If there's one aspect of the Wii U that's a consistent comfort to those with any concern for the platform, it's that there's an enticing lineup of exclusive software on the way. Although there are inevitably more reveals to come in future months, there's a strong lineup for the remainder of the year and some blockbuster franchises due in 2014. The games are coming.
Nintendo UK has produced a flashy new video to reinforce just that point, featuring a range of titles from those already in stores to others that are on plenty of wishlists. Throw in some snazzy visual cues and what we have is an entertaining few minutes of game footage.
Check it out below and let us know what you think.

N-UK could teach some lessons to NoA. We need more promotion here in the states.
Just get rid of the walking vomit also known as the "Wii U difference" ad campaign.
This is more like it.
@mike_intv agreed, but i think the NA one would need to have a different order of games for it to work.
@Hunter-D
This is much better. Show why people need the system because of the awesome games!!
Now that's what I'm talking about! Nintendo really needs to just show off the games that you can't get anywhere else but on Wii U!
No Mario Party = no buy
Hands down hands down now.This is why i love nintendo so many good games.This trailer masterpiece
Will this like be on TV? I dunno, it seems a bit long.
already put this trailer on facebook.Share this trailer with everybody:)
@SirMario Really? Mario Party is your system selling game?
@SirMario WTF man. Are you saying theres NOTHING in this trailer you ont want?
What a great video to display the primary strength of the Wii-U. The best part about all this is, there are many games coming for Wii-U that we don't even know about yet.
Game's that are coming with no new footage? The problem with the Wii U is there are no games NOW.
There are games now.
Great trailer, I didn't even know the release dates for DK TF and SM3D World were November and December. I know what i'm asking for for Christmas!
fantastic video!
If I wasn't already convinced, this would certainly seal the deal.
New Super Mario Bros U
New Super Luigi U
Zelda: Wind Waker HD
Pikmin 3
The Wonderful 101
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
Super Mario 3D World
Mario Kart 8
Super Smash Bros
Project X
Bayonetta 2
Will be mine along Zombi U, Darksiders II, Splinter Cell, Watch_Dogs and Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Holy crap, I better start playing the lottery now...
Best bit was still Lego City
That was good trailer!
Nintendo of Europe's advertising seems really great. Whereas Nintendo of America really needs to work on it. I am always seeing trailers for video games on Comedy Central, FX, and Spike but 0 of them are Nintendo. Maybe if they would actually advertise then their product would sell. Marketing 101.
And please give us a release date for Wind Waker already. October is less than 2 months away!
Now that is a trailer.
@DarkKirby Lego city undercover, wonderful 101, super mario u,super luigi u, monster hunter, nintendoland,game and wario, art academy sketchpad, runner 2 future legend of rythm alien, toki tori 2, thats just the exclusives,care to rephrase the tired "no games" line? Oh and pikmin 3,knew id forget some!
This is the first I've heard of that Monolith Software Inc. game. BUT I WANT IT.
@SirMario
Dude just play Wii Party U, its the same thing
This is why I'm not worried about the Wii U. When PS4 and XBox One come out they are going to push a lot of "shoot the guy in the face" games. I like those games and I might buy an XBox One, but as an older gamer (I'm 30), I've been playing Zelda and Mario games my whole life. That's the reason to keep coming back to Nintendo. I think it's going to have the same turn around that the 3DS had. When Nintendo puts out great 1st party games, it won't need 3rd party support. I still only have 3 Wii games that I don't think are 1st party (Geometry Wars, The Last of Us, and Pandora's Tower), the rest of the games I still own are 1st party games.
I'm glad most of these games have multi-player options, much easier to explain to my partner why Amazon are delivering so many Wii U, PS3 & 3DS games lol.
They are lying. Smash Bros. is not a Wii U exclusive
Anyway, great trailer. Makes me glad that I own a Wii U.
@zeldagaymer93 - "And please give us a release date for Wind Waker already. October is less than 2 months away!"
I know right. And DKC:TF, and SM3DW. And Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics, which somehow wasn't in the video but the Olympics are big and in Feb. The 2014 games can wait, but 2013 should be dated by now.
