Earlier this month during the ''Kinda Funny Video Game Showcase' on Twitch, Limited Run announced a physical edition for Celeste would be available to pre-order from 1st January onward.
In the latest update, Limited Run has now revealed the Collector's Edition, which will set Celeste fans back $79.99. This edition contains the game, a strawberry plush, steel book case, poster, cassette soundtrack, sticker sheet, patch, postcard and strawberry pie recipe. Below is all of the information about when the physical edition will become available along with an image of all the goodies:
Along with the standard editions of @celeste_game starting their pre-order window next Tuesday, limited amounts of Collector's Editions will go on sale. The first batch goes up on our site January 1 at 10 am EST, with a smaller final batch going up at 6 pm EST that day.
The physical version of the game is expected to ship in February. Pre-orders for the game will also close on 1st February.
In a separate tweet, Limited Run Games also confirmed Iconoclasts will be receiving a physical release on 18th January next year. Take a look at the artwork below and stay tuned for more information about this release in the near future.
Will you be adding either of these games to your physical Switch library? Tell us below.

Great game... considering the physical version as a collector item... but not the Collector's Edition.
Got too much "Collectors Edition" stuff around my house, but will probably get the physical. Suprised you didnt cover that Limited Run is doing a physical for Iconoclasts on the 18 January in this post.
This is amazing. I do wish the soundtrack were vinyl and not cassette, but I love the art they chose for that tape anyways.
...I think I want to splurge and buy this.
I wish they'd release a reasonably priced, non-collectors edition. I have zero interest in paying four times the cost of the digital version for a bunch of stuff that would only collect dust. But I'd REALLY love a physical copy. Sigh.
@Bunkerneath Thanks, I've added this in.
@RoadieRunner If previous are anything to go by, normal physicals are $29.99 with $15 delivery to UK, therefore around $44.99 (around £35), then you never know when you might get it. They take your money, but I still have three games from them outstanding one from August (West of Loathing) and two from September (Yooka Laylee and Dust)
Great ideas for physical items in this kit. Postcard, patch for jacket... nice. Might pick up one of these items if they were sold separately but I'm real picky with collectibles. The physical game might be nice.
@imgrowinglegs I'm sure you have personal reasons for vinyl but that would be a terrible choice for this game!
Either way, the soundtrack is great and I still have it in regular rotation.
Damn! I really want this game in a physical version. Can I order from LRG and get it delivered to Sweden?
As far as collector's editions go, that's a really cool one. The plushie and stickers are really cute. Too expensive for me though (especially considering I already have the game) and it'll sell out instantly anyway.
Iconoclasts is also extremely great.
@Quarth Moste likely. I live in Norway and have ordered from them before.
@IHateTombs Even the standard version?
@Quarth LRGs Switch games standard versions tends to be up for preorder for two weeks.
@aaronsullivan Yeah, I guess my “personal reason” is that I usually listen to music digitally or on vinyl. I don’t even think I have a cassette player.
I do already have this soundtrack digitally though. Lena Raine rules.
@Quarth The site says "PREORDERS CLOSE ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 1ST BETWEEN 6PM AND 11:59PM EASTERN TIME"
This is for the standard physicals
@Bunkerneath @IHateTombs @tobibra Thanks guys!
This is so tempting but I still hate buying a game physically when I already bought it digitally because I didn't think it would actually release physically....
See you next Tuesday
I'll be picking this up as it is a game I might go back to a various times. I'll be getting Iconoclasts as well.
I really just want the poster and the steel book. I would go for the collectors edition of stuff but the wife is a traveling nurse so we need to pack light.
Why a cassette soundtrack?
Pretty tempted to get this for the strawberry pie recipe.
@NybroCymerej because in the game you collect cassettes through levels. It's a neat touch, actually
Would have bought if the soundtrack was on a CD. Now I'll just settle for the standard edition...
@SuperCharlie78 Fair enough, that's kinda cool. I am ignorant of this game yet, interested. Thanks.
Celeste no OST cd soundtrack why?
@Bunkerneath woah what? Have you spoken to them/got a refund?
@RoadieRunner it’s how they work. They take your money and then produce the products.
They did used to do held orders so you could order stuff and save on shipping but they stopped that with the last release.
Order these and you’ll get them Easter time. It’s always at least a few months if not more
@NybroCymerej in the game, you can collect cassette tapes which unlocks B-Sides of a chapter. these B-Sides are much more difficult to play through.
it's cool that they did this. so retro
I’ll probably order Celeste and Windjammers together.
