Over an art style that has no relevance to any franchise, is not a clear reason. And yes, it's a different situation but it's a situation that can be applied to Drake's and FP's.

You can like whatever you want but if you're going to partake in a discussion where you compare games, you need to back it up with actual reason(s). Then again you're Scar the boy wonder.

The point was that I had an opinion and gave reasons for those opinions, but it didn't seem to matter.

If you think the same way about PS, then it shouldn't be that hard to understand why I think that about Nintendo.
Besides, games like F-Zero vs. WipeOut(the PS racing game) give a clear picture about why a game like F-Zero matters more.
They associated characters with each car, their love for racing in a futuristic setting, and their goals.
WipeOut is just cars without personality.

I have my reasons. This is just an opinion afterall. Bowser looks more realistic than Fat Princess, and Peach looks more realistic than Fat Princess, so I draw similarities that are closer between those 2 than ND and FP.
Fat Princess is intentionally a cartoon vs. a realisticly portrayed character like Nathan Drake.

That's why I brought up characters like Mario and Ness. They're like Fat Princess in comparison to more realistic characters, but we're comparing Bowser and Peach here.

Even King Deedeedee and Kirby fit in, IMO, because they aren't human. I think they're animals, so I don't have any expectation for them to be portrayed similarly to a human character. Fat Princess and Nathan are both humans.
I think the textures is mainly what made me draw differences between their artstyles.

I only read one reason. Unless you want to show me where you listed more than one, I'll be more than happy to read it.

I do not think much of either. So there's your answer to your undying curiosity.

That's why I brought up characters like Mario and Ness. They're like Fat Princess in comparison to more realistic characters, but we're comparing Bowser and Peach here.

Both are appropriate due to the fact that they share the same universe. It's not whether or not the art style is similar between characters, but it's the likeliness of an outcome. Fat Princess beating Kratos? Literally, no, since FP cannot even move on her own at a certain point in time whereas Kratos kills mythical entities with mythical weapons. Peach up against Bowser can be analyzed with the same strategy. He kidnaps her in every game and she is helpless just like FP. Bowser may not be Kratos, but he has the power to rule over Mushroom Kingdom which is a lot more than what Peach has to offer.

Just for you.

Depends on the type of gamer we are talking about.. there are some older gamers who have been around for awhile (Atari 2600 or NES era) that have very good reasons to not like the Wii U.. (I don't think it's them not liking Nintendo in general) Game Library, Bad Internet Service compared to other systems.. etc. (Note: I am just fine with Nintendo's Internet Service myself.. but just saying) then there are Younger Gamers..who's only reason is.. oh look another Mario or look at those system specs.. it's so 360 like.. so it's like totally okay to hate Nintendo.. besides we have to like play mature games.. to be cool and stuff.. so we like skip Nintendo and junk... ... anywho... the latter needs their next COD.. and talks about how awesome it is.. that this time you get a new gun.. and totally shoot people.. (Like.. you know.. you didn't do that before) .. oh look at all these new maps.. (That your basically running around and shooting people in..) it's totally a new gameplay experience.. meanwhile you point out the new Levels and Mechanics in Mario..especially with the Gamepad.. and it just does not register as a new gameplay experience.. basically .. I think in the end.. it's simple.. Haters are going to Hate.. even if they have no logical reason to hate.. that is all..

@Skywake
I got my GCN in March of 2002 for my b-day. That was when it was still $250 so I had to share with my bro. I got Super Smash Bros. as my first game.
That's why the graphics argument doesn't really matter to me. I was only 9, so I wasn't directly aware of any better graphics. All I knew was that I liked N64 better than PS1 because I thought the games played and ran better. I wasn't even aware of PS2 TBH. I saw commercials, but I think they messed that up, and I never really paid attention again.
They had a commercial for PS2 stated as the PS9 iteration.
I was playing Super Mario Sunshine and Mario Kart DD with better graphics than anything PS2 could do with mature games. By the end of 6th generation, I started noticing graphics, but those are my reasons why I chose GCN.

@Chrono_Crossing
I said that textures between characters is what made me differentiate PS characters, as well as my perspective on animals vs. human beings. That's 2 reasons. I don't expect Bowser to look real, but he looked more real as an animal among people then 2 human characters from Sony.

