Re: Rumour: "Cheaper Version Of The Switch" Expected To Launch By The End Of June

BalrogtheMaster

Having a more powerful Switch Pro would ruin everything imo. For PS4 Pro/XBOX it just means two configurations for base/pro models, but with the Switch it would mean four. Porting games for everything would probably be a pain for devs. Then if games are exclusive to the Pro, you’re alienating the existing 30+ million install base AND the supposed cheaper model. Save the big upgrade for the next console.

Re: Review: Meme Run (Wii U eShop)

@Jeff1pnt3 @Sligeach Exactly, I was about to post these! How can Spikey Walls (A Flappy Bird clone with terrible music and no sound effects - Which was also a parody game, I might add) get a 4/10 here, but Meme Run gets a 1/10?

Re: Review: Meme Run (Wii U eShop)

I don't think the person in this review really tried to understand the game. There is actually a lot of depth to the mechanics.

  • You can't jump unless both of your feet are over the platform, which requires precise jumping. The game requires SKILL.
  • The ground shaking is only a distraction to the player and in no way ever makes it unfair to see where you're going.
  • Collecting memes in the game causes distractions to the player, but also increases your score multiplier. It's a game of risk and reward.

Yes, the game is a "joke" with obnoxious memes and all, but shouldn't a 1/10 belong to broken games? Meme Run is by all means a functional and somewhat addicting platformer. There are many worse games on the eShop.

Re: Talking Point: An Unplanned Flash Sale Looked Like Retail Download Genius from Nintendo

BalrogtheMaster

For consumers, it's great. But for Nintendo, it's a horrible idea. If they started doing flash sales like these sometimes, people will hold off buying the game in anticipation of one. And on top of that, consumers who bought the game at 5x the price would feel betrayed.

I know there's the whole digital vs. physical argument too, but I'm pretty sure most people would go digital if they could get their game at a fraction of the cost.

Re: Cave Story eShop Release Date Confirmed

BalrogtheMaster

I'll be honest, I'm kind of upset with what Nicalis did.

First off, I bought the DSi version for $10, and that was good fun. (Actually bought it twice because I traded in my DSi for a 3DS)
Then, I got Cave Story 3D, which I did like, but spent $40 for a pretty much inferior version.
And NOW this version comes out. I've already spent $60 on Cave Story, why can't this be a free DSi update? Or least cheaper for people who have that version?

Re: Review: Fractured Soul (3DS eShop)

BalrogtheMaster

Just bought the game, and I'm instantly hooked. Yes, it may look generic and there's no 3D, but the platforming is spot-on and incredibly fun. Imagine Megaman mixed with Chronos Twins and a Halo setting.

I'd actually give it a 9

Re: pitchWinPLAY Competition Cancelled

Neat idea, but:

-There was a $20 fee.
-The form was extremely intricate and took tons of time.
-You had to be 18.
-You had to be a fan of Renegade Kid.

I knew this wouldn't work from the beginning. Sad, because it seems like a neat alternative to Kickstarters.