I mean, each month only has 4 Tuesdays or Sundays, pick some already.
@Matillion If Nintendo was smart, they would split this commercial into multiple commercials and sell the Wii U this way worldwide. The 3DS had a smart commercial like this, when sales were going up in August 2011.
Sometimes I hate NoA.
I like this (way better than the awful comedy skits). NOA needs to promote Wii U like this. Most poeple in US dnt even know much about the console.
@rjejr Yeah it's sad they still don't have dates for November or December games. But there is literally no excuse that there isn't a date for Wind Waker. Watch Dogs comes out in November and Ubisoft gave it a date months ago.
Bayonetta 2 is going to be amazng!
@zeldagaymer93 I dnt know why people are so obsessed about dates. All they need to do in my opinion is give the month its coming. A specific date isnt going to do anything. We're still going to hav to wait.
@JohniePizzapies im in the same path
@zeldagaymer93 ???????
Wind waker is october 4th
@Marshi
I don't like the Lego games. I don't want Wonderful 101, I purchased Super Mario U on release day and was extremely disappointed, yet another side scrolling Mario game, I want an actual 3D Mario game, nothing wrong with Monster Hunter, but I prefer my MMOs on PC, Nintendoland is a party game that got old after the novelty of the new Wii U abilities wore off. Not interested in the rest of the stuff you listed.
Where is the actual 3D Mario game? Even the new Mario game being released is not actually 3D, it's fixed camera! Where is a new Zelda (despite how I am buying Wind Waker HD), Bayonetta 2 is next year, Mario Kart is next year, there should be a 3D Donkey Kong game! With the increased processing power of the Wii U all Nintendo is doing is making enhanced graphics Wii games! And what's worse is that 3rd parties are still not releasing their current gen games on the Wii U, which I would buy for the Wii U if they existed (as I did Splinter Cell, but Ubisoft alone isn't enough).
I want the Wii U to be great, I want it to be successful, but right now the thing I do most with my Wii U is still view youtube videos on my TV.
we also already know that Watchdogs is gonna be better then the xbox 360 and ps3 versions having exclusive features devoted to the gamepad
@DarkKirby Nintendo are doing what theyve always done mate,love em or hate em they are always guna do their own thing. You say all nintendo are doing is making hd wii games yet you want another 3d mario? I wont say nintendo are perfect,but they are trying new things with their existing franchises,a multiplayer sequel to mario3dland not only sounds great but it makes good business sense as it'l sell wiiu's.
Also if you're after mmo's you bought the wrong system dude,and you realy should give lego city and w101 a try,they are both excellent
this could well be a lie but someone i know who was at gamescon was speaking to someone from nintendo over a few drinks and he was in mid sentence saying they were developing super mario g before his boss cracked him accross the head with a back hander telling him to shut up
I seriously forgot about most of those games..
@SirMario Seriously? Mario Party? You Must Be Kidding me.
YOU CANT TOUCH THIS PS4 AND XONE WII U WILL SELL BIG IN 2013 AND 2014
The system is still screwed. The Xbox One and PS4 will each sell more units in their first 6 months than the Wii U has in its first year and a half.
Let's express our opinions without the need for attacking other "fanboys". Thanks. -Lz
ok @koopakid
@BATRA
You buy Nintendo systems to play Nintendo games. Any gamer who cares about games without 'Mario' in the title will buy another console.
@mercurio2054
Nintendo doesn't support their home consoles for more than 3 years. Once you get Mario Kart and Smash Bros, one 3D Mario and one Zelda game (that isn't a port of a 10 year old game) Nintendo will stop making games for it. After Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii the only major game that Nintendo released on the system during the rest of it's lifecycle was Skyward Sword. Oh, and that awful Kirby game.
@DarkKirby
The camera is not fixed. It has been shown in videos that you can move it. Trailers keep the same camera angle though.
And you are not mentioning Pikmin 3. Having a blast with that one.
New DKC music sounds INCREDIBALLS!
This is the internet. Why does it matter that one Nintendo branch isn't making trailers on the internet, where everyone can watch it anyway?
Sony and Microsoft have things called third-parties that develop games for their systems. Nintendo does not have these things. And yet people assume that just these Nintendo published games are going to save the system.
