Although I really wish they'd release an awesome JSRF sequel, lets not kid ourselves, its SEGA, they'll mostly be releasing ports like the ones listed here.
I just wanna get this straight..., so if I registered my games and earned my coins which expire in 2012-2013, this new agreement, if I choose not to accept would cause my registered coins to expire this month? Am I being strong-armed into accepting this in order to keep what I've earned?
No one I know IRL plays DOA because its eyecandy casual fighting game garbage. Tekken or VF on the other hand would be cool! A new SoulCal would be right up there with SSFIV.
Asphalt 3D is a port of a 2 year old, $5 iOS app Asphalt 5. Some of the effects were altered to be similar to Asphalt 6: Adrenaline, but the core gameplay is exactly the same as Asphalt 5. Even though I only got it for $19.99, I found it to be quite overpriced given the issues described. They should've just ported A6. I just returned my purchased copy to the store.
I couldn't find a picture of it, but is that the same Overkill promo where SEGA bought ground beef, tossed in dog tags and random bones and bits and shipped it out to reviewers...cause someone on eBay is in for some rotted meat if its been leftover from before its launch...
@Aquateen510: Cross comparison analysis (aka as guessing or what I'd likely do if I worked for Nintendo)!
If history is any indication, they'll likely upload between 6-12 VC titles for the first week of 3DS VC, I'd realistically expect the former as they are still supporting DSiWare and WiiWare.
I wouldn't expect more than 2 VC titles after the initial week and it'll likely decrease from there following the release of the inevitable 3DSWare which I project to happen around 3rd Fiscal Quarter of 2013 (April-June 2013).
Also, I'd expect VC to start going the way of the dodo once 3DSWare is being set up which I project to happen around the tail end of the 1st Fiscal Quarter of 2013 (December 2012).
I have one and I think its awesome! I still remember some guy on youtube raising money to get a Wii by proposing to destroy his VB, grr..., they're endangered!
I have: Jack Bros, 3D Tetris, Mario Clash, Vertical Force, Galactic Pinball, Panic Bomber, Mario Tennis, Red Alarm and Wario Land!
This game looks interesting. I'm assuming there are not refill power ups and 99 bullets are all you get per stage. Makes it quite interesting for a SHMUP.
...even if I didn't change my mind and purchased the 3DS on day one. ...even if I received mine at a midnight launch while being first in line. ...even if I tore open the packaging and registered the code through my cellphone at 12:01am.
I still wouldn't get a shirt if it was in limited quantities.
The reason why? Because I live on the western coast of the US. That means, for the US, there would be already 3 other 3DS launches in each time zone that would've had at least an hour to register their codes.
I won't be getting one at launch though, so I hope it happens for those of you that want it to happen in the US.
...doesn't the question block give you boobs? I could've swore I saw a youtube video somewhere... Edit:[youtube:50LUXgjnx9o]
Most of the huge slowdown issues in the retail version sprang up in the survival modes, so anyone that hasn't purchased that should thoroughly enjoy the DSiWare version.
...man...would it be crazy to spend $8 just to play this new Zombie Trap minigame...if only I had a youtube video or something...
@Corbs: I'd like to see a new I-Ninja game too, but that'll likely never happen since the company that made it, Argonaut Games folded less than a year after its release. As far as I know, I-Ninja died with them.
@lz20XX: I could've swore they mentioned somewhere that they aren't going to ALL be transferable and if that's the case, Cave Story, in the business sense, shouldn't be since it'd affect sales of the 3DS version. Of course, I'd like nothing better than to be proven wrong.
@Highwinter: Free 1000 points? Are they still doing that? @Odnetnin: I was thinking the same. IMO, its likely the original Cave Story for DSi won't be transferable to 3DS for that reason. It may disrupt sales of the new 3DS version.
If PvZ DSiWare takes advantage of the extra power in the DSi, it'll be a must buy. The retail release is plagued with slowdown when you get to higher levels. Please review it soon!
As a consumer, I'm alright with this as long as there are measures in place to accurately prevent false positives besides having to send your 3DS and suspected pirated game into Nintendo for repair.
They'll also need to better protect the end consumer from pirated carts than they have on DS. They're not commonly seen in retail locations, but they are there, I've seen little more than a handful of pirate carts in the many years the DS has been out and they're not necessarily easy to spot unless you know what you're looking for.
Also, they'll need to label that security measure in plain sight on the packaging unless they want a class action lawsuit down the line. Sounds like a security measure that is easily prone to lawsuits.
Not that it really matters though, it'll get hacked for the challenge of it and most experienced pirates know to not install official updates on their systems from PSP.
Seems like a well laid out and informative magazine. After watching the video and hearing the word a dozen times, I still don't get what is so controversial about the Nintendo 64.
For some reason, I thought EU had it already... just goes to show that it was mostly Americans whining about it not being released in the first place. Oh well, have fun!
I hope, for your sakes, they take this time to fix some of the weird bugs and slowdown issues that are scattered throughout the NA version for EU.
There's nothing game-breaking, but as it currently is, it shows the game greatly needs either more processing power or more polish. I've completed all the game modes without any real problems and I'm currently working on the last, tedious achievement (essentially collecting money).
Using the stylus is greatly advantageous vs a mouse for this game, but either for balance or for space constraints, it has a max of 9 slots whereas the PC/Mac has a max of 10, so it is easier to control, but more challenging on harder levels because you can't use the exact same tactics as the PC/Mac versions (if you're already familiar).
I hope it is time based like Xbox 360. I could only see wanting to transfer my games maybe once a year anyways, like when a new version of 3DS comes out. Saves will probably not be available unfortunately, unless they allow SD transfer somehow.
@accc: I'd buy it on day one if it is released, but signing a petition is an absolute waste of time, its more productive to discuss it and to educate others on the futility of it all.
Petitions aren't an accurate barometer of critical period sales, it'll most likely flop. Besides, as is standard with these types of things, there are too many fakes or duplicate entries.
Anyways, if Mistwalker already knows about the petition and are still unsure about releasing it, a few thousand fake signatures aren't gonna change their collective minds.
There are lots of costs to consider in the localization of such a title and its not like they're backed financially by JRPG-hungry Microsoft this time around.
TL;DR: I'm not gonna bother signing, nor are my family or pets or deceased ancestors. Petitions = useless, discussion because of petition on the other hand...
I'm not gonna sign any petitions, its not worth my time. It is not because I don't want it released, but I've recently learned petitioning for signatures is a waste of time and will inevitably end in disappointment. If they release it, they'll get my money, if they don't then I'll spend it on something else.
Right here, right now, I'm calling bull, but I guess we'll have to find out when everyone gets their 3DS's and plays their copies of Super Street Fighter IV 3D...over WiFi 802.11 b/g, over their individual broadband carriers of varying transmission speeds, over the vast expanses of the internet.
I don't believe. Should still be plenty enjoyable though, but Lag-Free = Bull.
Bravo, very intelligent AOA, planting the seeds now for future business. I predict in 8-10 years, a steady increase in prescription lenses and corrective eye surgeries for the younger generations.
I filled out a comment on his site, but I didn't want to leave my real name along with my e-mail address available to others, and when I tried to log in through alternate means, my message got deleted. I have bought multiple copies of all three of their current titles that were out for myself and as gifts for others. I do buy games based on the fact they are associated with Renegade Kid because I associate them with quality work and I would definitely purchase MUDD day one if it were released on DSi just as I would purchase ATV Wild Ride in stores. I'll try again to leave a comment there later.
