[16:43] James: I should learn these site rules more clearly
[16:44] LztheBlehBird: James doesn't know the rules? For shame!!!
While it says that 4800 yen is the equivelant to $57, it also says thats what normal DS games retail for that price in Japan, so that's a good sign. Although what on earth is going to supposedly be sold for 6090 yen ($73)?
While this is just Japan, that launch lineup really doesn't seem all that great, IMO. Nintendogs is the ONLY first party title launching?

I been on a few sites looking at the stuff about the 3ds Japan launch all complaining about the line up from us westerners as always they think the worse and never fully consider what they read.
Thats the Launch line up in Japan by the March time comes around for the western launch, games like Zelda oot, Dead or alive, Blaze blue, pliot wings and metal gear are all slated for spring/summer release.
the spring release list is pretty Meaty few games to keep busy and as im aware the european launch is likely to be around spring/summer time.
I myself wont be getting the 3ds just yet i will wait as theres bound to be console revisions in the works 3ds lite, 3dsi or even a 3dsxl or what ever they come up with this time.
I have faith in the launch lineup. I mean that's the list of games available DAY ONE of the systems release. They'll probably be more every week within the first two months. I don't know any system that has had a lot of games day one on release.
My concern is their online functionality. I worry (had have little faith in) because they've been very quiet about it, specifically things like friend codes and transferring DSiWare over.
@Hardy83 It's one of those things I really hope they get right this time. I don't think they're specifically withholding the details of their online functionality since they haven't officially released much other info about the 3DS. They're probably in the very final stages of testing the new WFC and 3DS shop services. When it's released in Japan all of the details will come out. Here's hoping for some good news!
I personally don't mind the battery time, because even my Ipod runs out faster than that. But I think I'll wait two months or so to get the 3DS (when more games come out).

I hope Nintendo does what Sony did for the PSP and release Battery packs that pro-longs the batterylife from 8-10+ hours. Either way, I'm STILL getting it and will also get the 3DS Lite when it's released 2 or 3 years after this comes out (hey, I may need a second one anyways for them Pokemon games on the system).

Yeah, no... I wouldn't be able to stand that. My MP3 player lasts 40+ hours on one battery charge and that's just how I like it. I never need fear long road trips or flights again.
I posted just lanuch lineup earlier but here's something with approximate dates for many others as well (but keep in mind this is Japan and won't necessarily be the same elsewhere): http://ds.ign.com/articles/114/1143155p1.html
Zelda, Pilotwings, Steel Diver, Super Monkey Ball, and others will be available during the spring (again.... in Japan).

Currently playing: 3DS: KI: Uprising Wii: Xenoblade Chronicles "Heh, heh... Thanks... You're nice. Umm... Can I ask... a question? Your friends... What kind of... people are they? I wonder... Do these people... think of you...as a friend?"
Yeah, battery life is a deal breaker. I'll wait for the next revision because with a 5-hour battery life while taking 3 hours to charge isn't very appealing (especially if the thing costs $250 or more).
Is it possible to charge it without having it in the stand? The battery life is going to be super annoying if you have to put it in that stand and play with it that way while you're recharging.

Many phone cradles are really just a piece of plastic which holds the power cable in place. If that's the case with the 3ds, I'll probably get a second power cable (for on the go), and maybe even a car charger.