Lol "No one said you can touch." Bayonetta shall prove interesting if I decide to get it. Great trailer Nintendo now if only you would market better on t.v everything would be fine.
@Hunter-D Disagree. Nintendo would be stupid to advertise to someone like you. No offense, but you go to gaming websites to get information, you are aware of what is coming otu. You don't need to be advertised to. it would be flushing money down the toilet.
Its the people who don't follow news that they need to reach. If Nintendo just did these sizzle reels, the demographic they are trying to reach wouuld shrug. Showing a new Smash brothers or 'X' wont get the casuals on board. They use "Wii U Difference" to hit the soccer moms, casuals and others who don't live for gaming news.
Nothing Nintendo could do to grab dudebro gamers, so I don't see how advertaising to them would work either. those people are buying an xbox and playstation and thats it. Nintendo will forever be a kiddie console to this demographic.
I love how one is titled "A brand new game by Monolith Soft"
@Pachterkid ARE YOU A NINTENDO HATER ?
Wow, this was good
@element187 While I agree with the with the point you are trying to make a trailer like this also appeals to the casual audience, the soccer moms as you put it because what name would they recognize Mario, they'd wanna get their child the next Mario or Zelda game and this trailer shows those which is a major incentive to those casual consumers.
Now I'm not saying that the entire trailer is effective for casuals / soccer moms because it isn't game like Bayonetta 2 and X are most definitely hard core titles which appeal more to us in the online communities.
in short both of the Marketing campaigns have their ups and downs this one is better than the "Wii U Difference" campaign but lacks any sort of defining characteristic it is a highlight reel of upcoming games and nothing more.
Well, so much for enjoying this video. Can't even seem to be aloud to be happy for a second without someone spouting their "facts" on how Wii U will fail all over comments.
@Pachterkid You just called someone out for making an assumption by making an assumption yourself.
Look Nintendo has third party support in terms of partnerships, W101, Bayo 2, Sonic Lost World, SMT X FE are all examples of third party EXCLUSIVE games that are coming to the Wii U.
Pertaining to Multiplatform games, Watch_Dogs, AC IV, Dues Ex Human Revolution Directors Cut, Splinter Cell Blacklist and others are coming to the platform.
In the end though NONE of those games will sell a Wii U as well as Mario 3D World, Wind Waker, Donkey Kong and the core Nintendo line up because Mario, Zelda and DK are brands that casual gamers recognize and like.
@galetyler I'm just pointing out that while we like this video better, Nintendo wont be making any new ground by advertising to our sensibilities. Its the people that aren't buying the console they need to concentrate on right now. People who like Wii Fit and Wii Play. Those are the customers that aren't buying now... personally I think Nintendo should write off the casual market for the first half of the systems life. Casuals usually don't buy consoles until they come down in price... but a few casual titles a year should be plenty for these gamers.
from core Nintendo fans, the only thing I see them saying is "When Nintendo releases _____ I'll buy a Wii U day one". These people already know what games are coming out and when. Dropping 50 million on advertising to people who already know its coming seems like a wasted endeavor. I rather Nintendo spend that on developing another few Wii U titles.
Bayonetta: no one said you could touch!
Me: but.. its got a touch pad and what has xone has and ps4 has just garbage games lol
@MarioMario @djepic209 @ScorpionMG
What exactly is wrong with Mario Party being a personal system seller to someone? Not everyone has to insta-favor the usual, bigger series you know...
Although it isn't a 'system seller' to me personally either, I would take it over the likes of Mario Kart or NSMB, which I'm sure you'd argue are.
This Nintendo UK advert was amazing, the other one (with Rufus Hound) was crap!
There is a lot of win in store for my Wii U. I can't wait for some of these to be released.
@PachterKid: Platinum Games is not a third party?
@raith
0_0 I know. Your avatar reminds me of some potential for a Pandora's Tower or Last Story follow-up. Maybe a long shot, but it would be AWESOME. We're already getting a Xenoblade follow-up, so why not?
@MarioMario
lol... He's trolling, he's gotta be.
