I don’t understand the question of is it more of the same? It’s a metroidvania, did people complain when we got 3 game boy advance castlevanias? 3 ds castlevanias? Is Metroid dread that much different from the 3ds Metroid? Anyways, I played for 30 minutes on switch 2 over break and it is excellent so far

@Rijzebrew Funny how people either don’t know, or forget how expensive Super Nintendo games were and some NES games, I remember as a kid we had to order through a retailer dragon warrior 2 and paid almost 90 bucks for it.

As an upgrade an 8, as a standalone game/if this was its first release a 10. At first I thought 20 bucks was steep, but Ps5 upgrades used to cost 10, so 10 bucks for a smaller expansion plus a 10 dollar next gen upgrade isn’t that bad

Soul Calibur 2 is one of the most timeless fighting games ever made. Few games like Street fighter 2 have ever been as mainstream and beloved as Soul Calibur was. It is grossly underrated in this list in my opinion.

I wonder if the same people in the US that put Bidens face on gas pumps saying “I did that” will go around putting the same stickers with Trump on them and plaster it on store shelves?

Switch 2 camera….this console generations Xbox kinect. At least it isn’t bundled with the console, but that thing is gonna go over about as well as a virtual boy.

Sounds amazing if it ends up being true. Soul Caliber 1&2 are fighting game masterpieces. I wouldn’t hold my breath on Link showing up again though.

@Paraka so using that line of thought…Cell phone addiction cuts down on productivity too, so we should make cell phones illegal across the board? My point is that you probably have policies in place for both cell phone and drug usage while at work. If you are in violation of those policies you will be reprimanded accordingly. People should be able to make their own decisions and then deal with the consequences. As a business that’s all you can do. If you choose to use your phone or drugs at work, you may lose your job. Going to jail for doing it on your free time doesn’t help anyone.

@Paraka I would say this: If I were someone who enjoys weed, why would I work for a place that tells me what I can and can’t do when I’m not at work? As long as I don’t come to the job high there shouldn’t be an issue, but random drug tests make it an issue of privacy. The only reason why employers take an issue is because if I get hurt and fail a test, then they don’t have to pay for anything.

It’s good to see humans still learn from the past. Because if there is one thing we know, if a law doesn’t deter people from something, a cartoon character definitely will. We all know since Smokey the Bear came around forest fires are a thing of the past.

What a great idea! Maybe when Metroid prime 4 finally releases, they will release an exclusive collectible controller that has a special Metroid button. That button when pressed will unlock Mother Brain at the final part of the game to give you the “real ending.” Everyone else will have to replay the boss fights of Ridley and Kraid gauntlet style. After beating the duo, a disheveled and broken Samus crawls back to her ship as the timer crosses zero, her armor falls apart, she mutters a line for the first time in history “I guess I shouldn’t have skimped on the accessories!” The planet explodes. Zinger.

Well, Microsoft is not shy about buying big name companies out like Bethesda, and I think their interest in Nintendo is no secret. That being said, maybe they just want to keep that positive relationship going because in the event Nintendo wants to sell in the future, old buddy Microsoft wants the first crack. Just planting some seeds in my opinion.

No neverwinter nights on the list? I thought it’s out in December? That and the assassins creed collection are what I’m looking forward to but going to wait and see how well they port black flag. I read assassins 3 didn’t turn out well on switch.

As someone who grew up when arcades were a thing, I think what they mean by the difficulty is ramped up is this: Will cheaply kill you at random points and it will infuriate you. But you are so close so just put another quarter in please.

@Kobeskillz that’s kind of where I’m at with it. August becomes November, November becomes 2020. It sucks because I’ve been holding off playing it until it’s fixed because after playing it for several hours it’s easy to tell it’s not polished. At least ori came out today. Sounds like they can port an Xbox one game to switch at least.

Well if it’s not getting fixed until November, the least they could do is give switch players the dlc for free or heavily discounted. If they needed that much time to fix it they should have never released it in the first place.

I love old arcade racers and since nostalgia is the flavor of this console generation, I wish ea would resurrect the old rumble racing game.

Sweet! Loved this one and will definitely get it on switch. With this Microsoft/ Nintendo partnership working well, maybe there will be a banjo kazooie remaster in the future?

Well if any of the scenes didn’t make the final cut of that fantastic piece of cinema they are bound to be pure gold.

I’m all about making games real to life but if this is just me unplugging a computer or restarting a router it’s gonna get repetitive fast. Since that seems to fix 99 percent of my computer problems lol.

There was a time several years ago when I was wanting more Metroidvanias but now there is a surplus. Glad this is a trend as there have been some truly great ones lately and the shantae series has been consistently good to great. I’ll definitely be picking this up.

@LinktotheFuture GameStop for me as well. I guess they got em in on Friday. I heard Nintendo is telling them to be secret about it because they want to get rid of the old ones first, so unless you specifically ask for a new v2 they will give you the old model. So any unsuspecting/ unknowing consumer will get the older model.

@SKTTR hard to tell right now. My old joy cons were so worn in these new ones feel nice and snappy but I don’t know if it’s just because they are new lol.

The one thing I didn’t realize is even if you log into your old account, when you put your sd card in it makes you format it for the new system. I thought I would be able to just put it in and play. So I had to redownload all of my games. The only setback to getting the new one.

@Joker13z I did the same thing and traded my old one in. I got 225 so I basically paid 75. I was needing new joy cons anyway so it was a no brainer.

Well it’s the same old story. Nintendo innovates and the rest of the industry follows. Rumble, control sticks, portable gaming, motion controls and the list goes on. The only thing they can never copy well are the games though. The big n is still the best first party developer/publisher out there.

I did the same thing to my switch when Mario tennis aces came out. I guess I just really love Wimbledon.

Budget services get budget features. Premium services get premium features.

@carmudgeon The reason why people like myself want them on there so bad is that you can’t even buy them. So the only way we are going to get them is through the online service which is supposed to add online play to the retro games as well. But yes, they should add a lot of online features that should be standard by now but once again, it’s Nintendo.

@GrailUK Nah, they have to sit on it because they are Nintendo and if they didn’t make at least one mind scratching decision per console they wouldn’t be Nintendo.

@DannyBoi I would agree with this but the switch online service is significantly cheaper. If they raise the price to match the competition, then yes we should get free games. I would be okay with switch online if they were releasing a steady flow of retro games. But all we have are nes games that haven’t aged as well as other consoles.

It’s been over two years since the switch released. So honestly if you want to make switch online better put the &&& &&&& snes games up already.

If only Nintendo would bring back the ken Griffey baseball games from the snes. Those were pretty fun for arcade style sports. Mario sluggers was also fun on GameCube.

I bought a yoke grip for handheld and it is a life changer. Best switch accessory I’ve used hands down.

Maybe Maury Povich will start doing this for his show. If you want to find out if “you are not the father,” you must first beat a specially designed Mario maker level revealing your fate.

I’m sure since it’s 40 bucks they didn’t want to pay for the cartridge. If it was a 60 dollar game it probably would have one . I’ll just wait for it to go on sale.
