Re: YouTube Stars Aren't Happy With Nintendo's Revenue-Sharing 'Creators Program'

@PlywoodStick if that's the case I wonder why it seems only Nintendo is having this problem and no other company has.

@Discostew That's a little unfair, its more of both where people enjoy the channel will see them play a Nintendo game and want the game which is good advertsing for Nintendo and Nintendo fans will look for videos of that game and might become fans of their channel. Those commercials working out for Nintendo recently? Look I get what your saying, but how do you think Minecraft got so popular.

@reasonnotwhine You confuse me, the whole EVO thing did cause an uproar, but are you saying we shouldn't cause an uproar now?

Re: YouTube Stars Aren't Happy With Nintendo's Revenue-Sharing 'Creators Program'

64supermario

@reasonnotwhine But WE HAVE TO VOICE OUR CRITICISM we shouldn't just stand back and stay everything will work out dandy, Nintendo needs to know that people have problems with this and what those problems are. If we don't they might just think they are doing fine and release the beta as is in a worst case sense scenario. Tell Nintendo there's problem, so they can fix it because as it is now...its awful.

Re: YouTube Stars Aren't Happy With Nintendo's Revenue-Sharing 'Creators Program'

64supermario

@reasonnotwhine I hope they don't. The fact is they don't as of right now and that is at its core a better policy that Nintendo has in place. I'm going to copy and paste my rant from another forum that I already did:

No other company is as aggressive in marking content, Nintendo has marked reviews and parodies on older videos, Nintendo will not allow you to use videos if you use OBJECTIONABLE behavior (super abstract), it takes 2 -3 DAYS to get your video approved by Nintendo when others will just do a work around and get up videos of new games on the day of its release if they work hard enough, their list is laughable, and their take on it makes it sound like you can only post positive Nintendo things which just seems down right horrible.

Nintendo is not a white knight on this issue, they are farthest from being a hero of any sort. Do not be an apologist on this issue, call them out on their BS so that they can improve the system and you don't just live in lala land where everything is okay. Nintendo has the right to own all their content, sure. But I'm not throwing them a freaking parade because they put this up when everyone else provides something much better by comparison...approval. Nintendo had some good ideas in here and I wish that it had been something better but as it stands it fall 100 miles short and needs to be reworked in its beta stages. Call them out on it, don't just sit there and pretend its okay and if you don't really understand how YouTube works than stay out of the issue, its the equivalent of when the government started to get involved in the internet while sticking to their unknowledgeable ways of how its works and the people on it work. It frustrates me to no end, I want more LPers, parody makers, reviewers to do stuff with Nintendo but they keep screwing it up and when they finally get close to doing something right with it they screw it up again.

Re: YouTube Stars Aren't Happy With Nintendo's Revenue-Sharing 'Creators Program'

Some of you guys really don't freaking get it.

NINTENDO is one of the only company that is as hard hitting on this issue, most companies and independents allow gamers to have all the revenue, do you really think people on the more famous spectrum are going to be rushing to this.

Also I love to Nintendo to death and always will, but they are not errorless. All the other companies allow LPers to go on or pretend it doesn't exist, Nintendo is not a hero on this issue and aren't even the good guys. They brought some interesting to the table on this, but they misfired in several directions.

Re: Video: YouTube's Gaming Historian Takes Offense At One Element Of Mario's Game Boy Past

64supermario

Actually I'm half Mexican and I found the sombreo wearing Mario to be kind of hilarious and adorable. My stance on that is the same as the whole speedy Gonzales thing as long as the character charming and they are not belittling my race and family I'm fine with it, actually most of that half of my family is like that too. Stereotypes aren't necessarily racist if they are done in fun and charming way, there are things that really grind our gears but for the most part its when ACTUAL people on the news are insulting us and being genuine about it.

Re: Best Buy Cancellations of Majora's Mask 3D New Nintendo 3DS Bundles Affects More Customers

64supermario

I just made a video about this same issue weird haha. But yeah for those who just want a 3DS XL the $50 towards a new 3DS is a great offer....but for those like me who want the Majora's Mask version because I love Majora's Mask it would have left an extremely bitter taste. I just checked mine and I'm still in the clear so I'm happy right now, but I've never been so unsure about something I've preordered in my entire life.

