Liam_Doolan commented on Gold Mario amiibo Exclusive To Target Australi...:

@felixthekarl I covered NZ earlier this month:

http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/06/gold_mario_amiibo_arrives_at_target_australia_on_25th_june

If stock isn't already sold out on the NZ site, I'm guessing Mighty Ape members in Australia will be required to stick to the Australian site.

For anyone still looking for a gold amiibo in Australia, this Reddit thread might be of assistance:

Liam_Doolan commented on Super Mario Maker's Packaging Sure Looks Pretty:

@97alexk I've always stuck by physical releases until recently. As much as I like box arts, when I got splatoon, it was literally an empty plastic case with a disc in it, no manual or anything. At that point I figured it's about time I switched to digital (if only the prices weren't so expensive). In saying all that, I will definitely be picking up this Super Mario Maker deal.

I won't be buying into this. I bought Guitar Hero 3 for Wii on release and eventually threw my plastic guitar out.

Funny that out of all the third party titles not coming to Wii U, this one is. After being milked to death, this is a series pretty much every platform could do without.

Liam_Doolan commented on Icy Wind Games Set To Release Action-Adventure...:

I have updated this article removing the "next gen" line now realising it was a tongue-in-cheek joke. At the time of writing I was on auto-pilot and this completely slipped by me despite the subtle hints made by the developer.

As you all know, we cover a lot of indie eShop games every day here on Nintendo Life. Whether we (as gaming enthusiasts) agree or not, often lines similar to the above mentioned one are actually used in a serious manner to sell upcoming indie titles / make clear a developer will take full advantage of a system’s capabilities. With this in consideration, it’s easy to overlook a joke like this.

In saying that, all the best with development, I would definitely be up for some local co-op action. Looking forward to it!

Liam_Doolan commented on Fullblox Is Available To Download On The Europ...:

@Greenalink Original 3DS here. Noticed this as soon as I booted up the game.

As for anyone who hasn't played a Pullblox game before, I would definitely recommend you check out at least one of the previous games. The original and sequel on the 3DS are great value, as is the WIi U eShop release. Despite the unique price model, I'm sure this new one will be similar to the previous offerings.

@rjejr I agree the NFC Reader / Writer is important for many users of original 3DS systems, but the device was already confirmed as arriving soon in the recent 3DS system update:

Until Nintendo give us a solid release date, the scheduled launch for Fall/Autumn is really only worth a quick mention within this related news.

Liam_Doolan commented on Nintendo Australia Confirms Fourth Wave of ami...:

@Nintendzoey Sorry to hear. What amiibo do you actually need/want?

I managed to get all of Wave 1, only got Captain Falcon in Wave 2, and in Wave 3 got Sonic, Mega Man and Toon Link on release, and as mentioned above acquired Shulk about a month later thanks to the restock.

I'm aiming for Charizard and Pac-Man in Wave 4, but I'm not getting my hopes up as I haven't preordered. Would also like Toad when he's released this weekend.

Liam_Doolan commented on Nintendo Download: 5th March (Europe):

OlliOlii is a great game & cross-buy is an awesome deal. If you love skating games, this one is just as revolutionary as Tony Hawk and the SKATE series.
The precision and skill required in this game is rewarding in itself. An absolute must get while it's on special.

Liam_Doolan commented on Nintendo Will Replenish amiibo Supplies in Aus...:

@Ruthven If you're concerned about securing a particular amiibo that you have missed, I would contact your local stores to see if they will have anything available in the coming months.

Also, from what I've heard, this stock is already being put out on shelves and will only be available at select retailers according to Nintendo.

Liam_Doolan commented on Weirdness: BAFTA Appears To Have Clean Forgott...:

Wow, this is interesting to read. I remember back in the day when Nintendo's very own Rare used to take out various awards and also got one for GoldenEye 007.

I should probably mention the likes of Perfect Dark and Conker's Bad Fur Day receiving BAFTA awards as well.

As mentioned in the article, a local release of the Super Mario Bros. Edition is confirmed for the west, with Nintendo responsible for publishing the title.

As for Puzzle & Dragons Z, the title has been confirmed for the west since last year, but we're still waiting on a release date.

Liam_Doolan commented on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Facing Potential E...:

@sillygostly This Smash error appears to be isolated to US gamers right now, but anyone is vulnerable.

The same error code has shown up in the past on a number of occasions with different games and data corruption incidents, and the solution has been to send the system into Nintendo.

Personally, when errors like this occur, I play it safe and wait for Nintendo to patch the game, or the system.

On the plus side, this is great exposure for Nintendo Pocket Football Club. It's an awesome game with plenty of depth, and deserves all the attention it can get. I've personally spent 80 hours on it since it was released here in Australia. Overall, I think this release is a smart move by Nintendo prior to the holiday season, given how much passion there is for football (soccer) in the UK.

I would love to see Nintendo eventually give it a chance in the US given the rising interest in the game over there, and I also think a Wii U HD version of it at some stage would be neat. Just imagine watching your matches play out on the big screen.
