@MarioBrickLayer Breath of The Wild more directly competes (in terms of genre) with a lot of the next gen offerings. Also launched around the same time as the first Horizon game lat time. That would be my bet for putting up against next gen
@DeclanS98 free if you own any Nakana io games (EQQO, Soul Searching, Lydia) which, in turn, were free a few weeks ago if you owned Blazing Beaks or Mana Spark - Mana Spark being a free game in the lead up to Christmas 2019.
@nessisonett I just don't see why it's an either/or situation.
We get updates about every incremental Splatoon update and [BRAND] Fortnite crossover. What's the harm in a single update for smaller games? Especially when the improvements are very positive for what the Switch is capable of outputting
With the amount of coverage this site gives Fortnite and Brie Larson you'd think there was some bias?
Meanwhile Risk of Rain 2 received a MASSIVE update on Switch last week that pushes the game up to 60fps (previously barely held 30) along with resolution boosts and a boatload of content and the coverage here is non-existent.
Thankfully you can play as Captain America in Fortnite for $30 though.
Never played the games as a kid, but have played the originals and remasters as an adult. Whilst the formulas are clearly from an age gone by, the games themselves are still fun and, in no way, feel frustrating, "old" or outdated.
After seeing this in motion at 30fps I assumed it must have been hard-locked to 30fps on consoles like Okami was. However, PS4 gameplay is locked at 60fps And considering this was made in Unity and not a 90s game engine (a la Ion Fury) I can't help but wonder why this is the case?
Nobody seems to be suggesting anything here in the comments either. Not like a game like this needs to be pushing 1080p over high frame rates.
Funny how Nintendo Life isn't sharing the DF video about how bad Outer Worlds is from a tech standpoint after their review was gushing about how good it looked.
Targeting 1080p doesn't mean it maintains 1080p. The screenshots on the eshop are very blurry, but I'm hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised with the final release. Will still probably wait for a sale though.
This dude is a massive consumerist who hoards far more stuff than he needs and gloats about it in the form of "YouTube content".
A real shame considering he came from near-poverty and now makes a living complaining about things and reviewing things he doesn't even have a full idea about.
Also goes through and deletes any and all comments that may be perceived as slightly critical towards him.
Not quite understanding the luke-warm response in The comments here.
I really started getting the hang of things in the last demo session. Pilfered a few kills where I could, took advantage of some opportunistic drone smashes and ended up winning 3 games in a row at one point
And the fact this is going to be F2P is fine by me. No need to be "sold" on a game that never requires you to spend money. Give it another shot, work out the kinks and if you still don't dig it, move on
Why does everyone suggest making a secondary account for different regional purchases (requiring a secondary email account) when you can just change the region of your main account via Nintendo Account on any phone or desktop browser without any repurcussions from switching back and forth?
This also keeps all your international purchases tied to one account if you were to transfer to a new system at some point down the line
@Deathwalka Are you insinuating a homophobic, transphobic or sexist remark with that comment?
Considering you've so heavily genderfied the statement and implied negativity associated with the feminine traits of nail polish it's clearly one of the three.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Deadly Premonition 2 On Switch
@BenAV were you ever interested in playing it anyway, or just having an opinion because?

@patbacknitro18 I've visited this site daily for about 5 years lol
You're not on the payroll, are you?
Re: Review: Infini - A Clever Spatial Puzzler That Looks Like No Other Game You've Played
@DeclanS98
No such thing as objective when it comes to art.
Saying such a thing implies you value your opinion as highly as fact as nimnio alluded to earlier

Re: Captain America Takes A Break From The Avengers To Play Some Fortnite
@nessisonett they covered it twice. One interview with a dev and a throwaway review in its pre-release state when the physical released in late 2019.
Re: Captain America Takes A Break From The Avengers To Play Some Fortnite
@Entrr_username
If your comment is serious, that's quite funny.
Re: Captain America Takes A Break From The Avengers To Play Some Fortnite
@Cool_Squirtle almost like a title like Risk of Rain 2 might benefit from some visibility on a site that has a large global reach 🤔

Low brow attempt at humour and entirely unnecessary. You clearly did it to get a response, so here it is now move on please.
Re: Here's Your Very First Look At The Cuphead Show "Coming Soon" To Netflix
So many opinions about a show that hasn't released. Amazing.
Re: Respawn Says Apex Legends Looks "Really Good" And Runs "Very Well" On Switch
@JR150 the developers said they could port anything to Switch with confidence though
Re: Respawn Says Apex Legends Looks "Really Good" And Runs "Very Well" On Switch
Respawn says Apex Legends "looks terrible" and "runs like s***"" would be newsworthy.
The porting team of Outer Worlds said something similar to this about their game and it wasn't the whole truth.
Re: EA Is Bringing Seven Games To Nintendo Switch Over The Next 12 Months
@sikthvash NBA Live won't be on Switch.
The 2K series (owned by 2K games believe it or not) is the basketball series we have on switch
Re: Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time Has Been Rated In Taiwan
@BenAV disagree.

