Yesterday, we reported that GAME had listed The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask on its site, before hastily removing it moments later.
The story triggered mixed reactions - some readers were happy about the news, while others bemoaned Nintendo's insistence on recycling past classics rather than creating new ones.
However, such emotions are rather academic now, as GAME has gotten in touch to confirm that the alleged screen-grab of the listing is a fake.
A spokesperson for GAME told us:
I can confirm that the listings for a 3DS version of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask on the GAME and Gamestation websites were fabricated images. We’d also be very excited if they were making this game but I’m afraid we have no news for our customers at present.
