Am I kidding to have an opinion? No. I’ve never docked my Switch. It’s a handheld system to me. The last system I had was a 3ds. The Switch feels like a monstrous evolution in handheld gaming, again, to me.
Guys, I’ve been playing this for about an hour and I can confirm that it’s awesome. Yes, visuals have changed but mostly for the better. Personally, I couldn’t care less about the cutscenes. The visuals in game definitely look better and the controls are better than they were. If you liked the originals, you’ll at least like these as much.
@PunkyKayla
You’re talking as though graphics is the only thing that matters. I’ll take this on my Switch over my iPhone because the controls will be infinitely better with an actual controller (unless you carry one of those iPhone add-ons in your pocket). And how will this release be crappy? It’ll play better than the originals considering the hardware it’s being played on is more advanced than the hardware it was originally released on. Did you think they were crappy when you first played these games? Then they won’t be now. There’s nothing to be negative about with this release especially considering we’re actually getting these games on a Nintendo system which I consider a small miracle.
Can’t freaking wait. This has been a wish of mine since I first got the Switch. Never thought I’d see a GTA game on a Nintendo platform (minus Chinatown Wars, which can’t scratch the full GTA itch). I may have to freeze myself ‘til Nov 11th.
Got both Dread and Tetris Effect. I can’t stop playing Effect. It’s freaking amazing. Never played it before but in one day it’s easily the best Tetris game ever and probably my favorite puzzle game of all time. Get it! On the OLED, it’s sublime and hypnotic. Dread is awesome too, by the way, but I keep booting up Effect.
@Thelastjedi2007
You actually can…through nintendo.com. Then when you start up your switch, it will download automatically and immediately. I figured that out when my wifi went out and I only had hours until a sale ended.
That’s funny. Geometry Wars was the first game I played within a game and I spent more time with it than the main racing game it came in. The quality and gameplay blew me away (it was also my first twin-stick shooter and I’ve been addicted to the genre ever since). Yeah, it’s a shame that company didn’t make it.
What a great idea for an article. I’ll never forget the love I had for the original Geometry Wars within the Gotham racing game (I think that’s what it was called).
All I remember was that I loved it but no one I talk to seems to have played it (which made me think it wasn’t popular and possibly not good). I’m glad to hear it’s actually considered a good game. I just pulled that out of my arse trying to think of an example.
I’ve really given it some thought on my commute and honestly I don’t think I have one. So not everyone has a bad game they love. Maybe the Tron arcade game from the 80s?
I think this was Nintendo’s slick way of implying that they know a lot of people sit on the toilet when playing. I’m mean, look at his posture! It looks like he’s squeezing one out and happily doing so.
I never said that was her whole story. Clearly you’re misunderstanding what I was getting at with my original comment anyway. And you must’ve known her to be speaking with such arrogant confidence.
@Shadowthrone
I don’t think it’s an “official” statement nor did anyone say anything about needing it.
Anywho, the new screen would be nice but I’m happy with my Switch as is. If there were more features like faster, more powerful chip, Bluetooth, and/or better battery life, I’d definitely bite. But just a screen I know I won’t notice much difference in (particularly when playing colorful games)…it’s a pass for now.
Agreed. I hate the labels “celebrities” and “stars.” Slightly off topic, but I can’t stand this society’s obsession with “famous” people. I put famous in quotes because that’s all most of them are. A celebrity is someone we celebrate. A star is what gives life in this universe. I wouldn’t equate someone famous with either one of those things. I celebrate people like Ghandi, Mother Theresa, MLK, etc. Those are celebrities in my mind. This whole Kardashian thing needs to go away and never return for it contributes so much to the rot of this society.
I know it’s slightly off topic, but Ripley from Alien and Aliens is one of the greatest if not the greatest fictional heroine in my mind. An awesome and realistic portrayal of a bad-ass woman who conquers fear. It was also a big deal and very forward-looking in the 70s to have a hero like that.

I was gonna say something similar; isn’t the Switch, in a way, a modern ds?

Of course it’s arbitrary. The article was just asking what you think about the visual comparisons.
Re: Random: Ever Wondered What Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Looks Like Without Cel-Shading?
It certainly takes away the magic.
