Re: Switch OLED Success "Could Set A Precedent For Charging More Across The Industry", Analyst Warns

Aiodensghost

@Ghost_of_Hasashi here is the thing though... people (like me) who buy them are looking for novel gaming experiences. The Switch was a novelty for like the first few weeks I had it, now it's kinda the Swiss Army knife of consoles to me. Sure, it's not as powerful, but when you put yourself in a Swiss Army knife position your likely to see a lot more use (sadly I think this is what the PS Vita tried to do and it flopped, almost like it and the Wii U where Switch prototypes from 2 different companies).

That said I'm gonna say this... the Vita is still good, as there are indies I like playing on it that haven't even reached the Switch yet. It's actually a shame that they're locked to a rather niche system to begin with

Re: Switch OLED Success "Could Set A Precedent For Charging More Across The Industry", Analyst Warns

@BloodNinja frankly I can't wait for the Steam Deck either. Portable Java Minecraft? Portable Surge 1 and 2? Portable Sekiro, Borderlands 3, Devil Daggers and a better Portable version of NEO Scavenger? And the icing on the cake? The PC updates to Risk of Rain 2. Portable PC gaming at the same amount of money I paid for my PS4 Pro... it'd be insane NOT to get one. The only question is what is the maximum storage capacity of a microSD card it will support. I plan to get a 64GB NAND, but if I can use up to 2TB then it's a bit more future proof than the Switch is unless Nintendo pulls out all the stops and pulls a GameCube

Re: Talking Point: Why Metroid Dread Will Be Worth $60

Aiodensghost

I've been a fan since I played Zero Mission on my GBA as a kid. OF COURSE ILL PAY $60 FOR THE NEW METROID, JUST LIKE I BOUGHT BREATH OF THE WILD TWICE, WHICH RESULTED IN $120! If I love it I'll buy it multiple times across multiple systems to support the developer. End of story. The more cash a developer gets the more content they can make.

Re: Epic Apparently Wanted First-Party Exclusives From Nintendo, Microsoft And Sony On Its Digital Storefront

Aiodensghost

Epic can go do the anatomically impossible if they think they'll get Nintendo to just let them publish their games on PC.

Sony I can see happening, but Epic would need to make their storefront and launcher on-par with Steam before I'd actually spend money to buy a game. As it stands Epic Launcher is weak when it comes to a friend's list and chat service, let alone the ability to gift people other games. These issues alone prevent me from buying the PC version of Kingdom Hearts for my sister, and would keep me from buying ANY game that becomes exclusive to the service. Another thing is that Steam serves as a launcher for ALL the games on my computer, even if I didn't buy it from Steam. Epic Launcher cannot do that

Re: Atlus Says Persona 5 Scramble's Sales Exceeded Its Expectations

@Sakaixx the only SMT game to come to PS was SMT Nocturne (Lucifer's Call in Europe) and personally I'd like to see a dual release of the series on PS/Switch. I'd also like to see SMT on Xbox because then I could introduce my father to the series (but Atlus doesnt release many of their games, if any, on Xbox).

Re: Neon Abyss

Aiodensghost

Cant wait... I'll be watching for the release to go alongside Wizard of Legend, Dead Cells, Risk of Rain 1 and 2 and Binding of Isaac!!

Re: What Comes After Switch? Nintendo Discusses Plans For Future Game Consoles

Aiodensghost

Personally I love my Switch. I mostly play handheld and tabletop but the option to put it on the TV is great for when I'm watching Hulu of YouTube. Personally I'd like for the next system to keep the hybrid nature and detachable controllers, but have the detachable controllers not suffer from disconnects and drift. Also to have a second screen for handheld play

Re: 3DS YouTube Service Ends In Japan This September

Aiodensghost

@Tantani yep! I watched the original Fullmetal Alchemist on my 3DS as a freshman in high school during my free time in class. I remember one teacher literally pulled up a chair and asked that I set the 3DS on the desk for him to be able to see better. Good times!