@ R_Champ
Thanks! I have yet to play Last Story, but Pandora's Tower is my favorite new IP (alongside Xenoblade) this generation. I absolutely love the theme, music and art style. Sure it has it's flaws but I sincerely hope Nintendo invests in this franchise because it has room for improvement and great potential.
@Pachterkid
Um, of course Nintendo's games will sell the system. How do you think they've been selling every other system they've made for the last 20 years? I have news for ya- Wii U isn't the first Nintendo console to have little 3rd party support. In fact, Wii U has had MORE meaningful, AAA 3rd party support in its first year than N64, Gamecube, Wii, GBA, DS or 3DS had their entire lifespans.
Lol, what, you thought all Nintendo's past consoles were successful because of 3rd parties? Hahaha, that's a good one.
@Cohort Too boring and predictable for ya?
@DarkKirby
You said you purchased New Super Mario Bros U, but was disappointed because it was yet another sidescrolling Mario game. Um, so why did you buy it in the first place if you don't like sidescrolling Mario games?
And "yet another" is hardly the words to describe NSMBU. For over 15 years, there wasn't a single sidescrolling Mario game. Then they made one for Wii and DS, FINALLY, after all those years. And then new consoles came out- 3DS and Wii U. New consoles mean they had to make new sidescrolling Mario games, one per console per generation. That's not a lot. That's ONE sidescrolling Mario game per console every 6 years. So how can you say "yet another" as if they're making one every year like Call of Duty or something? And for the record, NSMBU was spectacular- true masterpiece imo.
And you don't want Wonderful 101, the most epic looking awesome game I've seen in the last 5 years? Um, ok. And you don't want Pikmin 3, a game which has no equal, and is easily the funnest game I've actually played in the last 5 years? Ok. And you're not satisfied with Windwaker simply because it's not a "new release", knowing the new one is in development? Ok, fine. And Mario 3D World DOES NOT have a fixed camera. The second analogue controls, you guessed it, the camera. But you're probably still not happy with it huh. And what about the masterpiece that is Sonic Lost World- the best looking Sonic game since the Genesis that could easily rival Mario Galaxy? Despite the fact you want a 3D Mario and this game looks a lot like the last great 3D Mario, you're not interested, right? And DKC Tropical Freeze doesn't interest you because it's not in 3D? Even though Returns was hailed as one of the finest games on the Wii and Tropical Freeze looks like a system selling gem? Right. And because Bayonetta 2, Monolith Soft's X, Smash Bros 4, Mario Kart 8, and SMT x Fire Emblem don't come out til next year, you're not happy with those games either? You DO realize next year is only a few months away, don't you?
Idk, maybe you're just allergic to good games.
Wow oversexed mature games! Not really impressed by the lame “no one said you could touch!” and the unambiguous pose at 3:16… I wish back “the good old” Nintendo with Samus and Birdo
@Nintendojuenger
That game is Bayonetta 2, a sequal to the original Bayonetta on PS3/360. It was created by Hideki Kamiya (genius behind Okami, Viewtiful Joe, Devil May Cry) and developed by Platinum Games (same guys as Wonderful 101). It's not the usual type of game on a Nintendo console, but it's going to be a fantastic game and exclusive to Wii U. A lot of Bayonetta fans were outraged when they heard the sequel was Wii U exclusive.
@Doma Quite the opposite, infact Nintendo need more of these teasers, I genuinely forgot about some of those games due to the 2014 release dates.
Anyone recently got the Wii U because of this epic commercial?
That was EPIC!!
@JohniePizzapies oh dang I didn't know The Last of Us was available for Wii. I thought it was just ps3.
@Hunter-D Some commercials have multiple parts, that show between the individual commercial breaks in a show. I think this'd be good like that, broken up into parts like that.
Sorry if this is a bit off-topic, but is the Sonic Lost World Deadly Six Edition a replacement of some boss fights, or are the original boss fights still in the game?
Thanks in advance
It just fails to include ZombiU, that amazing survival horror game that came bundled with my Wii U... And the could also include the difference with multiplatform games that are actually better -yes there are quite a few- on Wii U. Still, lovely trailer. Hope it can educate the ignorant masses.
