You know, there haven't really been that many games on Switch that involve a maniacal, homicidal teddy bear slowly killing off teenagers. But wait... what's that? Danganronpa is coming to Switch? Oh, well, never mind then!
If you've always felt like Ace Attorney needed a lot more death, then Danganronpa is the game for you. You'll be trapped in a school with a bunch of other students, all of whom are the "best" at things, until one of you MYSTERIOUSLY DIES and you'll have to have a trial to figure out who did it. Rinse, and repeat.
Celebrating ten years of the series, Danganronpa: Decadence will bring four Danganronpa games to the Nintendo Switch later this year, so get ready to murder and be murdered. A lot.
The included games are Trigger Happy Havoc, Goodbye Despair, and Killing Harmony, as well as an expanded standalone Danganronpa board game, Ultimate Summer Camp. You can also buy these four games individually on the eShop, although Decadence will be available as a physical exclusive.

I’ve been dying to play the Danganronpa games for so long but I’ve been holding out for a Switch port so I’m super excited right now. The announcement that I’ve been hoping for more than anything.
I think I will be double dipping for these. It will be good to reexperience these stories.
@BenAV Like yourself I have been waiting for a port myself so it was a great announcement, just was not up for getting a playstation for them and I figured they would get a port at some point.
I told yall Danganronpa switch was happening after World Ends Club
What the hell?
I appreciate it for people who enjoy it, but I can't grasp the concept behind it.
I don't care that this is my third time buying these. BUYING THESE!
Excited for those who haven't played the series before.
For me, I'm not sure what to get. Physical with everything, just the expanded board game since it's new, or also V3 (even though it's the worst of them, it's also the biggest, and would save room on my Vita memory cards for other games to have perma-downloaded in case the PSN shop for Vita shuts down). I'm leaning towards the physical cart with all four. I really like the strategy of a physical collection or individual games on eShop. Hopefully other companies take notice and continue that practice.
Yay! Now I can keep my Third Game Special Edition sealed and get this instead!
THANK YOU BABY JESUS!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Wanted to get this on the PSP Vita. Never got around to it. Might give it a shot.
@Bizaster I've owned them all on Steam for ages and never really got around to it, but now I can FINALLY play them again! I played the first on Vita and loved it so muuuuch
To be fair, the third one is more of a light hearted board game so I wouldn't say that 4 murder mayhem games are releasing lol
Looks like I'll be double-dipping. Especially now that they're improving the board game thing from V3.
Now we just need Ultra Despair Girls to come over.
And the Zero Escape games.
@KateGray The sequels are so much better than the original, lol. You're in for a treat.
@Ralizah I won't lie, I put Junko on the article in the hopes that you'd see it 😅 I loved the first one, so I'm excited to see how much better the sequels are!
Also, agreed about Zero Escape 👀
I actually have to play Danganronpa now 😭
I am BEYOND excited for this
I have the games on Vita, but I’ll still buy this and maybe play V3 on Switch as I haven’t got to that one yet. I need to watch the Danganronpa 3 anime in preparation.
I rarely double dip but having all these on one cart is amazing. Such a good deal for those who haven’t played any of the series.
They are fantastic games and own the collection on vita. Now I don't know if I will pick it up as I already have handheld verisons of the games. Even if I really want to play summer camp I don't think it will be worth it.
@KateGray Mission accomplished!
I really thought these games were just never going to release on Switch, considering they even announced mobile ports before this collection. Glad I was wrong.
"If you've always felt like Ace Attorney needed a lot more death" on top of routinely interrogating, being counseled by and occasionally even trying the deceased... 😅 But jokes aside, it's awesome to see Danganronpa back on the portable market after a publishing rights juggle erased it from Vita store prior. I'm getting them all, including the double-dip on Trigger Happy Havoc. I could admittedly live with the mini-game remaining a mini-game (that status never prevented Birth by Sleep's incarnation of Fortune Street from dragging me in for hours on its own) if it meant freeing up a "slot" for Ultra Despair Girls instead, but hey. Hopefully we can get it sometime later, too.
One of the best series of games! The three of them are perfection. I am glad that they will be individual releases on the eshop so I can Pick up ultimate summer camp
Definitely buying these.
Though whether I should buy the one at a time is a decison I need to make.
FINALLY!!!!
I knew they’d port these after the phone ports. Next up, Vanillaware games and Persona please.
@Bizaster ahahahaha OH NOOOO
at least you saved money!
Was thinking of wanting of a collection when playing World's End Club, got my wish! Bonus game as well, poifect.
watched all the games, Pick em up.
One of the few game series I play on my Ps4 nowadays. Insta-buy for the Switch then
I may give them another shot. I mean, I kind of liked them, but despite the fact that I kind of liked the Vita as well, nothing on it really got past the point of "I kind of like what's going on". Switch is different. And I can't even really say why I would enjoy the same game with what I presume will be the same performance better on it than I would have on the Vita... It just happens to be the case with most games, I enjoy them best on Switch, and kind of only play on the Switch anymore, handheld only, but the regular model I got at launch.
This is the series that my daughter told me about. At the time it was exclusive to Sony systems but now that Nintendo has totally and completely conquered the whole continent of Asia with their Nintendo Switch console many developers feel as though they don't have a choice anymore when it comes to avoiding Nintendo systems. Now they most definitely realized they have to support Nintendo. I am so happy that this series is on the system.
This is my favourite reveal of the direct, can’t wait!
If I hadn't already played these games I'd be jumping on this straight away. Great series. (If you love games like Ace Attorney or Zero Escape it's really a no brainer to pick it up)
These games always looked so crazy and wacky, very happy they are coming to Switch cause I love a good murder mystery.
@KateGray It looks like Nintendo deleted and re-uploaded the trailer so the video embedded in the article is currently broken.
Very excited this series is coming to the Switch! Normally I can only play visual novels once but I've played the class trials from all 3 games countless times. They're just so entertaining. Will definitely buy this collection again on Switch. Already own them on PS4 and mobile but I'll gladly triple dip for this series.
Now we just need the Zero Escape games.
Yay!! Now I can get this for my cousin and not feel guilty about NOT getting her them and a PS Vita!!
This was good stuff as far as the Direct went. Definitely interested in nabbing these.
Who let Teddie write this article? That was a horrific bear pun.
@Cynas thanks for the heads up! I've had to replace a lot of broken links this morning!!
Do we know when the physical edition will be available to preorder?
I might try this someday but idk for sure
I have never played these before, but looking forward to it!! Hopefully I can get a physical copy in Australia.
@Ralizah I am new to the series. Looks like I am gonna have to start from scratch. So start from the beginning
