I read this earlier today at Siliconera. They actually provide a more in-depth quote of Reggie's that explains Nintendo's reasoning.
“But, even more importantly than that, the consumer has voted. Over 26 million consumers have bought a Wii. The consumer is saying, for them, the quality of the visual is not nearly as important as the overall entertainment, the overall value of that experience and that is really what has propelled us. In terms of what the future holds, we’ve gone on record to say the next step for Nintendo in terms of home consoles will not be simply to make it HD, but to add more and more capability and we’ll do that when we totally tapped out all of the experiences for the existing Wii and we are nowhere near doing that yet.”
Nothing for me, but that doesn't matter. I've got enough games to last me for quite awhile.
Only (at least) nine more weeks until the VC hits the big Three-Five-Oh! My guess is it'll be Final Fantasy II/IV. EDIT: Actually, now that I think about it, Kirby Super Star might have a slightly higher chance of being released, but I really have no idea.
Even though the only Sunsoft games I've ever played were Chameleon Twist and Batman (neither of which I have clear memories of), I'm rather anxious to see what else Sunsoft and Gaijin Works have in store for the VC. Also I'll definitly be picking up Blaster Master in the future.
While the abilitly to save anywhere is definitely a plus (the one thing I hate about old-school Sonic games is the lack of a save feature), I wouldn't buy this. SMC is the only Sonic anthology I need.
It's great to hear that this site's becoming popular. Good work, Ant!
However, I'd like to let you know that when I try to open the MySims Camera review, the Power Up! screen displays on my monitor again. I'm not sure if it's something wrong on my end or NintendoLife's.
Great game indeed. I saw this in the "Latest Screenshots" list and my heart lept, but then I realized I wasn't in the VC section of NintendoLife. Ah well.
Sounds awesome! Here are some games that I'm curious about:
The 7th Saga Bubsy in: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind Demon's Crest E.V.O.: Search for Eden Eye of the Beholder Illusion of Gaia Jurassic Park Lemmings J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, Vol. I Lufia & the Fortress of Doom Mario Is Missing! Mario's Time Machine Mortal Kombat Plok Power Instinct Q*bert 3 The Ren & Stimpy Show: Veediots! Revolution X Robotrek Shaq Fu Spider-Man: The Animated Series Tin Star Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?
I've been wanting to try out the Kunio-kun series for awhile now, but I think I'll start with River City Ransom first. I'll keep this game on my potential purchase list for now.

Re: Monster Hunter and Classic Controller Pro Bundle Coming To North America
@SS IV I was actually talking about how I don't need a Classic Controller to play VC titles, not MH3. Sorry I wasn't clear on that.
Re: Monster Hunter and Classic Controller Pro Bundle Coming To North America
I'm perfectly fine with using the GC controller, so I'm undecided on whether I'll buy the bundle or just the game.
Re: Phoenix Wright May Still Appear in Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom
If the Samurai Pizza Cats are ever included, this game will become a must buy.
Re: Nintendo Download: 15 January 2010 (Europe)
Sad. I really hope it picks up for you guys soon.

I might get Phoenix Wright someday since I don't own a DS.

Re: Castlevania: Rondo of Blood Getting Long Overdue Western Release
I'm more interested in Ironclad than Castlevania, but I'll undoubtedly be purchasing both in the future. Great news.
Re: Nintendo Download: 25 December 2009 (EU)
Not cool.
Re: Mother 3
Incredible game. In a lot of ways it's much better than EarthBound (although I still love it).
Re: Nintendo Download: 21 December 2009 (North America)
Hooray for SSB! I'll probably be picking it up around Christmas if I get another Wii Points card. Great update.
Re: Nintendo Download: 14 December 2009 (North America)
Blaster Master is fantastic, even though I'm still familiarizing myself with the controls.
Re: Sunsoft To Release Telenet Titles On Virtual Console
"How about all of them?"
Including Golden Axe and Valis X?
Re: Sunsoft To Release Telenet Titles On Virtual Console
Victor Ireland has also set up a thread over at the Sunsoft forums asking people which Sunsoft/Telenet games they want to see on the VC.
Re: Blaster Master
Blaster Master will be out in NA on December 14th.

Re: Virtual Console Blaster Master To Spearhead Sunsoft Revival

Decent week. Nothing I'd buy, though.

Re: Voice of Mario Wanted To Voice Link
Thank God.
Re: Nintendo Download: 10-11 November 2009 (Japan)
Aside from the fact that Namco have yet to show us some love since the launch of the VCA, I can't say I'm jealous of Japan this week.
Re: Final Fight 3
This game has been rated by the ESRB for the Wii as well.
Re: Iwata: WiiWare Demos Are Coming
Even though it probably won't happen, I'd love it if there were demos for VC games as well. This is great news either way, though.
Re: Nintendo Download: Fights, Shooters, Sparkles, Vikings, Dragons, Carnivals, Escapes and Card Games (US)
Definitely wasn't expecting this. At all. Good job, Nintendo.
Re: Frobot WiiWare Music Video
Re: Nintendo Download: Pinballs, Fights and Gravity

That fish looks strikingly like Birdo.

Re: Nintendo Download: Contra Rebirth, 6 in 1 Dictionary (EU)
whistles
Contra is a great game and all, but man...
Re: R-Type
I think so too. If you look at this screen from the TG-16 version:
This boss is exactly the same as the one at the end of the video.
Re: That Earthworm Jim WiiWare Game? Yep, A Remake
Eh, I'll just buy the original.
Re: Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap
Before reading the overview I had a feeling that this game was related to Dragon's Curse.
Now this and Wonder Boy in Monster World are the only SMS Wonder Boy titles left to be released.
Re: Nintendo Download: Pilotwings, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Pop Plus, Arkanoid and Bit.Trip (EU)
Re: Mario vs. Donkey Kong and Pilotwings Out in Europe This Friday
Well, I can't say I'm excited, but it's great that it's finally being released soon.
Re: Wii "Most Reliable Console of This Generation"
The only system I've had die on me is the GameCube (couldn't read the discs anymore). Other than that, no other problems.
Re: Earthworm Jim Squiggling Onto WiiWare
I just hope Interplay has some hand in creating the game.
Re: Nintendo Download: Ninjas, Picture Books, Slot Cars, Sudoku and Guitars (US)
I'll just continue trying to complete Mischief Makers 100% and finish up Secret of Mana while I wait for Cave Story/SSB.
Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Game Boy)
I loved this game, although the last temple stumped me and I haven't picked it up since then. I should play it again someday.
