The Ironic thing is that they already cheated WiiU fans by releasing a Gimped version of Watch Dogs.
... and ACIV: Black Flag. That's part of why I think they aren't releasing games on Wii U that often. It doesn't make sense to release gimped games and expect them to sell. Even Child of Light was technically gimped with 720p, when it can obviously run 1080p, but I don't think it made that much of difference for most people.
There's just alot more going on behind the scenes with hardware and finding out what people want. That's been the core issue since day 1.
Assassin's Creed IV's gimping isn't even as bad as most bring it out to be. The Most was we didn't get ACIV DLC.

The Wii U didn't run the same slightly enhanced version as Xbox One and PS4, either.

Rubbing in the fact the Wii U will never get this game?
"They played us like a damn fiddle!" - MGS5
"Finish your mission, prove your loyalty." - MGS3
"We could take a s*** on you from such a height, you'd think God himself has crapped on you!" - GTA: SA
Currently Playing: The Phantom Pain.
Well, maybe if 3rd parties have gotten the same slightly enhanched version as Xbox One and PS4, more people would have cared about getting it on Wii U. We will never know, and I don't really care. I'm not buying it on Xbox One, either.

And so the truth comes out: It didn't come out on the Wii U because Ninendo wouldn't let Ubisoft release a game with so many microtransactions.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)
Given how badly it runs on fairly reasonably powerful machines I think the reason why it's not on Wii U is painfully obvious. The game is broken, they could barely get it to run on PS4/XBOne and PC. No way they're going to spend time getting it to work on less capable hardware. We all dodged a bullet here

The game would run like 5fps if it came out on the Wiiu.Still can't believe Ubisoft said this is next gen, yeah next gen games are full glitches and bugs Ubisoft. Thanks for making Assassins creed a laughing stock.
The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.

The power isn't the issue. It just doesn't run well period, even on high end PCs. It's not optimized at all, especially for AMD chips, which BOTH the PS4 and XB1, as well as many PCs use. Nvidia chips have less problems, but it's still a horrible mess. The game runs as slow as 15 fps, if not slower, on any platform. Ubisoft released an unfinished game - the new Sonic 06.

It is unoptimised and it's unacceptable on all platforms. However it does run better when people have thrown more horsepower at it. For example there's one benchmark out there with the highest settings at 1080p where the lowest framerate is 16fps on a 770, 24fps on a 970 and 33fps on a 980. That's crap, those are the sort of numbers you expect from 4K with those cards not 1080p. It still shows that more horsepower gives better performance though. So I think it's fair to assume that if they tried to get it running on less horsepower than the XBOne/PS4 then it'd run even worse.
Either way, even if it could "run" on the Wii U at crappy framerates of the same level as the XBOne and PS4. Still dodged a bullet.

"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"
True enough. Oh, and is Sonic Boom really that bad? I mean, Sonic 06 was horrible because it was unfinished. It would have been a fairly decent game otherwise.
This game was rushed for the holidays. It runs bad on all technology; PC, PS4, and Xbox One. People are giving this game bad reviews already on steam. Metacritic has a terrible score by users, while the 13 critics gave it a good score. Good ol' Metacritc, always contradicting itself.

@skywake
Ubisoft is the one who dodged a bullet by not releasing it on Wii U. The same thing goes for Battlefield 4. They're building a reputation of releasing buggy games that are littered with mostly useless microtransactions and DLC that completes the game(I'm looking at Activision). SMH.

Nothing I've seen of Boom compares to 06:
