@Gatorclops 3DS has/had supported themes. At which point has Ninrendo become lazy? Look at the very slow and rocky NSO beginning, especially N64 emulation. As far as list Gamecube games available on NSO, i wouldn't have had high hopes. There are many GC games, for a reference, look at total number available games for NES,SNES on NSO pretty small huh, hold your breath and make your wish
I remember glowing reviews for the first Quake, buttery smooth 60fps and so on. Yet as of now (and patch 1.7) the game randomly stutters and the only way to remedy this is to either enter settings, get back to game or press home and back to the game right away. I'm going to stay away from another "incredible port" by Nightdive, if it uses the same KEX engine.
It might be a fun game. Looks kinda uninspiring to me though. I miss Jak and Daxter days (and Ratchet and Clank, PS2 and early PS3 iterations as well). Oh boy - I am old!
Somehow, I must have missed there is (was) Netflix's own Resident Evil tv show. If I were aware I wouldn't have watched anyway, I remember vividly some RE movies were solid crap Better stick with the (good) RE games I guess!
@romanista yeah, but I one would expect the opposite .. it would benefit more from appropriate filters then "razor" sharp "HD" visuals, I think that comes down to personal preference
I'm quite suprised Nintendo hasn't come up with paid themes yet. Not exactly thing I would like to see on my Switch though, besides free themes which would be very welcomed.
More seriously then, what about a unlockable perk for NSO subscribers then, huh? That would make sense. As an addition to other unlockables, missions etc.
As I read the comments expressing the strong desire of resurrecting the VirtualConsole approach, it saddens me quite a lot. It is clear as a blue sky that Nintendo does not want us to purchase individual "VC" games. Just take companies embracing apps "premiums".. Microsoft, Adobe and many others. They looove apps provided "as service". That is what NSO is and what will ever be. The times has certainly changed, whether we like it not.
Previous River City Girls game was great according to reviews etc. The worst game of its genre, honestly. Bought on sale, still considered as wasted money. The venerable Street of Rage 2 is still the king. As well as Final Fight and many others. Not so many catches the atmosphere of back then, just few do this right. Still though, it will be the same again. It is impossible to relive the past, past is already gone and (often) firmly and fondly remembered... Fancy retro graphics of today, backed by scanlines and filters, is usually nice to look at, catchy tunes are usually fine too. But it is so clean, so HD (or 4K for that manner) .. thus boring.
Still a joke in 2021. Rewind back more ten years, and realize it would have been impossible / ridiculous back then. And they have guts to call it definitive. Obviously kids and teens do not care.

Remember, Nintendo doesn't listen from gamers want. To this day, Switch hasn't got more than two basic themes.

Subscription model ensures money are rolling in. Steadily. They finally figured it out. That is why they have no plans. Why would they?