I'm feeling A Way Out will be in for a good chance
Re: Review: Project Warlock - A Fantastic Tribute To The Very Best '90s FPS Classics
@60frames-please are you okay?
Re: Review: Project Warlock - A Fantastic Tribute To The Very Best '90s FPS Classics
@60frames-please
Whilst 60fps would be nice, your incessant need to have games at 60fps almost seems like a mental illness.
The fact that you've already given the game your money before doing research also suggests it's a mental thing rather than a moral thing as well.
Re: Review: Project Warlock - A Fantastic Tribute To The Very Best '90s FPS Classics
@Dragonslacker1 if you read the review you would have seen that the reviewer said the game feels too easy in anything under Hard mode.

Re: Review: Do Not Feed The Monkeys - An Enjoyably Oddball Adventure Laced With Real Tension
@BenAV out of sheer curiosity, how do you have the funds for loads of games as well as the time to actually finish them?
Re: Review: Do Not Feed The Monkeys - An Enjoyably Oddball Adventure Laced With Real Tension
@BenAV I notice you often talk about your backlog and the sheer number of Switch games you own.
Maybe it might be worth not buying every game you see review slightly well? That money could be used in much better ways than digital dust collecting
Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects - May 2020
@koekiemonster I've preordered the physical with high expectations despite middling reception
How is it on switch? And do you play at the 30fps lock or do you uncap it with the Konami code?
Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects - May 2020
@Murbs or does that simply further the rudimentary nature of review scores at all.
Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects - May 2020
Bug Fables is fantastic, but it shows the ludicrous nature of review scores on this site.
An "8/10" game beat out several "9/10" games which completely squashes the validity of the number system on this site.

Re: Tricky Towers Goes Physical On Switch With All DLC Included
Far out these comments are so negative.
I think I've put in close to 20 hours on this game across Switch and PS4. Was the main party game at my friend's place for almost a year.
I've personally hoped for a standard physical release for a while.
Don't bash something none of you have clearly played. Yikes.
Re: Swedish Retailer Updates Listing For Metroid Prime Trilogy On Switch, Says It's Arriving Next Month
@Incoherent1 Wind Waker wasn't a full on remake. Remaster would be the more applicable term.
Re: Rocket League's Getting A Limited-Time 'Boomer Ball' Mode
I'm surprised nobody here has made mention that "Boomer mode" has always been in the game.
It was popularised by youtubers. Basically you create a private match, set boost speed to 1.5, have unlimited boost and change ball speed to high.
Jon Sandman does it a lot with the likes of Lethymir, Mertzy, Musty, etc.
Re: Free-To-Play Elder Scrolls Game Expected To Launch On Switch Later This Week
@mesome713 your blind defence of Nintendo and berration of other developers is quite saddening

Re: Nintendo Just Launched Two Special Fire Emblem Game Variants On Switch In Japan
@Deltath I'm not "literally" saying anything you've insinuated.
Re: Nintendo Just Launched Two Special Fire Emblem Game Variants On Switch In Japan
@Deltath not if you plan on transfering just your main account to a new console
Re: Nintendo Just Launched Two Special Fire Emblem Game Variants On Switch In Japan
@ryancraddock
You don't lose your funds. The site just doesn't allow you to change regions if you have funds remaining
Re: Nintendo Just Launched Two Special Fire Emblem Game Variants On Switch In Japan
@PcTV you just beat me to it.
This should be the preferable way
Re: Nintendo Just Launched Two Special Fire Emblem Game Variants On Switch In Japan
Genuine question:
Why does everyone suggest making a secondary account for different regional purchases (requiring a secondary email account) when you can just change the region of your main account via Nintendo Account on any phone or desktop browser without any repurcussions from switching back and forth?
This also keeps all your international purchases tied to one account if you were to transfer to a new system at some point down the line

Re: Team Xbox Shares Custom Shirt And Jumper Designs For Animal Crossing: New Horizons
@nessisonett So you put in more effort for a less intelligent comment?
Why bother? Those comments are the equivalent of schoolkids making an annoying voice to mock others by repeating what they've just said
Re: Team Xbox Shares Custom Shirt And Jumper Designs For Animal Crossing: New Horizons
@nessisonett typing like that is the lowest form of internet humour. Devoid of any effort.