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend

Aiodensghost

@FX102A Indies, you say? Binding of Isaac is great, but if you want a great story and you have the Switch, hold out until they release Undertale for it. THAT GAME ALONE... that'll be the reason I sell my GameCube for the Switch right there!! Downwell is actually an indie, you can get it for cheap on mobile platforms or on Steam. The PSVita version comes with the PS4 version free, runs about $5. I'm still looking for new indies, personally. I'll keep you posted!

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend

Aiodensghost

@Fake-E-Lee Pixel Dungeon on iPhone is good, but get it on Android. You get it on Android, you can get the forks. Also, on iOS, it'll run you $3, vs. on Android it's free. Downwell will run you $3 either way, but its great!! I wish they ported it to the Nintendo 3DS (not limiting it to the New 3DS, but allowing it on the old 3DS as well, so then I can get it before I have to upgrade.)

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend

Aiodensghost

I happen to be playing Metal Slug's PS1 port, Bayonetta 1 on the Xbox One (possible, as you can play certain 360 games on the One,) Downwell (PC, PSVita, PS4, Mobile, I WISH IT WAS ON THE NINTENDO 3DS...) The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth on Xbox One, Terraria on 3DS, Minecraft on PC and Switch, Pokemon Emerald on my GBASP (wish they remade that one, too) Shovel Knight on 3DS, Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains on 3DS

Re: Rumour: Nintendo has Discontinued Production of Nintendo DS Cartridges Around the World

Aiodensghost

@Alundra-1998
GOD, I wish I had some of those!! You have a chunck of my childhood in there! I remember playing Crash Bandicoot when I was 4 on my older stepsisters' PS1! Regretablly, she sold it off with all of her games before I could buy it off of her and got a PS2. I got my PS2 when I was 10.

Like I said, I got FFVIII and IX. On the PS2 I managed to find FFX and FFXII (Collector's Edition [Complete with manuel, Bonus DVD, and the original tin-like case.]) As for the rest of my PS2 games, I managed to get Quake 3: Revolution, Need for Speed Carbon, Atari Antiology, Pinball Hall of Fame: Gotlieb Collection, GTA: San Andreas (NOTE: MY COPY HAS BEEN PATCHED, making its rating go up from Mature 17+ to Ao,) Thrill Kill (another Ao-rated game that I had the luck of finding one of the beta discs for on eBay. It's really a PS1 game.) There are a few that I can't name off of the top of my head, and honesty I doubt that since my little sister touched my PS2, I'll get most of my collection back, let alone the console itself.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo has Discontinued Production of Nintendo DS Cartridges Around the World

Aiodensghost

@Alundra-1998 I'm looking to get a disc version of the game, and to get Alundra 2 on disc as well. Because honestly, even though I have the digital, it might as well be like playing it on an emulator (cause lets face it: even though its from the PSN store, it's technacally emulation unless you play it off of the original disc. That and put it with the fact that I'm collecting PS1 games and it goes great!! So far, I managed to find hard copies of FFVIII and FFIX. Put my PS1 collection with my PS2 collection and I'll be even better, cause despite not having a PS1, I have a PS2 slim that I got when I was a kid still lying around, as well as a PS3 that I built out of parts of 3 PS3's their respective owners just wanted to chuck in the garbage. Alundra is a GREAT choice for PlayStation games and collectors alike, yet I have YET to see MetalJesus make note of it. So sad!)

Re: Rumour: Nintendo has Discontinued Production of Nintendo DS Cartridges Around the World

Thanks for the memories, my trusty 2004 Nintendo DS (R.I.P.)