Skipping Iconoclasts. I am only buying the best of the best. Too many indie games that fall in that “decent” category. Narrow it down to the top 5%
@tobibra The SJW stuff is what put me of from buying it too. Will be getting it through games with gold on Xbox so I might as well try it out when it's "free".
I like physical releases but I hate not being able to purchase it through a brick and mortar store. Axiom Verge I picked up at a Gamestop brand new in box collectors edition, so why not use a different publisher than limited run!
I wasn’t aware that Limited Run sold their games at retail stores, but I happened upon a display full of copies of Yooka Laylee the other day in Best Buy.
@thesilverbrick They sell some of them at Best Buy. So far it's been Golf Story and Yooka-Laylee, and the BB versions have different cover art as well. Not all LRG releases will be sold at BB, only the ones they choose to carry, and they buy limited stock as well, so once they're gone, they're gone forever.
I was specifically waiting for Iconoclasts on Switch, glad that's happening!
UPdate:
"every CE will now have a soundtrack download code emailed to you as well!"
If twitter feed is true then that is a good thing but the site LRG doesn't mention this though so I wonder.
Neat, but, when I can buy the game digitally for a quarter of the price AND not add to the clutter, I pick digital. Will this game ever go on sale for us tightwads?
$80 for a cheap download game, physical games are such a better deal!
what a ripoff screw limted run games
@SwitchForce Maybe play the game before you comment
@Rontanamo_Bay It's not like anyone is taking up a discussion with them or arguing against them. As long as people remain civil, let them have their reasons for not wanting to buy a game.
cart n box is all I need. but Im sure these will sell in record time. lrg also have danmaku for pre order on the 4th. great start to the year!
This game has been on my radar for a long time, being an avid fan of punishing 2D platformers, and a sucker for cool art styles! I will definitely try and pick up the collectors edition if I can!
Gotta spend this Xmas money on something before I use it for bills....😂
@boatie How rude 😉
I'd get the collector's edition if only for the game's OST on cassette, I just don't have the money for it right now which sucks
@AirElephant They aren't only making physical copies via the collector's edition! You'll be able to pre-order just a physical copy the same day the collector's edition goes on sale!
I like the cover art for Iconoclasts. I might have to preorder one.
@imgrowinglegs Well, a tape cassette is a horrible way to listen to the soundtrack, but it's Celeste's way. I think if I owned it, I'd just be happy knowing the audio is encoded on the tape, and probably never listen to it... well, maybe once.
@BlakeMorris if being a Troll is your past time then you have a sad life there. Maybe getting some sunshine might brighten your life perspective more.
Celeste is the free game on Xbox One in January with Gold. Hate to down Nintendo but if you’ve got both systems. You may want to wait a few days and get it for free.
@Claytonbob The people who buy these Limited Run releases generally do it because they like owning physical copies though. A free digital copy won’t change too many minds in this case.
That’s a sweet score for Xbox players though. Celeste rules.
My first LRG purchase was going to be Golf Story, but then the Best Buy deal happened, and since I have Gamer’s Club I bought it from them. So Celeste was going to be my first, but now I see Best Buy is getting it. Oh well, better price for me. LRG seems to be trying to convince people that you’re risking not getting the game if you wait for Best Buy, but all the stores around me still have copies of Golf Story available, so I don’t think that’s a problem.
@AirElephant They do offer a physical non-collectors edition. It's 35 dollars. Check out their website. They do this with pretty much every game btw!
@Claytonbob "Celeste is the free game on Xbox One in January with Gold."
That is the problem it's not January anymore and if you didn't have xobox one Gold you don't get it. So it's more cherry picking again.
Tapes again. Meh. I'll buy the game sometime, might even buy their standard edition, but not the We Heard U Like Useless Retro Stuff edition. If I really like a game's soundtrack, why would I want to get it on a medium that I can't play and was the worst audio medium ever?
Seeing as I'm yet to buy or play Celeste I think I'll grab the retail copy.
Any idea how much the standard game is gonna be?
@baller98 Scroll way down about 3/4 of the page. The Best Buy info is just above the vinyl soundtrack. https://mailchi.mp/limitedrungames/dont-miss-our-annual-blowout-sale-happening-this-tuesday?e=a8f1829626
@SwitchForce Sure...
There is no CD because you pick up cassettes in the game. If you played it, you would know that. If that makes me a troll, then so be it.