Re: Ninja Pig Studios Accused Of Stealing Pixel Art For Forthcoming Wii U Release Jumpy Cat

64supermario

@Statusphere Shenanigans, the fact that he said that in the first place is calling the kettle black. This is the same person that went into the NintendoLife Review comment section and attacked NintendoLife for their low score and providing false allegations. There is no way anyone should give respect to this guy. This "game" was also going to come out next week, so the quickest most efficient way to get it off the store would be ideal.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Wise to Embrace The Vital YouTube Audience

64supermario

Well VGA the Let's Players that I watch do the occasional Nintendo titles but don't do it too often because they can't make a profit off their commentary (that is their livelihood). It really does cause YouTubers to just raise their nose to Nintendo when they could be getting more of them to actually play some Nintendo games. Hell Nintendo even claimed a parody because it used a clip of the original Super Mario Bros music, you can't do that, that is unacceptable.

Re: Review: Meme Run (Wii U eShop)

64supermario

@pokemonface12 There is a lot of good stuff on the eShop true...but this is not even close to being one of them, the F2P game is much better than this $5 waste of time and money.

Re: Professional Super Smash Bros. Melee Player Talks Smash 4

64supermario

i don't think that I'll ever understand the hate for competitive Smash, let me make this clear: Competitive Smash the concept, not the players.

That's like me hating professional baseball because its too serious, they should just play catch like me in the backyard.

The beauty of Smash is that it can be both, don't rag on each other just cause you have a fixed perception on what it should be.

Re: Nintendo Download: 11th December (Europe)

64supermario

@andyg1971 Please the "Nothing for me this week" bar is always sadly huge, can't afford to get a game every week you know. I actually don't even account for that I just vote for a game that I think I will purchase, even if I don't get it this week, like for example this week I vote for Phoenix Wright, I'm not getting it this week, but I'm sure I'll get it eventually. I also don't see it being that bad of a VC game (Granted yes there should be more than just one game a week) but Metroid Prime Pinball was awesome this one could be too.

Re: Koei Tecmo Europe All But Confirms Fatal Frame Wii U As Japan-Only

64supermario

@Jazzer94 ...I don't know where our comments disappeared too, but whatevs.

Niche? Sure of course, but you know what...you can't tell me to my face that you thought Tomadachi would have sold like it did without the marketing Nintendo pulled off. I'm not saying it would sell like hot cakes like Tomadachi did, but it COULD have sold some pretty solid numbers if Nintendo marketed it correctly to that particular market, in this case the "Niche" market, it also could have made people aware of the game who would otherwise never would have glanced at it. Marketing is the ultimate tool in the sales wars.

Re: Koei Tecmo Europe All But Confirms Fatal Frame Wii U As Japan-Only

64supermario

Some of you are acting ridiculous and childish, the person that sent out the tweet clearly just said he didn't know. He never said 'NEVER COMING TO WII U, SO SAD TOO BAD' you guys make it sound like that's 100% confirmation.

And even if does officially get confirmed to not be coming, we could always pull a project Rainfall.

Edit: Actually I think a good number of blame has to go to the NintendLife writer...come on guys, this seriously counts as a confirmation?

Re: Review: The Letter (Wii U eShop)

64supermario

Called that score. As the game stands right now, its worse than that one game about recycling, and the most recent update that is coming out doesn't fix ANY of the problems with the game, it just makes the graphics a little nicer for the loading screen and title card, adds a useless save function to an extremely short game and adds a few more useless objects to the huge overworld. I guess he did add a level, but once again, that's not what's holding this game back.

Re: The Letter

64supermario

My brother picked this up, just cause it seemed interesting....one of the worst games ever. This is the kinda game I'd make people play to show them what not to do in game development.

Re: Nintendo Japan Announces Plans for YouTube Affiliate Program

64supermario

@Unca_Lz If LPers can't make money of recording games, then why should the bigger companies with money make revenue from it too. Its either everyone gets a little or nobody gets it. You can say they are using Nintendo's footage all you want, but Nintendo making money of THEIR videos is in the wrong too then.

Re: Nintendo Japan Announces Plans for YouTube Affiliate Program

64supermario

@BLPs I support the industry when I BUT THEIR GAMES. What I do with it afterwards shouldn't be anyone else's decision. Video games are not like movies, well most anyways, I sure as hell won't get the same feeling as playing Mario Kart as someone watching it. Letting LPers make videos of your game is great advertisement and putting together videos as a hobby is nice, but some people do do it for their livelihood and I honestly see nothing wrong with it. If roles were reversed would you say the same thing. I think they DO have the right to make some money of this, putting together videos isn't always as easy as it seems.

Re: Nintendo Japan Announces Plans for YouTube Affiliate Program

64supermario

For those saying people shouldn't make money off it....really? You know some people put entire production values into this kind of thing and have to do a poopoodoodoocacapooedoople load of work, they work late nights too you know. Also the fact that people like Sony and Activision are supporting show that they aren't losing money from letting people do this. Nintendo needs to be embracing not scorn the LPers.
