Topic: Ubisoft States That The Wii U Couldn't Handle AC Unity, You Would Feel Cheated By A Lesser Version

The take away from this is that Ubisoft is not capable of programming a Wii U game properly to the point that they cannot even bring the PS3/360 Assassin's Creed game over to Wii U. They are not inspired to try because Montreal and Quebec is cutting out subsidies that paid between 37.5% to 60% of employee's salaries at Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Quebec which means they will probably reduce staff.

Slightly off-topic but I bought Splinter Cell: Blacklist today and you can unlock a uPlay item for 10 of their credits for a menu theme WHICH DOESN'T EVEN EXIST ON WII U.

I've only beaten the first mission so far, and it was fun, but damn that is lazy porting.

She was like a candle in the wind... Unreliable.

Really what was it?

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Damn. That's the only thing I didn't unlock on uPlay, coincidentally. I still thought it was a fun game, though. Totally worth $20. This really is a game people are missing out on on Wii U, if they haven't bought it, and same thing with Child of Light and Rayman.

ACIV: Black Flag and possibly Watch Dogs are the only games I would consider not all that great from Ubisoft on Wii U, but I didn't like AC anyway. I only have a sliver of hope that somehow Watch Dogs is awesome on Wii U, but it probably won't be.

Once Xbox One and PS4 came out, 3rd parties need to either match that, or their games will basically be DOA, IMO. That's why games like Black Ops II, Tekken, Sonic, etc. being entirely 7th gen isn't that big of a deal, because Xbox One and PS4 weren't around yet, If 3rd parties can't get their support on Wii U on the same page as Xbox One and PS4, consumers and 3rd parties lose on Wii U. Nintendo and indies are the only entities treating Wii U right.

I unlocked it and nothing happened. Googled it and apparently it's just a leftover for Xbox and PS users where you can customize dashboard themes.

There's something like that from Watch_Dogs uPlay unlocks, too. You can buy an Xbox avatar for however many uPlay credits on any console. I thought that was kind of weird and cool at the same time.

I didn't think any of them were that fun. The graphics were awesome when these games first came out, but otherwise it was a big world with not very much to do. Farcry 4 will probably be more interesting than this, IMO. It seems like you can do more in that game, so why even bother with AC? That's how I figure it, anyway.

Yet u make crappy versions of its predecessors that strip it of features (but for the same price of course) and shove it on Wii U and NOW your worried about quality control? Take your crappy ports with you and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

They can put their Watchdogs port "you know where" too!

I no longer trust Ubisoft based on multiple lies and broken promises.

I have no interest in the Assassin's Creed series on top of that. Certainly not now that it's an annualized cash-in.

They already said they weren't bringing more "mature" games to Wii U...except Watchdogs...late, stripped down, and without promised special features.

I've owned a 360 for years and have yet to even touch one of these games, with the exception of the Vita one, which I spent a few minutes on. Was not impressed with it.

It is incredibly annoying to read comments about how 30 FPS gameplay is a "slideshow" or "unplayable," though. I don't even know how to respond to such idiocy.

The Ironic thing is that they already cheated WiiU fans by releasing a Gimped version of Watch Dogs.

... and ACIV: Black Flag. That's part of why I think they aren't releasing games on Wii U that often. It doesn't make sense to release gimped games and expect them to sell. Even Child of Light was technically gimped with 720p, when it can obviously run 1080p, but I don't think it made that much of difference for most people.

There's just alot more going on behind the scenes with hardware and finding out what people want. That's been the core issue since day 1.

Why Assassin's Creed Unity Runs at 30 Frames Per Second

To be fair, for a game like Assassin's Creed? Shinies are more important than the framerate. To say it "doesn't look wierd" at 30fps though is a load of bull. As long as they don't lock the framerate on PC I don't think it's worth complaining too much.

None of these consoles are breaking any performance barriers. It's a good thing in a way that the Wii U is the only platform where developers seem to understand this fact. At least we don't get half baked ports.

I don't think 30FPS is a deal breaker, TBH, but I'd rather have it(60FPS), definitely. Pushing consoles to the limits is what's costing these companies truckloads of moola. I don't even think Square Enix will make enough money to justify FFXV, regardless of how well it sells.

I think people are expecting too much for so early on into 8th gen. There's a reason why CoD Ghosts on 8th gen isn't that much of a difference, graphically, compared to 7th gen.

The only franchise I'll gladly buy from Ubisoft now that Ancel (Rayman) already left Ubisoft is if they make a 2D (UbiArt) Prince of Persia. I've never touched the AC series but I found out while ago that the first one was originally a Prince of Persia game.
