Bought this game recently, never played it when it was released. I've only played it for a couple of hours but honestly I don't feel this game holds up very well today. Maybe it will get better later but at least in the beginning I'm not too impressed.
The level of customization is mind blowing, I can't believe after all these years I haven't seen something in the same level. Rare was amazing back in the day.
Should I get this game if I already have Rondo of Blood? I remember playing the first level on emulator and liking it, I don't have problems with the controls.
And I don't remember Rondo being too difficult, except in the level where you fight 3 bosses or something. Is this one more difficult?
There are 2 main reasons I haven't bought a WiiU yet... first I'm still waiting for an account system, second I don't want to transfer all my VC games. Playing N64 games with a GameCube controller is great, and I thought with this we would have that option...a shame. It's surprising Nintendo dropped the ball at things like this.
I was going to say exactly what @ToxieDogg said. Harmony of Dissonance is a good game, but for a Castlevania game the music is really bad quality, seriously.
I agree with everything that @TRON said, the ISSS series perfectly balanced sim and arcade, making them the best football games I've ever played. This was a great start, but ISSS98 and ISSS2000 were better games of course.
I loved this game, the story, cinematics and battle system. It had clunky control though, and the battle system would've been better with more special techniques or combos, I don't know. Still I loved it, one of my favorite N64 games.
This game is fantastic, so good I actually bought it just a few months ago. I've been playing it recently and it's a blast to play..... too bad my N64 is dying
The first time I played it I didn't like it the same as X or X2, the game has a bit more of exploration and less action from what I remember. But I ended up liking it a lot.
One question, do the metallic versions are still fingerprint magnets? I still have a normal 3DS metallic black and I hate how my fingerprints are all over it.
I really like the new blue metallic color but I don't want to be suffering with it...
@Gridatttack I think it was too easy and that's what made it forgettable. You could beat the robot masters in your first try and even without the correct weapon. Also I noticed that enemies dropped tons of lives and energy.
For me I like this one a bit more than Mega Man 2, and I liked the music in this game. But I'm surprised it was not mentioned the terrible sound effect when recovering energy. Just awful, specially when you reach a boss.
This one is a lot more difficult than the first. I didn't find the first one too difficult except for that corridor where you fight Death.
I already have this on Wii, it'd be great to have it on 3DS for the save points, but I'm having some trouble playing Nes games on 3DS tiny buttons. I think I'll wait to get the WiiU, not only a better control but better price too. This is one of the games that having save points really helps.
Ocarina of Time N64. I haven't played the 3DS version. Don't understand people saying it has aged horribly? I still play it from time to time and have more fun with it that Skyward Sword or Twilight Princess.
In fact not too long ago I played The Legend of Zelda Nes for the first time and even had more fun than those games I mentioned, which were good but with a LOT of boring parts.
Bonsai Barber is a great game! I can't believe a lot of people haven't played it. It received a lot of hype from IGN because it was made by one of the creators of Goldeneye.
Anyway, the game is simple but extremely charming, and with a lot of content. Trying to get everything is challenging. Can be played with a friend. The animation and facial expressions are very funny.
I repeat, a very simple but enjoyable game, one that you can play for 15-20 minutes a day and move on. I recommend it.
Well, first things first, Nintendo has to do a proper account system. I can understand on any other system, but with Nintendo is a huge risk. If my console is stolen or stops working then I lose all my games, so is understandable if most people want to download cheap or small games only.
No problem, and I just learnt it was also released in 1998, well December 31 to be precise. I always thought it was released in 1999, even the game has that date in the intro!
About this game, I really loved it and actually played it just a few weeks ago. I have finished it countless of times. Once you get used to the controls it's a very enjoyable game imo.
I still remember the first time I finished the game I was a bit disappointed with the Dracula's battle. Then my brother finished it too, but he got a new cinema where Malus was Dracula! I was like OMG what did you do, how did you get that! O_O Great times lol
Pictobits is great! I bought it time ago and is one of the best puzzles I've ever played, with great music and very challenging. I'm tempted to buy Mario RPG but I don't know, I played it recently on emulator and I thought it hasn't aged that well. Chrono Trigger is better by far.
hmm I don't know, I'd like to try a FPS game but I don't want to buy the Circle Pad Pro and I really don't like touch screen controls. And how much space would I need? I'd rather buy it physically.
Terrible review, this is a fantastic game. Yeah it can be confusing, there are a few things that will be impossible to figure out for yourself, but for other things there are hidden tips you can find destroying walls and floors around the world that are very helpful. Figuring things out is part of the fun, and you can figure out most of the game except for one or two things, just check gamefaqs and problem solved. And now with the possibility to save your states it should be a LOT easier.
This is a fantastic game, one of my favorite Castlevanias. True, you will get lost and don't know what to do a couple of times, look for help to avoid the frustration and enjoy this Classic.

