Re: Review: Art Style: Penta Tentacles (WiiWare)

sykotek

I've been waiting all day to post this, still getting used to my new phone and I just noticed all the Rotozoa comments now, but earlier, I thought Penta Tentacles didn't sound too good, it was too jprovocative. I was gonna post that they should shorten it to "Pentacles" instead(haha), but Rotozoa wins easy.

Re: Classic Controller Support Comes to Android Wii Remote App

JebbyDeringer: I read there aren't any extra buttons, just repositioned top buttons. In regards to the chipset, I looked it up and the CCPro no longer has analog shoulders.
Token Girl: Demo mentioned TV out was coming, so you could play it on a TV. Plus for a phone like the Nexus One, there isn't a DPad or buttons and that would go a long way for playing games if you don't miind propping up your phone or hovering over it.

Re: Flight Control Cleared for Landing on WiiWare

It is my opinion that this is one of the best games available for download on DSiWare to date. A very good game for quick pick up and play sessions. I don't plan on buying if for Wii, but hopefully, they'll be able to accurately translate the precise gameplay needed using the IR for those with a Wii, but without the DSiWare or iPhoneOS versions.

Re: Wii Controller App For Android Goes Live

I'm no expert, but a quick Google search found the following when it came to legality of ROMs and Emulators,

Lewis Galoob Toys, Inc. v. Nintendo of America, Inc. 964 F.2d 965 (9th Cir. 1992)

Paraphrasing: Under fair use, if you have a physical copy and you're entitled to a digital version, does not necessarily need to be a "copy of your original," can be a "dumped" version.

So, at the very least, in the US, where some posters are saying it is illegal, it should be legal as long as you have a legit physical copy, but hey, I'm no lawyer.

Re: Wii Controller App For Android Goes Live

@Damo: OMG, TV-out, that is awesome news! Now the 4 player multi makes more sense. I retract my emulation statement in that case too, I currently use my WiiMote on my girlfriend's Macbook, but portable MK/SF, Turtles in Time and The Alien Wars with a few friends = win. Before anyone asks, yes, I own the games. Hopefully, all that won't be a huge drain on the battery. Once they implement CC support, it becomes a must buy and sounds like the author is progressing quickly.

Anyways, I've been thinking about getting the Nexus One for the last few weeks and I had settled on getting that phone about 3 days ago. If you ever look up that phone though, the same ads for it will show up everywhere you go online. Its kinda funny, I had never experienced that before online.

Re: Wii Controller App For Android Goes Live

Cool, I've been thinking of switching to Android lately. As for the program, I'd never use it for emulation, but I'd hope it would allow controller support for other mobile games released.

The only thing that truly intrigues me about this article, the program claims support for up to 4 players.

I don't think my friends and I will ever be desperate enough to huddle around a tiny cellphone screen. I mean, can you picture going shoulder to shoulder with 3 of your buddies...?

Re: Kung Fu Funk

...Wow, I'm really shocked at how similar the title screen is to Rag Doll Kung Fu. ...at least from my memory, I haven't played that game since I got it for free.

Re: A $50,000 Cure for Virtual Boy Headaches

sykotek

@StarDust: I really only speak for me, but its not a matter of affording to import a PAL TV. If I were crazy enough to spend that type of money, it won't sell for $50K, no one is that nuts, so that I could play it on a TV, I'd want to be able to hook it up to whatever expensive HD 3DTV I want, I wouldn't want to be limited to a clunky old PAL. No offense to any clunky old PALs. =)

Re: Black Wii Could Hit North America in May

sykotek

Not that I plan on getting one for the reasons stated above, but I wonder if they do release a Black Wii here in NA whether we will also be getting Wii Sports Resort and Wii Motion Plus. Nah, they'll probably just nickel and dime us.

Re: A $50,000 Cure for Virtual Boy Headaches

sykotek

I've been eyeing this one for a couple days. Too bad it only plays on PAL for some reason. ...and the fact that the person running the auction is only allowing BIN and offers doesn't make me interested. I just can't justify spending a huge amount for it regardless of its rarity. Only a few people in the world would have that much interest in VB, it'd probably be easier and cheaper to create an emulator that does the same thing.

Re: Puffins: Let's Roll

Looks like two games ripped out of the DS retail release of Puffin's Island Adventure already available on clearance at a big box retailer near you with 98 more mini games.

Re: Review: Mega Man 4 (Virtual Console / NES)

sykotek

This was the first Mega Man game that my parents bought for me. I played this game to death. Its been 18 years and I still remember the final password by heart:
A1, A4, B5, E2, F1, F3.
There was still a long way to go from there though.

Re: Review: AlphaBounce (DSiWare)

Argh, darn you Marcel Van Duyn! I was all set to not buy anything this week, but you just had to go and write such a great detailed review for the game. I'm downloading it now, in case it truly is awesome, you'll probably not hear from me for awhile, so thanks in advance.

Re: Review: Disney Fireworks (DSiWare)

sykotek

Aw, my girlfriend will be so sad. She loves Disneyland and she cried when we stayed for the fireworks show during our first vacation there. I was hoping it'd be a good game to get for her. Hopefully the review of Save the Turtles will make it worth buying?
