Re: Starship Defense is Your New US Club Nintendo Reward

sykotek

@HeroOfCybertron: Did I say R button? Maybe I meant the L button. In the end though, both did the same thing which is speed up the game and both of my shoulder buttons died on my launch DSi anyway, so I must've been a bit confused when I wrote that.

It was a pretty good game though, even scored an 8/10 here on NL. It's kinda sad to see everyone here dismissing it especially with what other questionable titles the US Club Nintendo has offered in the past.

Re: Angry Birds Trilogy to Cost $29.99

sykotek

Even if I didn't already get some of them for free (thanks Amazon) and had to pay for them all on Android, it'd only cost me $4 and that's counting Angry Birds: Space!

Even if I were to spring for all four of the Android HD versions that'd still only cost me $12 total.

For $30 and for only the first 3 games, they should really say what extra content it includes to justify a 10x increase in cost over existing iOS and Android versions.

Re: Talking Point: Should Zelda Go Episodic?

sykotek

Games are taking too long to make? You can't keep up with the latest technology? Forget going episodic. Give me a good story in 2D with existing polygons or sprites. C'mon Nintendo, I already buy your stuff, you should know by now that I don't give a care about graphics.

Re: Dragon Quest Monsters 3D Bundle on the Way to Japan

sykotek

It's alright, but I think I would've preferred a design more like this, one that takes into account the external camera lens and incorporates it into the image.

You'll need to use your imagination a bit...and pardon my lack of MS Paint drawing skills.

Re: Nintendo Rejects The Binding of Isaac

sykotek

It's a fun game. Controversial for sure, but pretty fun.

In this case, I think Nintendo is doing the right thing for Nintendo. Imagine the poopstorm they would get into when the fanatics begin freaking out about it...and about the children, won't someone think of the children!?

Anyways, it's not the type of attention Nintendo needs to attract...ever. I mean, honestly, who didn't see this coming?

If anyone seriously thought this would get released on the eShop, they really need a heavy dose of reality.

Re: Wow, CIRCLE Entertainment Really Likes DSiWare

sykotek

For some reason, in my head, I have CIRCLE Entertainment associated with Shovel-DSiWare, but that is not true.

On NL, their games have averaged a 6/10...with the Castle Conqueror series and the first Lost Town game scoring above that average.

Maybe it's time to go back and check out some of their better releases...too bad I'm out of eShop cards atm.

Re: Capcom Will Replace Evil Typo

sykotek

I don't get the worry some of you guys are displaying... If anyone DOESN'T get the typo version, post here to let us know. I highly doubt there will be any fixed versions at retail, ...especially on launch.

Re: Capcom Will Replace Evil Typo

sykotek

Step 1 (generate some hype): Mess up your retail cover, leak to gaming press.

Step 2 (feign customer service): Promise to fix the cover and to provide replacements.

Step 3 (maximize profits): Release game, the crazies will freak out, think it'll be rare/limited/collector's item and buys at full MSRP.

Step 4 (shut people up): Replace covers for individuals that complain. Never bother to actually fix the retail covers. Discontinue program and allow people to download and print out the artwork themselves.

Step 5 (repeat at a later date): Wait a few years. Most will have forgotten about the last incident by now.

Re: North American Resident Evil Packaging is Wrong

sykotek

Capcom has just responded to this issue. Turns out Capcom will be fixing this issue in subsequent releases of this title after all and will provide early purchasers with fixed covers. ...I'll believe it when I see it, the fixed covers at retail thing.

Re: North American Resident Evil Packaging is Wrong

sykotek

This would be a collcetor's item if it weren't coimng form Capcom. Chacnes are, they'll just leave it like taht. Most people proabbly woudln't catch or care abuot the slight spelilng snafu.

Anyone taht has bought the orignial PlaySattion vesrion of Strider 2 or Okami for the Wii would konw they won't really bother with fixing it. Only those who raelly comlpain will likely get a fixed cover.

Re: Rising Star Games To Open American Office

sykotek

I love Rising Star Games! ...which is pretty strange considering I'm an American...also a Californian and the only title I've ever went out of my way and imported that is RSG is the UK version of DoDonPachi Resurrection for 360.

I can swear that I've played quite a few of RSG games that were domestic releases...unless another company uses their star logo also...

Anyways, HELL YEAH! AKAI KATANA SHIN!!!

Re: Review: NASCAR Unleashed (3DS)

sykotek

Seriously...what took you guys so long, it just dropped in price and I almost bought it cause I noticed it was from Firebrand Games and wanted to get my Ricky Bobby on.

Re: Konami Dissolving Hudson Soft

sykotek

@Retro_on_theGo: I wouldn't worry about it. It's been a long time coming, this is just a formality I'm sure. Also, I wouldn't worry about the release of Hudson titles...unless you live outside of Japan.

Re: The Binding of Isaac Seeking Approval from Nintendo

sykotek

The more I play this game, the more I like it. It's challenging, but it's fun. I highly doubt it'll ever hit the eShop unless there's major censoring/revisions to the presentation. It's guaranteed AO otherwise.

For example, this here is a monster named Vis:
Vis's main method of attack is spraying a jet of blood at you from her...cavity.

Re: Review: Tetris (3DS Virtual Console / Game Boy)

sykotek

This is THE definitive version of Tetris! None of that... being able to continually spin your piece garbage that has plagued modern Tetris games. You think Tetris is easy noobs, play this one.

This is the only Tetris game I lose at before hitting the highest speed level and I love it!

Re: Review: Power Rangers Samurai (DS)

sykotek

I really dug Power Rangers: Super Legends on the DS. It was an incredibly under rated game that most professional reviewers just didn't bother actually spending time with in order to unlock or learn some of the cooler combo making moves available.

I haven't watched a single episode of Power Rangers: Samurai ...or Power Rangers since...the beginning of Turbo.

Edit: Picked it up, B1G1 half off sale at Toys R Us...it comes in a larger box and includes a complimentary Red Samurai Ranger figure.

The Wii version doesn't look so fun in the videos of gameplay I've watched, what a shame.