Re: Nintendo 64x64: Mystical Ninja 2 Starring Goemon
I love the music in this one a bit more than the first game, but overall the first game was better. Both great games though!
Re: Review: Castlevania: Dracula X (Wii U eShop / Super Nintendo)
@Ryno @unrandomsam
Thanks for your replies, I'll get it in the near future. Even if it was too difficult, at least it won't be frustrating with the save states.
Re: Nintendo 64x64: Perfect Dark
Incredible game, best FPS of all time!

My bad, I meant a decent account system

Re: Nintendo 64x64: F-Zero X
GX was fun but in the end I preferred X music and control. If only GX had the shoulder attack.... it had nice graphics though.

Re: Review: Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call (3DS)
@pariah164
According to the page I sent:
The full tracklist from Theatrhythm Final Fantasy returns, with the exception of "Somnus" from Final Fantasy XV*.[6]
Music from the Romancing SaGa also appears as DLC. [7]
Re: Review: Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call (3DS)
@pariah164
Yes, I just found it will have all the songs and DLC from the first one.
http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Theatrhythm_Final_Fantasy:_Curtain_Call
Thanks for the help!
Re: Review: Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call (3DS)
@pariah164
Thanks! So I guess all the songs from the last game are included in this one, right?
Re: Review: Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call (3DS)
Are all the songs from the first game included? Or just a few? How many more are in this game?
Re: Review: Mega Man X3 (Wii U eShop / Super Nintendo)
The first time I played it I didn't like it the same as X or X2, the game has a bit more of exploration and less action from what I remember. But I ended up liking it a lot.
For me it deserves a 9.... at least 8.5

great, I'll try to get the Mario Kart bundle

perfect, I think this is better suited for portable gaming

I thought they were releasing a physical package, so it's download only? Or will there be a physical copy?

Ocarina N64 single or combined with 3DS is winning

Re: Australian Ratings Board Reveals Portable Castlevania and More F-Zero for Wii U's GBA Virtual Console
Nothing wrong with GBA to be in the WiiU, but why can't they release them in the 3DS too? It doesn't make sense to me!
Re: Nintendo Download: 20th March (North America)
I'll be getting Mutant Mudds, I enjoyed the demo but then forgot about it. =p

Re: Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition is Wrestling Its Way to the Wii U eShop
Great! I wanted to play this game since I saw it, I'll download it once I buy a Wii U
Re: Review: Bravely Default (3DS)
Loved the demo, played it foir 6 hours straight. I'll be getting this game soon.
Re: Bravely Default Producer Outlines a Continued Focus on the Story for Upcoming Sequel
Just started playing the demo and I got hooked! Played it for 6 hours straight. I'm impressed and I'll buy it soon.

Re: Shinji Mikami Prefers The Sega Version Of Aladdin, Even Though He Worked On The SNES Game
Just looking at those vids, the Snes version looks far more polished. The animation, graphics, colors, sounds, level design. All looks better imo.
Re: Review: AeternoBlade (3DS eShop)
The demo crashed my 3DS twice! I kinda like the game though. But $15 seems too much.
Re: Review: Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 (Wii)
Never played this game, but I will rent it soon. The controls got me interested.
BTW, I agree with the reviewer, F-Zero X is the best F-Zero game!

If I remember correctly, it actually was released a month later. Zelda on December 1998 and Castlevani 64 on January 1999.
Re: Review: Ninja Gaiden (Wii U eShop / NES)
Excellent game, is very hard but thankfully you have unlimited continues.
Re: Game Boy Advance Titles To Hit Wii U Virtual Console From April Onwards
Interested in Metroid Fusion but for 3DS!!! Not WiiU!
Re: Club Nintendo Rewards Updated for February
Pictobits is great! I bought it time ago and is one of the best puzzles I've ever played, with great music and very challenging.
I'm tempted to buy Mario RPG but I don't know, I played it recently on emulator and I thought it hasn't aged that well. Chrono Trigger is better by far.
Re: Feature: 10 Nintendo DS Games We Want To See On The Wii U Virtual Console
I'd prefer to have a DS VC in the 3DS, not in the Wii U. We need more N64 and Snes games before that!
Re: Renegade Kid's New 3DS FPS Is Moon Chronicles
hmm I don't know, I'd like to try a FPS game but I don't want to buy the Circle Pad Pro and I really don't like touch screen controls. And how much space would I need? I'd rather buy it physically.