Nintendo was their best friend during elementary school. She grew up to become a nerdy chubby girl and now they feel embarrassed everytime she tries to say hi to them in highschool. Those jerks. They even insult her sometimes.

.... What?

one of them even said he want's to trade in his 360 and get a Wii U

Make of that what you will

Nice.

The tech is the most amazing out of the 3, the game pad is just a gorgeous piece of hardware. But third parties for whatever reason are too lame to support the console. They were even too lame to support the Wii. Resident Evil 4 had such good Wii controls, much better than moving the analog sticks, but how many RE4 clones came out in the latter years? Wii sold because Mario Kart, and Brawl, and Super Mario Galaxies, and NSMB, and Donkey Kong Country Returns and Wii Sports Resort and Zelda and again and again Nintendo tried to make new experiences to it, but third parties were kinda meh about it. Ubisoft made Red Steel 2 and Capcom made Monster Hunter Tri and TvC and you know these are basically the companies that support Wii U today too.

If third parties weren't such crap, they'd utilize the machines. They're too afraid to compete with Nintendo. So CoD was an exception with the Wii and so far an exception with the Wii U too. Hopefully they step up.

We've also been arguing that it WOULD come to Wii U, and people would probably support it if it got DLC. Plus, it's supposed to be the same version as Xbox One and PS4 with the GamePad, Wii remotes, free online, and DLC has been comfirmed.

If you read my post about COD there is a good reason why it could not of come to the Wii U, also wasn't it Nintendo themselves who announced COD for Wii U.

The whole thing was kind of a mess. They somewhat confirmed it, then said they weren't announcing anything.
Ya, Nintendo announced it themselves. They probably figured Nintendo announcing it with so much doubt surrounding the topic would be taken more seriously.

OK I rechecked.

Nintendo at 10:01 AM

Treyarch at 10:02 AM

Nintendo were the first to announce it before Treyarch was allowed to follow.

I don't think there has ever been a 9yo that cared about DVD playback. The fact that you were that old at the time I was talking about kinda proves my point I think. Personally I skipped that generation of consoles and played on PC exclusively 'till the Wii launched. Then I got a Wii. If I was going to get a console in that generation though it probably would have been the PS2... and I think most people were the same....

@Chrono_Crossing
The difference between Smash Bros and the Sony clone of Smash Bros is that Nintendo's characters all kinda fit into the same style. There are exceptions but most of the characters in Smash Bros are from the same handful of minds. It's hard to explain but I think there's something to that idea. Plus the fact that Nintendo's characters are very, very well known.

All true, plus the fact that Smash Bros. is a great game and the clone is, well, a crappy clone.

As a side note there are only three non-Nintendo games in the top 25 selling games of all time. GTA:SA on the PS2, Kinect Adventures on the 360 and GTA:VC on the PS2.

Which list is this, and can you provide a link to it? I was under the impression that games like The Sims (which sell far more on PC than consoles), Gran Turismo and Final Fantasy 7 appeared in the top 25 selling games of all time, even though it is still predominately made up of Nintendo games.

I'm an older gamer, maybe not in years (25) but my first gaming machine was an Amstrad CPC (yeah you whippersnappers go and goggle that) which I was setting up and playing when I was two and have lived through many generations of gaming since. The reason I like the Wii, Wii U, the DS and the 3DS is because they are being innovative, they are doing stuff outside the norm which brings new styles of gaming to the table. When you look at the 360 and PS3, the only thing that has changed is the visuals, they're just an updated NES with a few extra buttons. That's why I think it's easier and more successful to target Nintendo, because they are significantly different to the other two. Only so much mud can be slung between Microsoft and Sony before they begin to say "Hey doesn't your console do that too?"

I thought Lego City used the game pad well and deserves GOTY, but then the Traveller's Tales LEGO games are high quality fun. ZombiU used the gamepad well and was decent for a third party launch title.

I tried royale a couple of times on a demo display and had no idea what was going on or what any of the buttons did. Still managed to win.

it not that people hate the WiiU it's just that most are a bunch of sheep and just follow the masses plus sites like gamespot don't help when all they review is the xbox version of a game and most links take you to the xbox page, how will these people know about what the others systems can do if all the english sites (most of which are american run) only show you the xbox versions (wow american run sites being biased to the american made console who would have thought, and by the way if that offended anyone then i apologize no offence was meant)

that's why i like this site because it gives me the news i want with out having to sort through all the c***
