythical team!
Which might be fun solely because I rarely get to even use Mythical Pokemon…
Is there a time limit on this? I assume this applies only once per save file/console and isn't only available for limited dates.
Ok now THAT is awesome! Since I have let’s go eevee and sword I’m covered. 😄
I appreciate this nod to loyalty (not that I think the exclusivity is a necessity per se) it does seem like most Pokemon enjoyers would already possess one or both of these entries.
@KingMike the pokemon company revealed this information themselves
By the time the game comes out in a week and a half, this article will be buried. Does it make sense to post an article like this now?
@KingMike How is it a spoiler when this is official info giving out by TPC themselves.
@somerando Well, they're old people. Maybe they want their immortal companions to have a fresh start with a young person.
Already have saves from both previous Poke games so I am just waiting...
@KingMike This is news straight from The Pokemon Company, not the leaks.
@Rob3008 Mythicals, not Legendaries.
Legendaries are still fun to catch. Mythicals are event gifts for a reason.
@Chibi_Manny It's been that way with Mythicals since the beginning. Challenge is for the Legendaries, which, as you may know, are often a pain to catch.
@Chibi_Manny they never had you battle for mythical pokemon.like in pokemon red or blue you had to take your game to toys r us and that's how you got mew.
@KingMike actually it came out on the ds and besides the add on which isn't a spoiler
I remember when getting a legendary was exciting in the Red/Blue days.
Hunting down the birds, confronting Mewtwo, going to an event for Mew.
Now you just trip over them.
Yes but how can i ensure that they have tha proper nature ? Can i soft reset ??
For those who argue that getting mew and Ji that way is not challenging , i have to agree , but remember that in pokemon Lets GO P/E you had to buy the pokeball pluss (that cost almost the games price , and it had a chance that the pokemon wont even be there, because people bought the pokeball plus , took the pokemon and returned the product to the store) . i Just hope for a Darkrai in game event (with its island and all) that would be awesome!!
@thiz After navigating a huge labyrinth 😂