Still no sign of the white Wii U Premium...once that's out, I'll finally be able to sink my jaws into some of these awesome titles. Make it happen, Nintendo!
@Funny_Moblin It's a bonus level with bonus bosses.
Completely optional.
@mike_intv
In Australia you are lucky to see any advertising for nintendo wii u be it on tv or In a paper.
@Pachterkid He's gotta be trolling! Nobodies' that stupid! (Although I've been wrong before...)
@Chriiis like I said there is Wii party U, which is basically the same thing
Wow nice trailer, they have to show this on Tv commercials lol or on youtube commercials adds
3:16 Yes !
I just wanna know one thing.......
Where's dat new 3D World footage!!!???
Project X looks amazing.
WOW.... this screams amazing we need more trailers like this O_O or for more ppl to share this trailer so that ppl can see the wii u is worth it and capable of good games
What I think Nintendo needs is a trailer like this that also has all the big third party titles too, alongside all these exclusives. You know; Call of Duty: Ghosts, Watch Dogs, Rayman Legends, Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag, Batman: Arkham Origins etc...
I think what Nintendo needs to do is sort of overwhelm people in a way, blow them out of the water, with how many big games there are coming to it's system and just showing only the exclusive titles isn't really achieving that for me.
Also, I think they really need to make these videos a bit more cinematic and exciting, like movie trailers or something.
People need to walk away from these video going "HOLLY F*CK! I didn't know there were so many amazing huge games coming to Wii U. I need to get me one of those now!".
That's just not happening at the moment for me.
@jpfan1989
I assumed he meant The Last Story. And he was wrong about it being third party. It was only published by a third party in NA. It was developed by a third party house, but Nintendo owns the IP, had huge amounts of input into its creation, funded it, and the CEO of Nintendo is the game's executive producer. It doesn't get much more first party than that.
And now that I think of it, Pandora's tower is actually co-developed by Nintendo, so it's first party game too. I guess geometry wars is the only 3rd party game he has for the wii.
Good selection indeed, but the one thing really missing from this trailer is a big Zelda/Mario game. I'm talking about a game with visuals to put the likes of Galaxy and Twilight Princess in the dust. It's what they call a killer app...
Brought tears to my eyes. Indeed, "the games are coming." Thanks UK. Thanks for nothing NoA.
@SirMario Seriously? THAT'S the reason you're not buying Wii U? No offense to you or the Mario Party series, but Mario Kart is 10 times better. And there is bound to be a Mario Party on Wii U at some point. The company's working on the 3DS version at the moment, so they'll probably start Mario Party 10 once the 3DS one is finished.
@Kirk Well, there WAS the 3rd party games sizzle reel from E3.
@Pachterkid Name one third party game that has been a Nintendo system seller in the past 10 years. That's right, there isn't one. People don't buy Nintendo consoles for the third party support...they get them to play Nintendo's IPs, which, the purpose of this video was to show off the IPs. That doesn't mean there aren't any 3rd party games, in fact, watch this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHMJXy6lSHo
Oh yes, there aren't ANY 3rd party games.
FINALLY the ad people got their head out of where the sun don't shine and they put out some good ads that show what this thing can do and what it's offering!!
All they need to do now is to just take that ad make worldwide and put on TVs, all social media and the Wii U will be out of this hole faster then the 3DS when it was in it.
Nintendo should cut this down and put it on TV. Most people in the UK don't even know what a Wii U is!
@hwrose379
Well now they should release and all-in-one super trailer and really jazz it up.
@SirMario well, a new Mario Party is due to release in the holidays season; a 3DS version, though.
At first I regretted buying a Wii U but E3 and now this trailer made me change my mind
@DarkKriby: A fixed camera angle =/= 3D? Weird, I thought a game being 3D was determined upon the ability to walk across the Z-axis....
Also, it's not exactly fixed, the ability to move the camera has been demonstrated before.
mm Im only getting the last 3 games in the video, Im not really interesting in the other ones since these look too childish to me.
It's near.
I only wish they hadn't shown both Super Mario Bros U and Super Luigi Bros U separately. Nevertheless this was awesome!