N+
The World Ends With You
Namco Museum DS
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor
Dementium: The Ward
Dementium II
Every Pokemon game released on the original Nintendo DS
Chrono Trigger
The Final Fantasy games released for the DS
The invention of the RS card (I never owned one, but one of my friends did.)
The ability to continue playing my GBA games (Megaman: Battle Network Series, DOOM and DOOM II, Super Mario Advance, Legends of Zelda: Four Swords, Pokemon Emerald (I begged for an Emerald remake for the 3DS, cause Emerald is a tad more difficult than Ruby and Saphire,) the introduction of that one cartrage that allowed you to turn your GBA into an MP3 player (that was the best one out there in my opinion, and I used it a lot!))
The spawning of Download Play (may the legacy live on as gamers ruin friendships in Mario Party through Download Play )
The first ever Resident Evil, ported over to the DS
History Channels Great Empires: Rome
Civilization (I was surpised when I found out that they ported this game to the DS, none the less it's safe to assume I snatched a copy, considering I'm a Civilization fiend)
Kirby Mass Attack
Nintendogs (thank god for this, I'd never would've got my little sister to be quiet otherwise!!)

And countless more. Thank you for the memories, Nintendo!! I'll be looking for Nintendo DS games, then, just to get the ones from my childhood. Also, being able to turn my 3DS into an MP3/MP4 was genius!! I use my 3DS as an MP3 player, and it's great!

Just don't let the Nintendo DS line of systems fade away, make sure every gamer in the future at least knows about it!!

Re: GameCube Classic Luigi's Mansion Rises From The Grave On 3DS This Year

Aiodensghost

You guys begging for a Switch version is just agging me on to sell my GameCube!! I'd have to sell THAT as well as my 3DS, PS2, and PS3 in order to even get the Switch!! I'm glad they're putting it on the 3DS, cause now I'll finally get to play the original Luigi's Mansion!! I'll also have to tell my friend, thepokemonmaster360, because I owe her for her letting me have her copy of Pokemon X after she moved on to Omega Ruby. I still wish they remade Emerald for the 3DS, though. I'd rather have Theta Emerald than Omega Ruby or Alpha Saphire, just to get extra difficulty like in the GBA version of Emerald.

In fact, Nintendo, as a last hurah! to the Nintendo 3DS before it finally dies, and you pull it from store shelves, PLEASE, oh please make a Theta Emerald Pokemon game for the 3DS!! I'd love to go back to being a 5 year old and being aable to brag to my friends that I beat the most difficult version of a game!!

Re: Review: Terraria (3DS)

Aiodensghost

@sillygostly Major performance issues? They aren't so major if you start playing it on the original 3DS, in fact you kinda get used to it by now. But then I'm one of those people who don't care about lag as long as I'm not playing the game online or if the game I'm playing isn't a shooter. I HATED playing Resident Evil on the original 3DS for that reason! IDK, though. I'm looking into upgrading to the N2DSXL (I don't use the 3D function, it kills my system faster and hurts my eyes, which is salt in the wound when combined with myopia.)

Re: Review: Terraria (3DS)

Aiodensghost

I'm one of those people who STILL have the classic CTR-001 model of the Nintendo 3DS, and other than the system erroring out and having to restart once or twice while playing this, I honestly had no issue with it. I don't really stress having a game a 60 FPS (unless it's an online game or a shooter,) so not having the newest hardware isn't to big of a deal for me. The thing is though, this version of the game on the original 3DS is on-par with the PSVita version, and would be a better version to play for nomadic players (I don't know about you, but I don't want to haul my Xbox, PlayStation, Wii U, or PC around with me on my back, and I did that before in highschool for game club.) I guess what I'm trying to say is that this version is great on the original 3DS despite what they say in this review. This review is also outdated, in that now you hve 6 character slots and 6 world slots to play with (which is good, considering I introduced a 9 year old to the game and she got so hooked she started swiping my 3DS for days at a time on vacation to play the game.)

The downer to this version on the original 3DS, though, is that the control scheme will offer more challenges. Only having one analog can kill, and it gets worse if your hand cramps while battling the Wall of Flesh before Hardmode. Other than that, great version, if you don't mind people thinking your a little slower and don't really use the 3D feature (this game doesn't display in 3D, and even then, 3D kills your systems battery faster!!)
